You would only care if you had a bunch of Etherium that you wanted to make money on. There is no other reason to be in favor of one coin’s success over another coin’s.

However, I do think that it will be good for the cryptocurrency markets as a whole if Bitcoin is successful and the same probably could be said for Etherium as well since these are the top 2 cryptocurrencies.

I think that's what those who do not have bitcoin want and want ETH. Everyone wants to make money in this there is nothing wrong, but bitcoin will not go anywhere, he will not be allowed to go down to 0!

Most people want that because they are mining it with graphics cards which couldn't mine Bitcoin or are making money on it. A majority of them also wants that because it has smaller fees and confirmation times, but the reality is, Ethereum would crack at the price Bitcoin has right now. Bitcoin was struggling when the price pumped up but it survived, Ethereum would die there.

I don't know the logic of how they are. I analyzed that they should be a group of Ethereum proponents, or they have a lot. But I think this is an illusion. Ethereum can never be done.

I believe that this can have multiple reasons and one of them can be that some people cannot afford bitcoin but own som ether on their accounts

probably because the growth of ETH is better than BTC because now that I know BTC has not gone up so from that many people who want ETH to exceed BTC but on the other hand Ethereum can already exceed bitcoin because yesterday before price of Ethereum decreased has reached high price than at BItcoin

In my opinion the main reason that is coming in my mind is that , people are getting save of his money from the transaction fee .
As we seen that about 3 months ago fees of the bitcoin transaction was very high , so people moves toward etherium but in actual here they are not understanding that how much the bitcoin have strength to handle such a bulk amount of transaction at the same time .
If we will put etherium at place of the bitcoin then in that case I don't think that such bulk amount of transaction no. Can be handle by the etherium network can be handle .

May be the merits of Ethereum fascinates the investors towards it, as it's transaction cost is quiet lowers than BTC, or some other qualities of ETH fascinates the investors.

It is not about wanting Ethereum to overtake or overcome Bitcoin. Both are in the crypto space where there are lots of competition, but i do not see this happening except we want to deceive ourselves. Bitcoin is already being accepted in places where Ethereum is not yet accepted.

In my opinion i think people want ethereum to overcome bitcoin because there are lot of people that hold ethereum and lot of other coin That base on it, they think if ethereum pass bitcoin by price it will also make other coin base on ethereum platform rise.

I would image those who want ETH to over come BTC are those who are heavily invested in it. I look at ETH as silver, and Bitcoin is Gold. I don't think ETH will ever be worth more than BTC - simply because bitcoin is the daddy of coins.

because they see ethereum as having that potential, ethereum can work together and can produce smart contracts that can create some new tokens that are similar to bitcoins that can create new altcoins, but the difference is only from the total supply available.

not that they want eth to surpass what btc had acheived, its just that its possible to happen since eth can created more demand in the future due to the alts created thru eth's network. its a competition of these crypto, there were some that would alsk compete eth like neo and eos.

There isn't just one reason, there are many factors leading to it.

1. bitcoin pulled the biggest bull run ever seen and most people think they missed the train to BTC, so... ETH is their new target.
2. Ethereum blockchain is much better than bitcoin blockchain in technology so, many people belive that it should be the main runner.
3. The price difference is also an important aspect, Ethereum being the underdog, is the easier option to invest.
