It's hard to tell when to sell the altcoins. Because if it is rising it can be tempting. But at the same time if you hold too long it may crash fast and then you have nothing for a while until it rises again.

It is best time to sell when the price is bigger than the amount you bought it. If you want to earn more you can hold for a long time and check and analyze the date of price of you coin. Then you can make a plan or set a goal of an amount you want to earn for ypu to know when to sell your coin.

When the target we have done is achieved. sometimes when we hold it certainly has a target when it will sell it. as I have said at the moment the price is down and we must hold it. determine the price when you will make a sale

Just wondering if ya'll have a typical formula you go by or a certain X percentage profit or loss.

I've been playing around with coins for just under a month now. $23750 total investment and currently up just under 10k in profit. One of the coins (IOTA) has gone up about 288%.  Obviously it would suck if it crashed but it would equally suck to sell if it continues to grow.

Just wondering what a lot of you folks do. I'm considering investing another 25 or 50k into coins. Ideally I'd like to net 15k a month off them but I know that may not be realistic on a monthly basis.

I am not very good at setting the right time, so I usually set specific sales targets by myself, and I prefer not to do anything unless my sales price reaches that price. Of course I prefer to evaluate the fluctuations from time to time, but I prefer not to use it for my personal expenses as long as the main param does not reach the target I set. Although the time target does not make much sense to me, it is very rarely self-timed, but it can be clearly stated that I am intensively targeting on the amount of money or price.
I think it's up to those of you who want to sell altcoins. but I am not smart to predict when is the right time to sell altcoins. but we before selling must see the market first.

My strategy is that everytime I hold some coin , I designated my target price so I dont need to think wether to sell it of not . For example my target price is $1 so everytime my coin hits $1 ,I sell it already .

The time to sell my coin depends on the coin itself. There are some coins that do not worth hodling for long. For coins like this,  just wait  little to have the price that suites me. Although, if it does not increase and keeps plunging in would sell and go for another coin that has good prospects. Most times , i wait for coins like this to have percentage profit of 30-50%.
On the other hand, if a coin is good and it looks interesting to me, i can hold for as long as i want. For coins like this, i allow them to remain for more than a year before selling. Most times, i would wait for more than 100% increase.

To be able to see the price will go down or up is to do some analysis, namely technical and fundamental analysis, by doing this analysis we can predict or see signs of price changes that will occur, but everyone will be different, because of the accuracy imperfect, so we need to be careful in analyzing and using our capital.

The volatility of altcoins makes it difficult to know when exactly to sell. However what I normally do is to look at the price at which a particular altcoin is trading in the market once it is listed. In an instance where it is listed and it matches the ICO price, it is likely I might sell and vice versa. In a situation where I see a significant rise in the value of the altcoin, I wait for sometime before selling. If the value of the altcoin is falling drastically, I hold till the value recovers then I sell. Ideally, when to know that a particular altcoin is ready for sale depends on how the holder sees the altcoin to be performing in the cryptocurrency market.

Of course when the price has increased, right? If you get the coin from the bounty then you will be very lucky if the price goes up to reach the ICO or exceed it. You can also take advantage of the available indicators to determine the right timing to sell them so that you get the maximum benefit.

If you want to sell the tokens, then sell them right after entry into the exchanges. Further the price of them only falls. Seldom what project manages to hold or even to raise the price of the token.

Your statement is simply not true. Many tokens has perform well after hitting the market. I am sorry, that you did not have any successful tokens. The most important is how is the project doing, is it moving forward or it is going down. If I decide that the project is promising, I will hold as long as I believe that I see progress.

Its actually depends on the holder of the coin. Usually they have different goals. The basic assumption is that when the price of your crypto exceeded the price when you bought it. When that happens, you can already sell it because its a sure profit for you. But there are some who has a particular amount that they want to achieve.
Yes, that is true, depending on one's needs. for me if the price of altcoin goes up I will sell it. I'm not the type of person waiting for Altcoin to go to the moon. I only sell Altcoin when prices rise slightly.

Its time to sell your altcoins when you are in profit. Any percentage as long as you are in profit minus the charges is a good time to sell. Buy back again at lower price and sell again at a higher price for a profit and do it again and again. The major aim trading is t save your capital and gain profit.

As I have said this strategy is very simple and good but you can put it into practice only if you're an experienced trader with strong nerves, and the market regularly gives waves of different sizes. Now, in the falling market, it's hard to work with this strategy!

Yes, a market that is difficult to predict makes this simple strategy hesitant to run. Dealing with the current market situation requires higher market analysis skills.

You are right, depending on the analysis of each coin owner. Everyone must have a different buying point, so the target point of sale is also different. Then you should study the analysis technique using indicators available on the chart to determine the right timing.

For me it was when my wife and kids left me and I was left homeless.  I would recommend selling before it hit's that point though.  J/k

Seriously the time for selling talk is over.  You should have done that a while back.  Buying is what is needed now.  Always do what is the most difficult and more times than not you will succeed.  The time to sell your altcoins is when the do a moon shoot and deserve nowhere close to the market valuation they are sitting at.

To know  the right time to sell your alternativecoins is when the last quarter of the year comes because there’s a big possibility of earning a huge amount of income or profit in this quarter because of the flow of the law of the demand.

Its opportunity to pitch when its opportunity to offer. When you discover the cost is at its pinnacle, its opportunity to offer. I do hold up longer and I can hold up til the cost outperformed the ATH however for somebody like me who is in crypto who are simply endeavoring to get rich yet endeavoring, I can offer at whatever point I require the cash. Altcoins doesn't rise so much except if the task is genuine great like ETH or presumably a fork of good coins.
