My guess is eth. BTC is taking a big hit as we speak...
For me bitcoin won't fall and it will be king forever. Etherum is a coin that will be trying to catch bitcoin but it will be on second place, but don't be worry cause those two coins on first and second possition making market possible to invest for me and they are making movements of other alts in some way.

bitcoin is still the best for me. no one can beat it in this year, or even for a long time. bitcoin community still bigger than ethereum although both have a huge community which always increases every time.
I think Bitcoin is still the leading coin in the Crypto market in 2018. Nothing makes Bitcoin fall sharply and other altcoins go up. When Bitcoin falls, other altcoin decreases. And I think from all altcoin nothing can surpass the bitcoin price. Because bitcoin is the parent of all altcoin.
I bet on the ETH. However I predict that various alts from positions below 50(coinmarketcap) may grow extremely strong - there's a significant number of potentially strong projects out there.

Among the alts and analogies can not be. Ether even in spite of a huge drop will still remain in the lead, but it is already worth considering that many coins are not so far from it and are able at any moment to throw off the throne. So we are waiting for the coup of the whole market next year.
Of course BTC. There is no altcoin without BTC. Right now (maybe for a couple of years) there is no blockchain without BTC. I don't mean blockchain technology is not available, cuz btc is the voice of blockchain and ALTs. We all withnessed last 2 months. All alts just got rekt with btc's movements...

There is always one king and Bitcoinis the King in this space, any Altcoins that would love to dethrone it will have to offer something great, I just believe BTC is what hold the space together, it something happen to it then we will all ark our bag and say goodbyes.

The king is only one, and it is BTC. ETH/NEO are selected but i do not think they will be able to attract such investments and take the main place.

The position open is for the second, third and less, cause bitcoin remains the KING for 2018, and no coin can take that position anytime soon. ETH is the only coin close to that position, cause of it's widely used by other coins and companies, but still can't take the place of bitcoin.
It's almost impossible for Bitcoin to fall from the top but I do believe Ethereum will continue to grow rapidly.
A little coin is known, they are quietly developed, their Blockchain technology is superior to both BTC and ETH, trading them up to 100 times faster than ETH. That is CMT co. I think they can go up dramatically next year. So I'm buying and holding them. CMT is the king of Cryptocurrency in 2018. 
If btc will stop dancing,i think new project Ary can make it.Wtc+Ven in one.Nice roadmap 2018 as well

So, what your choice? bitcoin or ethereum will be the new king in cryptocurrency? I just think if bitcoin and ethereum are complementary in the crypto world. Both have an influence on the future of virtual currency, because bitcoin will always be the first choice of investors to start investing and ethereum will always be a bridge to start and create a virtual currency. For me, bitcoin is king in cryptocurrency and ethereum is queen in cryptocurrency, and it will not be replaced.

absolutely yes, Ethereum will win since 2018 the ico or token offers taking over a whole of crypto space and more country joining this hype
But Ethereum is not only system to build tokens on, there is NEO too, and this year its going to be big!
Although I do think that ETH and even XRP could eventually pass BTC, I don't think it will happen this year.
I'm expecting BTC to lead the market recovery in the first half of the year, and to get a significant boost from LN. ETH and XRP might have to wait a little longer.

I choose only bitcoin as a king of cryptocurrency,no one will ever defeated btc as a king of all coins.Eth is always next to bitcoin because of the good development in the market.They are both good coins to invest as of now,and top of the year 2018.
Really hard to speculate on this topic mate, but imo after LN hits and the BTC network get's not so much decentralized, which was the main point for creating BTC 
I, personally am looking now for other projects to invest my btc into and I really like what I see in ETH and NEO, but that's ofc my persona opinion.
ETH at this price is just great tbh.. really good ETH/BTC ratio to buy in.

I remain convinced that in this year bitcoin will remain king of all crypto currencies, no one will be able to beat this bitcoin in 2018
