there is no altcoins that can beat bitcoin because bitcoin is the number 1 cryptocurrency, they just saying that because they want to advertise their coin in that way or they are FUDers.
So far, the entire cryptocurrency universe is being led by Bitcoin. Of course there are a few alternate cryptocurrencies that are also at the forefront in the worldwide crypto promotion. However, the general impression is that if you are a crypto supporter, you are naturally supporting Bitcoin as well. But it might not be the other way. It does not necessarily follow that if you support Bitcoin you are also supporting the altcoins. In other words, Bitcoin is the common denominator of everything. No doubt why when it comes to bull and bear seasons, Bitcoin is also the first. The first to rise and the first to suffer as well. Crypto is almost equal to Bitcoin at the moment.
of course bitcoin will continue to be number 1 because crypto has been there for at least 10 years, but bitcoin has never been ranked second and continues to be on top, even though so many altcoins have come but will never be able to defeat bitcoin.
For the record, there have been several attempts by ETH and XRP, (Flippening/Rippening remember?). But it didn't happened because there's not enough support really push and overtake bitcoin. Why? Because investors will go to a coin where the chance to get big profits and at least sustainable.
There might be a time that a new coin will emerge and try to challenge bitcoin again. But it will be very difficult because bitcoin has gain world wide attention already and investors will not likely move away from buying it for the next 10 years or so. We might see mass adoption for bitcoin in the future.

Bitcoin is already beaten by Paypal and Visa and Mastercards. If you believe centralized databases are cryptocurencies, then you have to count them in also.

I don't think there are such coins that would take the throne of Bitcoin, some have tried that already but they were all failed to do so. And some are trying to make a close name for Bitcoin but they were all called altcoins in the end. Bitcoin is the greatest invention of Satoshi Nakamoto that we are using until today despite being used it on different kind of transactions. This is still the best of all coins.

everyone here believes in btc potential and want btc to always stay at the head of alt coin, but science is moving forward and end up finding something interesting that would make you change your mind otherwise; why do museums exist?
Many people in my country considering when they were involved in crypto because they are very curious about the develop of bitcoin and i think their reasons also same such as other people and that's why bitcoin will always be number 1 because most people including me consider if they or me want to invest in crypto then obviously bitcoin will always be the main option
Almost all the cryptoinvestors believe on this one since when the price of bitcoin down, the whole market is down also. Let’s give that position to bitcoin, we should be thankful because its created, and Satoshi is able to bring good technologies to help people solve their problem through this system and to be able to earn profit as the market investors continues to grow. 
Once more i will explain why no ones can replace bitcoin in their position as king of cryptocurrency, in term of popularization bitcoin is very popular than to any came from the project development. and bitcoin is easy to use and to convert into fiat money uses worldwide.

O mean centralized cryptocurrencies like RIPPLE for example, that are controlled by governments which try to beat Bitcoin and control the market of cryptocurrencies. I think we can find the answer in Mr ROBOT Tv show.

You're definitely right OP because I could remember when I wanted to start crypto currency trading and investment. Bitcoin was the reason why I entered into the crypto sphere in the first place and on getting to this forum I started to learn more about other coins. However, I believe that said one altcoin will take over the #1 spot from bitcoin were those that rely or still believe in the prediction made by a quantum physics astrologer about an altcoin to take over the number 1 spot from bitcoin.If another Bull run happens, Media will only talk and focus on Bitcoin, new comers in crypto will learn about Bitcoin first and foremost.

If people will still buy bitcoin, then this will last forever but nothing will last forever in this world rather change. If those whales will control the price then in the future this will lose many investors to patronize bitcoin due to manipulation.
