Right what you say, I also see that. every Btc price rises, other coins also go up, and vice versa. when the Btc price goes down, other coins also go down. By looking at that, I judge that the price of Bitcoin has a huge effect on the price of other coins.
Maybe it depends to the strategy of investors because when the bitcoin was booming I don't see altcoins growing they all are down instead, they think that they will get profit with bitcoin than holding their altcoins so that they recover their losses, maybe that is why the market still down.
If you ever read in beginning the appearance of bitcoin this thing is not valid, where if bitcoin increase it's not impact to the altcoin price, just these past 2 years that thing happen where bitcoin is being prime and have big impact to altcoin. But these 2 weeks i see bitcoin is increase but is not following by another altcoin.
I think a lot of us used to think that Bitcoin prices directly influences the market. When Bitcoin's value went down a lot of
altcoins also dipped down and when it got better, things started to look green. There may be times when it's the contrary,

We all know that the bitcoin is the leader of the board in the market cap and bit oi is also the reference value of the token and other altcoins in the coin market , so if the bitcoin will rise ,the other altcoins value would also rise ,and when it fall almost all altcoin will aldo be falling.
There is no way that we can deny this fact that bitcoin has a major role in helping the entire crypto currency in gaining this much of the fame and popularity and that all other crypto coins greatly depends on bitcoin in so many ways. as we see the exchange rates or altcoin prices mostly use bitcoin, so of course if bitcoin goes down a lot from traders would prefer to save their money in FIAT first or hold bitcoin instead of buying altcoin / trading, this causes a decrease in altcoin because there is no demand as crowded as the price of bitcoin rises. In this year the price of Crypto really cannot be predicted because it is very unstable. this is all the cause is that there are too many FUDs about crypto which scares all investors who want to invest again. if the investor is not interested with crypto may market will remain like this until the end of the year.
Yes that’s true, just what I was arguing with someone some hours ago, he was claiming that whenever the price of Bitcoin is rising that all altcoins must follow, and I was telling him that’s a lie, it’s only coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum that rises, most of other altcoins will always go down. I have seen several times and that’s the reason why I don’t invest much in altcoins cause Bitcoin seems to be better.In this year the price of Crypto really cannot be predicted because it is very unstable. this is all the cause is that there are too many FUDs about crypto which scares all investors who want to invest again. if the investor is not interested with crypto may market will remain like this until the end of the year.
There isn't enough bitcoina for all of us, people are turning to other alts for years and that will not stop. Bitcoin will push entire market up, I already gave you first reason, second is that most of the prices are bitcoins, using bitcoins for buying will affect bitcoin price and alts price you buying. Bitcoin has high dominance on crypto market, last year we witnessed how bitcoin lose dominance from more then 50% to 33% I believe, when bitcoin start to rise again market will follow, but that's long run, when price go back to 20 thousand dollars again and more, when we are about short runs most of the prices are independent.
It's hard to understand and explain crypto market in couple sentences. Observe market for years and make conclusions, mine is that bitcoin and alts are tightly connected, that was proven many times and it will be proven again in the future.
Well, I don't think so. Not all the crypto currency follow suit to thw movement of Bitcoin. I've seen a downward trend for bitcoin, but for other crytpo currency it was up. I think the top 10 crypto currency follow suit with Bitcoin simply because when people sell their bitcoin, they also have other coins that they would sell too.

I read one post online and the author was saying that we shouldn’t leave our money in altcoins when BTC market is in bull run because we are going to lose them, and we should also do the same when Bitcoin market is falling. He said that the only time we should leave our money in altcoins is only when Bitcoin is in normal growth. Only the big markets follows Bitcoin, just like ETH and XRP.

Many people are predicting a fast recovery but I simply do not see it, there was enthusiasm some weeks ago when the price was growing fast but now things have changed once again and the price is going down, I really think that one of the reasons people eventually sell their coins for a bad price has to do with the fact they have too high expectations out of their investment in bitcoin, they think they are going to become millionaires in a few months and that is not going to happen.

See today market is red both bitcoin and altcoins are again statred to decrease. The market is analysed by bitcoin price always, now the market again starts to decrease. I was really shocked on the 3rd of August, 2018 when bitcoin rose a little, almost all the other alts were lighted green That means that the rise of bitcoin has much influence on the prices of other altcoins. Bitcoin price is now determining the market for the crypto business.

my opinion is because I think the average cryptocurrency uses Bitcoin as the main money,So if the price Bitcoin down and Cryptocurrency using Bitcoin will come down
