I don't think it will take too long. Maybe the cryptocurrency should rise again in the last month to two months. I have observed that the recent capital admission is very huge, and the fund and more institutions are entering. This is a good signal, wait patiently.
I don't know when the price will be stable but i don't want that to happen either. If you want stability then you should stay away from crypto, the volatile nature of crypto is one of the factors that make me interested in trading crypto. Without that then it's better to go back trading stocks as it is safer.
I hope the relative stability may appear in the beginning of 2019.

Making a good prediction doesn't make you wrong, and doesn't mean that it make you right. The true answer for this is just we are just into a prediction, but only the market really decides on when the coins and altcoins will be stable again. When you see that the market is going to recovery and is not going down again, I can say in prediction that the coins and altcoins are going to stable mode and going to rise again soon.

I think that the market can become more stable only when all governments release their own crypto-currencies, which will be tied to the real economies of these countries. If you want to hold long term now is the good time to buy. Even if you want to hold just a year or so now is your chance. Only if you are looking for short term profit you should wonder what to do. If you are here for the long run go for it. If not then go for ICOs, why because most of ICOs are listing below ICO price at the moment which is pretty great, they’ll get listed after a long time and I hope the market will recover till then. Do some research on these Liven, Treon and Qurrex, these are my favorite projects.
Nobody really knows when altcoins will be stable again. The cryptocurrency market is always unpredictable. But now it looks better than some weeks ago. I think the market will be stable in the next months on summer. But it will depends also on the news of the G20 summit.
I think that no stable price because this is a volatile market base on supply and demand. They won't be stable and that is the challenge. The point of this market is buy low and then sell high, if the price is stable then it will be hard to earn huge profit.
Bitcoin won't get to be stable, same is the scenario with other altcoins as well. Most probably the price will tend to be stable around the end of the year 2018. As ethereum is not that high fluctuating altcoins will grow high and stagger within limits at the earliest to increase the market circulation.
I see all coins to be stable again at the end of September based on my little analysis done. I am not using expect views but my own experience that I got from being in this community. The crypto market was designed this way and those who control it will always do this.

They'll never be stable. Atleast not in the next 15-18 months time frame. There is no clear regulation so panic is out there among all the investors and traders. This panic causes the volatility.

I agree. Might take some time to fully stabilize.
Also, Chinese New Year is on February 16. And that might have an effect on the market. So I'd play it safe until around end of February.
