BTC is one of the most popular cryptocurrencies, Even some people don't know what cryptocurrency is and how it works, But they are listening about BTC. If we get big news about the news that crypto receives, That is the maximum time of BTC. So, We can think the future of BTC is bright. And ETH is one of the most popular platforms for developing tokens. Cardano also does good. And BNB is a Binance exchange token. Binance is a popular exchange with good trading volume. That's why I prefer those 4 coins first.

The OP has got really some great thing to discuss.
I would like to add some more discussion to it.
More is the marketcap of the coin, more is the chances that the coin will go on long run.
So it would be better to choose coins like Bitcoins and Ethereum for long run.
I am holding Bitcoins from last 2 years when the price was around 10k usd, now Bitcoins at 50k usd. I am really enjoying my profit.

We see that the list of top currencies is changing very significantly within time.

Three years ago: top-5 included Bitcoin cash and Ripple, but they have been replaced by BNB and Cardano, so it is really difficult to say what currencies will be the most popular in the future.
We can judge from the idea and technologies that are at the core, and from this side, I will say that Polkadot is my darling now.

I also often choose the four coins you mentioned, but for now I'm more often considering ETH, Matic and also BNB for my long term investment and to protect my portfolio from other junk coins.

No need to just stick with coins that have a market cap of over $10 Billion. I will not mention any but there are also lots of precious coins under that market cap with a good trading volume on regular basis. You just need to be good at coin sniping. It's always better that while you are holding top coins, diversify some on lower coins.

With the right DYOR, you can soon spot a worthy coin to invest in.

BTC will always be the king of cryptocurrency and is definitely going to stay here for the long haul. There's no doubt about that.
Aside from Bitcoin, ETH, ADA, LTC, and BNB are notable coins too in terms of their cutting-edge technologies and use cases. I might as well mention this sleeping giant called XSN, the native crypto of Stakenet. A steady growing project that also holds massive growth potentials.

Most of the people invest in different coins. All pf the users have different point of views. But in my opinion, I think that Cardano and Ethereum are best for long term investment. You should buy these coins and hold it for long term investment. It will give you much more advantages and will give you more profit after holding for long time.

Based from the experience on my friend, first is bitcoin then next is ethereum. I say he has a lot of patience because she managed to hold her earning (bitcoin) last 2017 or 2018 up to now then hold she sold some eth last year and still on her wallet right now. Although she hold small bitcoin and sold small amount of eth, it is still a good investment. She holds because her reason is she can't buy or own bitcoin once more if she sold it already. She also believes that bitcoin will grow more so she will earn more.

For myself it is clear bitcoin is very good for the long term. Considering the credibility of btc so far so good. However, it is possible that ETH is also very good to be used as a long-term investment. These are my two best options. Which has given a change in the economic aspect of my life.

If Tron is so cool, why not so many projects are made on it? Perhaps there are some underwater stones in Tron? I personally find it a bit complicated to use. I always forgot about bandwidth and energy. Few times I was in situation, when I need to make a transaction, but I have ran out of energy.

Tell me please last things Tron made or upgraded in their blockchain technology? Or what they plan to do. Because that would impact on a future price growth. I bet you cant name anything. That is why Tron will follow market directions, and not make a huge grow by itself. Doubtful investment imho.

Old question but i will answer it base on my opinion. Crypto currency that is best for a long term investment for Bitcoin and ethereum. In the past few years they still in top on all the altcoin in the market thats why no doubt that this two crypto coins is the best investment for long term holding. Every year they make a history of their price pumping and see whats their price now thousand dollars that other cant afford to have one.

I dont think investing long term in altcoins would be highly profitable… Bitcoin been the first tier crypto currency is still the number one crypto to invest in for long time purposes and ethereum could also be highly profitable for long time investment…. Bnb and solana are also some altcoin you can invest in
