5K dollars is a good amount for investing Ethereum. It's still the most time-tested and perspective coin among all the alts. I also like Dot, Lite and Stellar. You can try some of these coins. But don't listen to those traders who say: Ripple is the best. Most of my friends, who trade Ripple, got scammed
Your friends are not the only ones who lost money trading Ripple! But I believe in Dot too, it's a new coin and project, but I think it's very promising.

You better to invest in the top altcoins than investing in DeFi tokens because it known as a pumps and dumps scheme, it's really risky if you invest in DeFis project. Just go to the top altcoins like ethereum, binance coin, cardano and etc.. then hold for long term, don't invest one altcoin only split your $5k in some altcoins.

That is a good piece of advice. Top 10 cmc coins are safe investment. In those top 10 too, diversify your investment. Buy at least 3 coins, hold them and just a year from now you will see your money grows.

UniSwap is a good choice indeed but there are better coins coming into the market and I would suggest you to buy and hold some Cardano because it might be the next big coin in coming times, it has always remain relevant and now with more work being done by their team, I am really excited for their future.

That said, take no advice from me or anyone else and just do your own research because all of us are only learning and if you search and analyze yourself you feel more confident later if the market gets shaky. Instead when you invest because someone else recommended you about it, then you will start panicking as soon as the price falls down by a small amount.

I hope I am not too late, seeing when the topic started:Smiley Roll Eyes

First, OP should study the cryptocurrency industry very closely, do as much as you can to understand the blockchain technology which is the first, check the track record of projects you find comfortable to invest in, check for the team, check for the number of years the project has been in existence, check also for the viability of their product. I did the same for my Earnbet investment and so far, this is one investment that has paid me with decent ROI since I start staking and playing BET games in my free hours. Couple with the % increase in token price since I first bought.

Take your time, don't rush into it. And I hope you pick the best one.

To invest in crypto you must have an initial goal. Are you looking to invest long term or short term? If you want to invest in the long term then you should look for information about which altcoins have the potential to rise in the future. and if you want to invest in the short term then you also have to do the same thing, namely looking for information on which altcoins are currently trending and have large demand and volume.

$5k is quite a large amount, coins that you must have are bitcoin and ethereum because these two coins are very good and have potential in the future and the rest you can see in the top 20 coinmarketcap, just little advice too "don't invest in too much defi"

Right now ethereum seems to be a better pick, because bitcoin has gone high in value for a common man to invest. Based on various expertise prediction, the price of ethereum is predicted to touch atleast $10k. Investing at the moment with $5000 will get you 3 ETH at the present price. With patience one can get promised $30000 in long term based on market prediction.

Well if you are going to ask me then what I would recommend is that you go for Bitcoin and Ethereum. No other coins for investment. Time and again these has been proven coins that could help you in your quest for financial freedom. Many have used it, I have used it and profited handsomely with it so you should do the same and you will not regret your decision just in case you seriously entered investing your money on crypto.

Buy with half this amount BCH, it had an ATH of about 4.5k per coin and it's now at 400$ and the rest invest it in another coin that way you diversify your portfolio.

Yes you may invest it in uniswap. In stocks they always advice people to invest in blue chips coins that is the ideal coins for newbie and for those who has a small amount of assets maybe you should do it too, invest your $5000 only in the top 10 coins in the market or 15 and see their volume and market cap so you will have an idea in the next week if they are going to be pump or dump. They said uni will pump or will have a high value in the following days I'm not sure tho but if it's true I think this is the right time to buy.

I should probably invest in polkadot or ethereum. Their market trend and status is so promising. Polkadot shows a great price increase in the market and consistency while ethereum is doing its finest to really become green everyday.
wise of ya~polkadot and ethereum are promising

The amount is quite enough to collect several top altcoins. I invested my money in Ethereum and Litecoin. In my opinion, these are the most adequate projects for today. Although Polkadot may well compete with Ethereum. Check out the latest ratings, explore the options that you like the most.

If you prepare it for the altcoin season, top altcoins should be the priority to buy. You can choose ETH, TRX, XLM, LINK, DOT, ADA, and other potential top altcoins to buy. Just look at the current update about the issues of those coins and how good the price chart looks. Nowadays, the price of altcoins can easily increase because of good news, so it can be considered as well. Besides you also need to analyze the price chart and some fundamental factors to buy the best among the top altcoins. Good luck, mate!!

Top DeFi tokens might still get you rekt, if you want to invest for long-term holding the best coin to invest in is bitcoin, they are still alot of price speculation going around that its going to hit $50k soon, it's around ~$30k now if it eventually pumps to $50k that's x4 for you, one thing I can say for sure is that no one who invested in bitcoin and held it for long term ever lost their money, I believe they all got their money in x10, but anyway I'm no financial advisor, do a good research and invest wisely.

if in look at the current market conditions it is too risky to buy because the market is difficult to guess for today only the decline occurred better to wait instead of having to lose after market conditions returned to green my only suggestion is ethereum because ethereum has the potential to rise high

Hi guy,

In my opinion, UNI has done too well for high quality defi, it changed shades very quickly over 300% when listed on Coinbase and Binance.  This is like a proof of potential and really promising to embed.  In addition, ETH is still the big brother of altcoin.  confidence added to DOT.  That's all I decided for my $ 7k.  So your 5k $, do fine.  good luck
How can we force others to think like ours? We all have our different thoughts about our experiences. I won't invest my 5K or 7K USD in top altcoins. You know cryptocurrency is now volatile and it will stay like this until this year, risky investment will be more profitable.
