See some altcoins list on the coinmarketcap and strictly find the best one, range your choice in the top 50 in ranking list, and possible, only invest on those coins with low value and low volume.

Ive never bought any coins before and am considering opening an account while the coins are low

How would you invest $1000 - 2000

Thanks
Buy bitcoin, but don't use all your money or maybe research first is good because a lot of people said bitcoin will be down again. Maybe use 25% of your money, and save rest for back up if price down again.

I see. You should first read what Bitcoin really is before you invest, you should know what you are going to invest to because most of the time, people just put their egg in a single basket hoping to get rich, and when a dump happen, they follow. If you are still new, Investing in Bitcoin is a good choice because it's down right now and it naturally grows unlike 99% of altcoins.
Yes right, investing in Bitcoin is a very good idea, because Bitcoin is Crypto the most superior of all Crypto, so there is nothing to worry about investing in Bitcoin. But for beginners, you must learn the science of investing in Bitcoin, because the risk is very large.

Well, to begin with, I would advise you not to invest, but rather to get some knowledge about crypto. At least basic, so you understand what's what. With the right approach, you can quickly increase your capital by trading a variety of coins. But if you are considering a long-term investment, then here I will join with the above views and also advise you to buy bitcoin or ether.

You don't need to dig deep now. Just invest in BTC and ETH. The whole market has dropped so low, so in long term it would be a miracle if you won't get a very good reward. Just be patient.

BTW avoid small cap coins and projects which are going to make a swap someday - there is a chance to lose your investments if you wont swap them in proper time.

And buy hardware wallet to be safe.

I think that at the moment it is too early to invest, but when the market is at least a little down, then It will be possible to buy bitcoin Ethereum, EOS, Ripple and OMG. And do not invest in any case if, for example, the price of Bitcoin rises to 4000 dollars.

If you don't have any kind of knowledge in this ecosystem then gain some knowledge then start investing. Show the market's ups and down follow top listed coins their price. If you new then I will suggest at first go for some big market cap coins like Bitcoin ethereum eos cardano ripple. And keep in mind first follow the market then invest. And don't put your money in one coin. Always make a mixed portfolio. Always fill your portfolio's 30-40% with bitcoin. And don't invest all your money in single time. Invest a portion then wait for some time to see the market trends. That's it good luck for your first investment and welcome to this crypto world.

I just want to suggest you as a beginner to choose an altcoin in the top 10 as an investment. You can choose it according to your plan. If you think it's the right time to buy, because the price is cheap, maybe Bitcoin will be the right choice. Hmm, will you choose a long or short term investment?

I would recommend to start with the most popular coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum. If you do not have any experience in the crypto world, then stay away from coins that are outside the top 20 crypto currencies.

At the moment there are a sufficient number of coins that have a good growth rate over the past two years. Explore the top 30 cryptocurrency, choose the best product in your opinion, and over time you will get experience and understanding of the market with minimal risk

Please don't ask any recommendation anymore in here. You should learn how market is running firstly. This recommendation is not cool. Don't forget, no one knows everything! You can learn and trade how your style is. Recommendation may harm you and be the reason of your loose money. Don't ask anyone read and decide yourself and live with it.

This is my latest post in this forum;

This is a serious amount of postings thrown in the forum. Which ICO should invest in.

Friends The ICO investment involves huge risks. And the ICOs on the forum have teams of these counts. The purpose of these teams is marketing. It's very unlikely that you will suffer from comments in this way. It's too risky to invest in an ICO just because someone says it.

I think beginners will invest only in old proven perspectives and will be right.
The cryptocurrency market is now in the process of becoming so you need to take care of the coins in which you invested and wait until the cryptocurrency market recovers completely to get a good result.

Allocate your funds for different coins and it should be like 60% for bitcoin then the remaining may used for buuying altcoin if you are interested on altcoins.Coins like ethereum and XRP maybe good for short term but you need to be clear about what kind of investor you are before buying cryptos.

Personally, my first investment experience was in major currencies from the top 5, such as BTC, ETH. But I also recommend keeping the generally accepted fiat currency, in case of any corrections, in this case you can always buy something, thereby reducing the risks.

For a beginner, it is better to choose projects under the direction of some more experienced comrade in these things. If you have never dealt with investments before you will almost certainly make a mistake in choosing a project. Trusting a project is worthwhile only after you have thoroughly studied it.

For those who are starting their adventure with cryptocurrencies, it is best to start with the safest coins, so top10 on Coinmarketcap.com.
Choose 5 coins, read about them and decide. I think that a basket of 5 coins is enough for you at the beginning.
By purchasing a larger number of coins, you distribute the risk - remember not to pack all eggs in one basket.
