Because there are situations were life gives you a hunch that you must and has to do things that was against to your will to avoid conflicts. There are people that were not honest because they don't want to cause trouble or make trouble even if they know it is not right.
Well it depends if the motive of a person is good or bad. Some people don't tell the truth because it will create more problems or it will hurt a person which is called white lies while some lie because they want to happen what they want even if it will cause harm to other people.
Some people are not honest because they are Greed, boastful and ambisious that's why they don't keep they words and often break their promises.

If they become totally honest it may end up hurting you and he/she will become bad in your point of view. There are white lies but still a lie. People change as fast as lightning depending on the situation. Trust yourself more and think of this, whenever people lie to you it's not your fault so don't feel guilty or whatsoever pray for them to do at least what is right. So by now we often used papers, contracts and so much more for an extra assurance and for us to feel more safe and secure yet even this can get tampered and crumpled.

People are not honest because of their personal interest. Life now is not easy. Earning money is hard, you need to work for it. So people will try to earn money in the easiest way.

No, you cant do that, there are a lot of bad people in this world, most of the people like to take advantage from other people and like to make other people suffering, only small percentage of people are honest, the world are harsh now, a lot of people looking for easy way to get money
Because they will benefit from doing so thats why. So long as people can gain advantage on something, they will do almost everything to get ahead and lying is always part of that.

Not all of them. Someone keep their word and do not even think of another way of life. They will do something to their detriment than deceive there friends or relatives. Often people lie in their own favor, and promise for their own benefit.
The reason is people deceived by satan and satan wants to control our life, he want us to be liar and he wants people to make a sin.

it was because they are full of greed and self entitlement , they just think about themselves and not about the others 
Come on, guys. Stop saying it's the human nature or whatever. They really say it that honesty is the best policy. When you can see whatever the dudes do wrong. Who can make you work with them again?
I mean if someone lies to you and tries to cheat you up - just leave the bastard alone, and who ever you know - they will finally do the same.

At the end, everything boils down to money. Greed is what makes us dishonest and disloyal 
because some people even though they are honest, but even more people will not say honesty

Because money is involved and people will do anything to survive. It's unfortunate but the truth. I have been scammed a few times by trusting other people. After that, you learn to be more skeptical about everything.
