Bitcoin is the most valuable cryptocurrency.Moreover it's price is increasing rapidly day by day and I think this is the main reason why bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin is most popular cryptocurrency because it was mother of cryptocurrency or the first cryptocurrency ever made, Thanks to Satoshi Nakamoto. Also some coin just copying the algorithm, etc or just develop what's already in the bitcoin and make his own coin. But some cryptocurrency actually have really good features which is bitcoin don't have.
Bitcoin was the first one created and used in the blackmarket (if you know the history of bitcoin). It is most popular now because of its current price. Bitcoin is the way to buy other coins too that's why bitcoin is the most popular among the others.
Why is bitcoin the most popular crypto? You are right. One of the reasons why the most popular is Bitcoin because I think because Bitcoin is created first in the history of cryptocurency so it is not wrong if Bitcoin is made the first and foremost cryptocurency currency.and most importantly because many major countries around the world are adopting Bitcoin and because this is also Bitcoin being the most popular than any other coin.

I think the first one is not the most important condition. I think it's the most different thing from other real currency make Bitcoin become the most popular digital currency. 
Bitcoin is one of the most popular cryptocurrency as it is one of the first crypto currency which was being created as a digital currency and it became popular due to its rapid growth in the market value as you can see how the market value of btc grew and its market value even touched upto 20K USD even though at the present the market had a dip to 12K USD the market value will continue to grow as per the growing demand and it even became a sensational talk of the media due to the unexpected growth of the market.

Well if you'll think of it that ay, bitcoin is popular because it's been the oldest of all crypto coin so it is only normal that most community have already known it which makes it that popular which unlike other coin that has only been released like a year or two. There is ETH which is showing potential to be popular yet it is not a coin.Bitcoin provides a lot of opportunity to both young and adults in the community so it is only normal for people to spread word about something where they can all benefit.
