It is said that Christ loved us first, so he would not condemn me for trying to take responsibility for my own life. Jesus is the "standard for love", he came to show us the Christ way and that means that we must be responsible for our actions.
Christ is not a name, it is a state of goodness and emotional sanctity in accordance with the golden rule; no one can follow the "New Commandment" of Jesus by just "sitting there". Life transforms with love, not laziness. Christ is calling YOU, BADecker; give up your magical thinking and follow Jesus' New Commandment.
"There is none other commandment greater than these", "this do, and thou shalt live."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Commandment#InterpretationsWhatever taking responsibility for your own life means, the only way to participate in salvation, is to take the responsibility for yourself to believe in Jesus as your Savior.
Is the word God a name of God? Not by what God says. Yet many people understand that "God" is the name of God, because they have so named Him. "Christ" has become an accepted name of Jesus. Not because Jesus said that it should be. But because people started calling Him by that Name. Originally it was Jesus the Christ, that is the Messiah.
Messiah means "anointed one." The Messiah of the Old Testament was expressed to be not only an anointed one, but one who saves. Jesus fills the description, and the fulfills the O.T. prophesies. Jesus is the Messiah, the Savior, the Christ.
In a construction job, there is a foreman who runs the show. The foreman is both a position and the guy that fills the position. Jesus is the Messiah, and also the guy who fills the Messiah position.
