i bought myself a nutribullet pro. went from eating fast food meat and junk food to mostly fruit. banana, oranges, apples, grapes, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon, honeydew. i recently started adding some vegetables. kale, carrots, and celery. i make 3 or 4 smoothies a day. been doing it for about 2 months. i feel drastically better. especially my mood and state of mind. i will eat meat but its more of an occasional thing just to enjoy something different. that blender was one of the best things i have ever purchased. it's so much quicker easier and cheaper. i will never go back to my old eating habits.
There is this issue: not everyone has access to multiple kinds of fresh fruit at all times. I'd do that if I could. (I occasionally make smoothies too)

Some people need to eat meat for the protein, otherwise we'd have to get our protein from taking more pills. Animals eat other animals, It's just a part of life.
Animals eat other animals.it is life. Grin

Animals rape each other and shit in the street too, doesn't mean we should follow their example  Grin.

the only problem with meat are the atrocious farming methods, antibiotics and hormones.  the hormones go from the animal to the person and cause problems like earlier puberty in boys/girls and who knows what else.

otherwise, no real problem.

Flexitarian married to a vegetarian tossing his 2 satoshi in Smiley.

There's nothing wrong with eating meat. Do so if you like. But also consider the animal as a living creature trying to survive, just like us. Honor the animal instead of buying meat at the lowest possible price. I hate that.

Exactly. Vegans are usually quiet about their choice until it comes up then it's usually the meat-eaters who go on the attack asking them why and insulting them etc.
False
false
false
And false, vegans and vegetarians are the loudest kind of people ( generally ) who won't shut up a second till they think they've made every meat eater aware that they're ruining planet earth and harming other animals etc.
Want a simple example? Check this thread.

Nah, most of them don't but maybe they do after a moron has just said but meat is so tasty hur der durr or some other moronic nonsense because they feel threatened or annoyed by them for their own petty personal reasons.

I think you will find it's the meat eaters who seem to be doing this and as usual in a defensive and childish manner.

For you guys, this is a serious thread. For us, we're all just laughing at the stomping hissy shit-fit tantrum. I agree that animals should be treated with due respect. They should be raised in a clean environment, and killed as quickly and painlessly as practical. Face it, we respect the rights of other humans ONLY because we want our rights respected. When an animal is capable of respecting my rights as a sovereign being, I'll respect his rights to not be eaten.

I don't think anyone has had a hissy shit-fit tantrum, but when someone makes their argument you provide none other than the cliched defensive immature crap. So when was the last time an animal disrespected you? Were you raped by one or something?

Eating animals is not crime or its not immoral but from the other hand factory farming methods are horrible and animals suffer on a daily basis. If someone where caught treating dogs and cats like like the millions of calves,lambs,sheep,goats,cows,pigs,chick... turkeys used for milk, egg, and meat production are treated, they would be arrested and taken to jail.

Again, animals are going to eat plants regardless of whether we kill them for food or not.  And to the previous poster who mentioned the number of cows on farms is likely larger than the number of cows capable of being naturally sustained in the wild is starting to veer off-topic.  The question is whether it's wrong to eat meat, not which methods of global food production/distribution are most efficient.

I think that aspect was relevant to the debate, since it could be argued that eating meat is wrong because it involves making profits to a method of food production whose inneffectiveness compared to others have negative consequences on both the environment and our capacity to produce cheaper food - if more people ate less meat, mass production of vegetarian food would be more profitable thus the end result would be cheaper food for all, a nice step towards reducing world hunger.

Tuna pizza is fucking awesome, you should try it sometime

I will, thanks! Had no idea this was popular Tongue

You're talking about a select few. Most of the vegans or non meat eaters here aren’t arguing about you murdering animals but of course you assume this and spring on the defensive attack with things you know will rile them.

+1
That kind of behaviour is a huge problem in all debates where emotions are implied.

I frequently have one or two meatless days per week.
That is a step in the right direction. Smiley

I have a few meat only meals a week. Sometimes it's a steak with a side of sausage. If I'm being lazy, maybe it's a just a steak with a little coarse ground sea salt.
Steak is great with some veggies like fries and grilled tomatoes Smiley

There are so many great meat dishes I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Yes you're right. For those who haven't tried such a pizza, they will be surprised. I sometimes actually prefer a tune pizza rather than any other available at the restaurant.

I don't believe killing animals for food is immoral. I believe the mistreatment of any animal is and should be fought against. But... I don't consider it any more immoral than I consider a dog eating meat immoral. Or a bear eating meat. We were made to be omnivores, and I consider it immoral to deny that.
The thing with morals is that they are developed by society, and what helps or hinders a society matters far more than personal morals. There are personal and societal morals. Someone could argue that the environmental injuries done by meat-production and consumption hurts society, and so it would be immoral. Someone else could argue that by making meat eating 'immoral' you would be starting a war on the many cultures and religions that believe there's nothing wrong with it. It's better to leave these things on a personal moral level.

Yeah, so quiet with their whining "why do you kill all those poor animals you murderers? They have feelings too!"

And  I'm not insulting anybody, I just like some ham or tuna on my pizza.

Tuna pizza?
That actually sounds surprisingly good.
