Today I have such a strong tension that I think it is necessary to permit each person to carry weapons and thus one can avoid a big spike in crime and even bore each other. The fact is that everyone knows what can get a response and will not take any steps to cause someone harm.

It's indeed necessary. Otherwise, too many people will be killed continuosly.

Yep. I agree. And everybody in the whole country should enforce gun restrictions... using their guns, of course, as a means of enforcement.

Guns should be heavily restricted because the easier it is to get them the more criminals will have them too. Of course you can't get rid of all guns but they are so difficult to get in some places that even organised crime has a very limited supply. That means your average person would need to do a hell of a lot of planning to get one, this is the reason why Europe has such low gun violence.

Agreed - Mental instability combined with not having a proper outlet for aggression.

The less training and confidence in themselves someone with a gun has, the more likely they are to use it.  I would say a good prerequisite to having a gun would be to have years of training and progression in martial arts without weapons and in particular, brazilian jiu jitsu.  A very technical martial art with no striking, and learning to deal with the aggression of others with minimal damage.  Once you've trained for around 10 years and have a black belt, you can have the option to own a gun.

But realistically, outside of the legal framework, prohibiting anything will create a black market, and at the end of the day, anyone that wants a gun and has some cash can get their hands on one regardless of gun policy.

Weapons are a deterrent for crime and violence. But if they end up in the wrong hands, then they will do more harm than good. For example, people with prior felony convictions and a history of mental illness must not be allowed to own or rent firearms. Another issue is the ownership of firearms by minors. It is quite difficult to prevent minors from accessing guns.

While this is true, nobody can get rid of all guns, as things now stand.

Since there will always be some guns around, let's all have some so that we can balance things out against those who would use guns for wrongdoing.

Weapons can not be used as a tool for peace, as strong as any weapon goal. Guns are still weapons

No one trusts the police, but all use their help. I agree that everyone should have the opportunity of self-defense with a gun, but it does not says that the police are not needed. What will you do if you attack a gang? Having a weapon you can hold out until the police arrive.

Police and security are simply people. Give all people guns so that they can protect themselves, and so that we don't need police and security. Can't trust police and security, anyway.

There will always exist a way to traffic guns inside one country... thats the reason police forces and security needs gun to protect the people..

It is necessary to control whom to issue weapons, because there are many unhealthy people who can kill and destroy for no reason.

Because of the way society is right now, the mentally unstable might need to be checked.

If society had parents who taught their children properly,
and if everyone wore guns while in public,
and if people were used to this,

Why not? They would be dead, or at least in prison. Guess how they would die?

Yes, people need to have protective equipment for their family, but they need to undergo a check for mental illness. There are many cases where unhealthy people killed members of their family in a fit of aggression.

Those who have the number have control.
No matter how well armed they are, if you're 100 times more numerous you can win.

I am against gun control 100%. I think those for gun control are missing the real reason behind crimes with a weapon. And that reason is criminals don’t care about laws. You can make all the laws you want and there will still be crime. Proof of this is countries that ban civilians from possessing a firearm and yet people are still being killed by firearms. Japan for example has very restrictive firearm laws yet criminals there still kill people and rob people with firearms.

The only way to reduce crime is to scare the bejesus out of criminals. Not be all sweet on them. They steal a car they get beat with the caning punishment used in other countries. This is a very painful punishment and imprints their mind that stealing results in extreme pain. Public executions such as hanging should be used and televised.
We need to enforce the laws we have. Its illegal to kill, rob, assault others, etc do those laws prevent that? No. So how is banning weapons going to stop that?
Banning firearms or restricting firearms only disarms the law biding and make them easy prey for criminals.
Example; why do some drunk drivers have over a dozen convictions? Did the law against driving drunk stop them? No! But I would bet you $100 that if you beat the hell out of them with a wooden cane after the 2nd conviction you wouldn’t see as many repeat drunk drivers! And if you executed a drunk driver for killing some one I know they wont be a repeat offender.

So lets get tough on the criminals and help not hinder the public to defend themselves.
