Yes, maybe they want to earn money without having to work hard. This is causing a lot of people who get caught up in the scam. They just do not copy their works to attract people to invest. When they are already getting what they want, they will go and take investors money.

It's not for nothing, they are trying to make money or scam people out of their money. It’s a noble cause, some coins are moving technology forward, not all of them are copycats.
I think it is because they see the potential of realising a lot as soon as they create and release their own coins. If a project is legit or valid and has a chance of gaining success, people will certainly invest in that project. It might my tedious to achieve a successful ICO project but most of them put their all into it because they know it will yield a lot for them at the end of the day.
