Some people selling their altcoins so soon because they get worry that it will dump soon and it will lose value as time passes by. But some also choose to hold their altcoins hoping the price will pump more. As for me it really depends on the project whether to hold it or sell it right away. There are altcoins that are for long term.
I sell some coins in which I don’t see prospects anymore, their teams could not achieve the desired result, I don’t want to keep them and hope for a miracle, therefore I sell them.

I think there is 2 reason why we were selling altcoin so soon. One is because we don't want to wait for another time to see the price increase back. And two, we need money to buy something for our daily needs. That is what happens with some of my friends; they are cut loss their altcoin to get the money back even if they are losing too much in altcoin. But they don't withdraw all the money, and they still left some amount in their account just in case the price can get lower than now.

I don't think we can compare pieces of art with blockchain. The former have the unicity, the latter become outdated. You may store these coins for 10-20 years, but you have little chance of becoming rich.

In simple words...Altcoins can strongly fall in price and even die... So it's a risky to hold them...
