In my opinion, a world war is literally the worst thing that can happen to humanity, with or without bitcoin.

Wars happen because countries can't pay up their debts, so they "pay up" this way. (Again, in my opinion, no misunderstandings)
In a war, the fiat loses its value. I had a discussion with a friend about what could happen to bitcoin in a war. He said that it will surely collapse. I am not so sure about it.

Although, think about it for a while. In a world war, the last thing someone has is access to the internet. Would bitcoins lose their value?

History has shown that gold is the money that "reborns" fiat. At least after a war. I would like to read some thoughts.

You made a good discussion. As like dollars, bitcoin is also based on Market. The value of dollar was reduced in world war is due to the Market. The price of bitcoin is decentralized one, it mean no one can control it. It was only done by the investors and traders. I hope we don't face any next world war, because no country work with diplomatic tactics. Surely world war will affect the world economy badly. So all the country should not encourage it again.

It would really the worst thing that could happen to all of us, and Bitcoin as well. In the period of chaos and destruction the most valuable things would be food and weapons, medicine and so on. But not the BTC will take the first place in this list of the most required things. So at least for some period it would be forgotten. And after the world's recovery may be it would be recalled again.
Food ,water, clothing, weapons, medicine and place to hide thats the most important thing that will matter for everyone when your
Community is being attacked and Bombed, you will not care for everything but your life, this is the saddest that World war can bring.
But of course there are still people that will accumulate resources like Gold and maybe Bitcoin.
and also yeah there might be a temporary shutdown of transactions but once the war is over?
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will return.

There is one theory saying the world war 3 is already started economically between the economic powers. However, in the case of any military world war many currencies will be banned and many countries will be sanctioned and all these limitations will make the lives harder for people. the only thing can be traded limitless is the bitcoin and this huge demand can pump the bitcoin (and gold) price real hard during this period of the time.

We don't actually know what could happen to the bitcoin when World War happened but for sure it will have a huge effect on the market and on bitcoin.

In my opinion, at times of war transactions are important since it would be needed to purchase firepower, but not actually sure since there are so many currencies that could be used at this point aside from bitcoin. Money is important if you want to be protected. Or in the times of war bitcoin could easily be useless since most of the time it is all about surviving and it might affect bitcoin market price making it useless in some countries. But I guess it depends on what situation the war would make to the world.
I don`t think it would an advantage for bitcoin when there is a world war. It might be used in purchasing or transacting but probably, economy will fall. As a result, most of the companies will not be able to run. Many businesses will shutdown and cryptocurrency as well as stocks will be affected. In the end, there is no good that world war brings to the world aside from depopulating and fighting the individual rights and wants. Bitcoin will probably fall because investors are fear to trap in a falling world economy.

I also agree with you. In Iran, if something important happens, they will cut off the internet of the whole country. I myself witnessed that after the assassination of one of the good commanders of this country, they cut off the internet of the whole country.

And I remember that my friends in Iran did not know about the Bitcoin chart for weeks, and they were the ones who lost their capital.
However, in my opinion, gold is better in war than bitcoin.

I think there are two possible "what if" scenarios.
1. Bitcoin would act like gold or any other limited assets during war. It would rise in price
2. Bitcoin would behave like it did during the lockdown. It'd collapse.

fiat currency will losses its capacity to buy during world war. Money could not buy for food nor it could be use for comfort because during war survival is the kry by keeping  food. bitcoin also will be no value during war because we know that bitcoin us being back by fiat currency. However, after the war fiat could be restore to its function but I guess not the digital currency like bitcoin. War is destructive and losses will be high like lossing hardware wallet and seed phrase. It is expected that there will be many users to lose bitcoin that could not be recovered.
The idea that a lot of bitcoins will be lost during the global war deserves special attention. Indeed, the war will take many lives, and with them access to a significant part of the cryptocurrency, including bitcoins, will be cut off. Even if the Internet remains, there will be very little bitcoins in circulation.
At the same time, if the consequences of the war are very significant, most likely, the cryptocurrency will lose its significance and its value. Cryptocurrency trading is possible only in a technically advanced society.

