Those who buy cryptos at high prices and then sell at low prices to cut losses are usually those who haven't experienced in investing, just listening to the advice of friends or watching the signal trading channel and follow. They will be slow, buy cryptos at peak rates, after they purchase the cryptos rate will fall quickly, leading to FOMO psychology and eventually they will sell to cut losses Smiley)

I've been one of those people, the people that buy at the high points of crypto and then sell low, losing my money and then later on losing out on a good amount of profits which I could've made. I'd like to know some of the reasons that people do this, besides doing it to cut their losses as that one is my reason.

Thanks guys!

definitely your correct! because of some situation that people need the money , when they buy coins at high cost and they expect to sell for good price but comes the situation that the price drops so they have no choice but to sell the coins in order to fulfill their needs of emergency.
We cannot avoid if situations like this come to our lives. Yes, we often hodl and plan to sell at high prices so that there will be big profit but sometimes things just don't go how the way we plan it. Expecting that everything will go according to plan and then here comes the need for money at certain situations (where we are forced to sell even if we don't like to) is just depressing. This had also happened to me many times but instead of being sad, I enlighten myself thinking that it is sold at low prices but is used for important things or important person. It is very helpful because it tends to lighten the mood and lessen the regret.

A lot of people in the CryptoCurrency world are buying in a high price and selling it low price, there's a possible reason why it is happened. I think they sold their coins because of panic that happened right now in the market and they need a money for their daily needs and there's a emergency happened that they need to sell their coin.

I think that in any situation it is not necessary to panic and be afraid, the cryptocurrency market may fall and may rise, never hurry, even if your coin has now fallen in price but it is promising the greater the likelihood that it will recover throughout the year.

You are just committing the mistake of panic selling mate. Buying at high prices and selling at low is not a characteristic of a good investor. In order to earn profits you should know in which coin you should invest and what is the best price to buy and sell that coin. You get panic by noticing a dip in the price and then you think that price will fall more and you sell your coins facing huge loss.It is difficult to predict the rise and fall of any coin but still I will advise you to trust the coin in which you are investing and hold them instead of selling them at low prices.Maybe the price rises in the future and make you earn huge profits .This will be better than the regret you will have  after selling them at low prices.

That is why in trading there is a rule of "you have to control your emotion". You are the one of panic buying and selling. Maybe sometimes you do day trading, you just go with the flow when the whale play the coins. the pump and down and in the end your money will stock in that coins and then you decide to sell it in low price. And honestly I have been there in that situation and now I learned from it.

Normally great investors look for the prices to buy cryptocoins and sell them when there is a hike in the crypto market which helps to earn good returns on their investment whereas there are some people who look to make money easily by investing all their  money in one single basket when the prices of the cryptocurrencies are high they will buy cryptocoins on credit and when there is a drop due to fear or panic they will sell it off.

Panic leads to such situations. Every time the coin starts falling by 5-10%, people begin fearing the worst that the coin would lose all of its value, and hence, people begin panic selling. This leads in price falling even further and hence people contributing to the dump. As a result of this, the big whales get an ideal opportunity to buy the same coins at a lower price and make the profit. This has been the trend since the very beginning.

When I was new in trading I feel the same way because every time I see that my coins drop I feel I'm losing and losing so end up to panic selling then I lose some part of my money then I realize patience is the key and proper knowledge, now I always research and study on the coin or token I'm going to trade.
The goal of investing is to sell something at a price that's higher than what the investor paid to buy it. The problem investors face is determining when prices are low enough to indicate a buy and high enough to decide that selling is the best choice.
Or it can also be the case that investor become impatient or lose trust in bitcoin. Actually it is the case most of the time. People do not understand bitcoin or their respective investment tool very well and whenever there is a bad time, they leave their asset in the lurch according to their thought of saving themselves from any further loss. Most of the bitcoin investors show this behavior during the dump and that becomes regret in the future.

For me this happens to newbie. When they panic, they sell in low price. Having a thought that the market will never go up. Instead of holding their investment and sell on the right time. They make a decision to sell now having the thought that the market will go down more.

Well that's crazy you can't save money for that. I think people would be like that if they are panicking about on something that they are not sure if the price will never rise up

Basically people buy high and sell low because they want to cut their losses especially if the are traders. If not in trading will will rather HODL and sell low and wait for the time it will rise again to sell

Definitely you are one of those panic sellers. When price is high, you buy because of thinking that those coins will still go up to the moon without realizing that sooner or later, the price drops. And when the price drops, you sell them because you think that it may keep on decreasing. Those moment, you are panicking and thinking that its better to sell in lw price than to have nothing.
Apparently one of them. A lot of people have always made this mistake anyway and it seems no matter how we keep saying it, people will keep falling for it. They buy into FOMO, the whales see that as a spot to strike since there are already weak hands and greedy guys in the market, and then it all starts and then people like OP panic easily since they have no understanding of the market's volatility and then sell low only to realize the market recovering and coming back higher than before. We do not always say HODL for fun, it is from experience.
This is so common and happens everyday the volatility of the market that shakens every emotions of a trader that fell into a panic attack that is become a buy high sell low. You're right a Fomo for all of these traders and becoming greedy to earn more for short term will be end up to this sequence. To hold is the best to keep on your favorite coins and try to be back when the market is all green.

There's really no other reason for doing this than panic selling to avoid losses. It all starts long before people even buy their first cryptocurrency. Most of those who buy high and sell low (panic sellers) adopted a herd mentality, they followed the majority and eventually they gave in to Social Proof: "if everyone else is buying cryptos, so should I". Since they didn't do a proper research about cryptos to understand how volatility, fluctuation, and the cryptocurrency market works, as soon as they see a dip or red numbers they'll give in to emotions and they enter panic mode as they'd rather sell their cryptos asap than losing all their money. It's all common human behaviour.

Actually this type of people is lack of strategies. They have fear or doubtful about losing their money. Without even think that they buy their coins in a very high price. Investment in cryptocurrencies is just like a games if you want to win you should do a research about the real situations of cryptocurrencies, Because the price of crypto is volatile, so if this people know it. Then there's nothing to worry if the price of crypto going down. They already know that this is a normal situations, they have their patience at all.

I think your strategy of investment and trading of bitcoin is not good. It is a panic strategy. Why you will buy at a high price which you can't get enough profit for that, while selling it in a low price. It should be buy low, sell high strategy. It is a famous investing adage about taking advantage of the market's propensity to overshoot on the downside and upside. Although it is very simple, it is difficult to execute. It is easy to say whether a certain price is low or high in retrospect, but in the moment, it is monumentally difficult. Prices affect the psychology and emotions of market participants.

For this reason, "buy low, sell high" can be challenging to implement consistently. Traders can use tools, such as moving averages and the business cycle.
