in my room back on early 2012 IIRC. I actually tried to mine using my GPU but something (forgot) made me gave up and lost interest until 2013.
the first time i know about "bitcoin" is in middle 2013 i see freebitco.in ads at PTC, then i read it , but im not sure bitcoin is something special, then i forget it.
in middle 2014 i see bitcoin ads again, from faucet too then i try to earning with faucet and make bitcoin wallet at blockchain.info

in my personal exprience, the first time when i heard about bitcoin, from my local group on facebook, my friend told me that he was earned money by trading bitcoin then i googled some information about bitcoin, so far this is the best online payment that i ever used
My friend introduced me to bitcoins saying that its gonna be a future currency, and I was quiet impressed with the overall structure of bitcoins, and I decided to enter the world of bitcoins.

Sad to hear that you missed the boat or else you would a rich guy today, but anyways its good you still had faith in bitcoins and you got into it later, as we are gonna rich guys in future, no doubt we have to wait, but just remember that patience pays.

Yep, that's the idea. Bitcoin like any other new thing when heard for the first time can be really suspicious. That is why it's easier to patronize Bitcoin if you have a friend that vouched for it.

i heard about bitcoin when the price has been 1000$ it was great up there but for me it was hard to get some bitcoins
Yeah even I heard for the first time when the price was $1k and at that time it was not possible for me to afford even a half bitcoin, so I waited long to buy a bitcoin and finally I bought when the price dropped to $250 as it was affordable for me.