I hope that world war will not happen again, because the effects must be very bad, even worse than the current situation.
But if it does happen in the end and what will happen to Bitcoin, I predict the Bitcoin price will go up. Because more and more
people will use Bitcoin for payments, because transactions with Bitcoin can be done easily. And most importantly, you can make
transactions between countries safely. Even the government can use Bitcoin to buy weapons for war.

Its obvious that civil war or world war is very dangerous because if any country experience war it will affect their economy really. Looking into cryptoccurrencies the only war that can affect cryptoccurrency is a word war but a process were buy it's a countries war it will not affect another country because not only the country that is into cryptoccurrency.
Crptocurrency currently are vital.

If a war breaks out, communication will be the first target when attacking so the internet can be interrupted and cut off. That meant it was impossible to transfer money using bitcoin, so bitcoin was impractical during the war. In a currency war too, the value can be inflationary and unpredictable, so cash is not the way either. I think Gold is worth more than anything because it has been experienced in previous wars, history for thousands of years.

Bitcoin is a decentralized coin and it has a great value. Some government will use bitcoin as their payment method at the time of world war. But it is sure that bitcoin will lose its price randomly.

Everybody loses in a war if there is another world there is a big probability that Bitcoin will drop it's value but not lose it's value manyholders will likely sell their shares and stock foods and basic needs, because there will be an interruption of basic supply, but it's unlikley to happen because leaders knows the cause of going to world war, nobody wins here.

Apart from that there'll be minor market collapse with rest of the countries, as every country is tied up with businesses.
I believe a world war will create a major market collapse if the government will not be able to handle the tension, huge tendency that fiat will lose its value for a while until war is over. Inflation will surely be a problem if war would happen.
When we talk about bitcoin after a world war, the network would've got weakened as miners are the sole responsible for every transaction.
I totally agree with this, no matter how we can access bitcoin with internet if there will be no miners transactions will just surely get trafficked and no transaction will be pushed eventually.

As you have said, fiat will lose its value. Bitcoin is being traded to usd which can be lose its value when the world war will happen. Bitcoin can still function but if its pair (USD) has no value at all, then it will be useless also. But we should expect that there will be no war to happen, the world can't afford to happen that since people will now think carefully before they even let it to happen.

I think this years crash demonstrates that Bitcoin is quite sensitive to the situation on the global market, so you can imagine that in terms of price, it won't be doing well. Its network will also be negatively affected, if global Internet connection would be disrupted, and we know that some governments are preparing for it - Russia and China and some other dictatorships have the technology to cut themselves off the Internet. But if there won't be nuclear war and the subsequent collapse of civilization, Bitcoin would survive a world war.

No, war happens not because country can't pay up their debts, it is because stronger country wanted to bully and take over the weaker one.

In a war, the fiat loses its value. I had a discussion with a friend about what could happen to bitcoin in a war. He said that it will surely collapse. I am not so sure about it.

It is expected once, a country engulfed in a war, their financial system crashes and their economy suffer because their sources of income collapses, in short all economic activity are halted or sanctioned.

Depends on what kind of war and where the war is.  If war is not a global one and it happens on a non-supporting country, then we can't see a significant effect on the Bitcoin market.  But if war became global, then it will not only affect the value of BTC but rather it will affect the operations and transactions of BTC negatively, trading may come to halt, worst the blockchain operation itself may stop if all the internet services stop.

I think that digital currencies and gold will be more important than fiat money in a world war. Because obviously, fiat money will take the most damage and people won't be eager to use it. They will look for alternatives. Cryptos and gold will be the best options.

I strongly believe that the world war 3 has already begun few years back and it happens in the air without even firing any single nuclear or missile. What I'm talking about is the cyber war that is happening for ages. Talking about bitcoin during these era, we don't actually know how are they using bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies that promotes anonymity but one thing's for sure bitcoin will be used abundantly during warfare era.
