Ethereum has been use widely for ICO purchase which have given this coin a high recognition. And also ripple has been on test for her technology in financial institutions to use since it can process trasactions than bitcoin. Will these two coins replace bitcoin and become number 1 on the coinmarketcap
In my opinion, Bitcoin is the number in the crypto market. Although ETH and Ripple are good and potential Altcoins, they cannot replace Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is the price regulator currency for the entire crypto market.

Bitcoin will not be replaced by anything for now we can see that bitcoin itself still has the potential to be able to rise later but indeed we must be patient to wait for it. there is nothing to replace bitcoin in the main cryptocurrency position

Yes because market cap or demand says it all . the coin cant be on top if its value is only small but it isnt only the price that matter the most . coin usage is also important .

oh really ? i didnt know that before . all of the time i thought that eth's supply do have a limit and dogecoin is the one and only crypto that has unlimited supply but thanks for the info by the way . anyway , they say that the higher the supply means the higher the chance that a coin can rise , one example for that is doge coin .

Banks have alot of money and they can easily manipulate the price of ripple if they want to pumped it up . id say that its possible for ripple to de throne btc

well, we know that bitcoin is now far above ETH or XRP, I don't feel the slightest bitcoin will be replaced by both of these coins for now, or even later. it can be said that bitcoin is the heart of crypto. No, because they serve different purposes. If a coin reaches number one in cap, it doesn't mean that it becomes the best coin for all purposes. If XRP becomes number one, it won't suddenly be a better choice than ETH for smart contracts.

That's much better let the rivalry continue in order to take place behind bitcoin, there's no significance that bitcoin can be replaced by this two projects, as bitcoin still strong from the competitions being adopted and acknowledge by more investors and traders, maybe there's instances that this two coins will exceed each other but not bitcoin in terms of value, bitcoin being the first will continue holding its position.

The popularity of bitcoin is based primarily on its complete decentralization, which is not present in Ethereum, much less Ripple, which can be called cryptocurrency with great stretch. In Bitcoin, it is impossible to cancel transactions or whole blocks, as it was done in Ethereum. This is its main advantage, which is so appreciated by large investors.
i still think it is hard for altcoins to compete with BTC at this moment when BTC is still very powerful and market cap is too much dominating other altcoins, i know ETH has so much potential to become much greater but its platform is too much and there is not much reason for us to keep an altcoin with unlimited supply, but Ripple is a good competitor to replace BTC when its platform is much more useful in real life and transactions is faster and cheap than BTC.

The 2 coins have the opportunity to replace bitcoin, this is because many say that getting bored with bitcoin and crypto needs new things to get better, ethereum have more chance than Ripple because of the support of hundreds of ERC-20 based projects.
Neither Ethereum nor Ripple are anywhere near of bitcoin, so at present, i don't see any of them would replace bitcoin in near future. However, Ethereum is a very good project, i believe it has a high potential in future.
I really can't imagine too it's ever gonna happen. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are very different and hard to compare. Nevertheless I assume that Bitcoin will remain the lead currency in the crypto currency market and will never be replaced by Ethereum or Ripple. Should it happen, I hope it won't be Ripple, because it's a centralized currency.

Of course, it will never happen or if it happens, it will only happen for a moment and everything will soon return to its original position because bitcoin is always a symbol and a bridge to connect people with altcoin, so although ethereum and ripple are very good but it still can not do the same thing as bitcoin, that makes the competition of eth and ripple with bitcoin's position nearly meaningless. I guarantee that it will never be possible because bitcoin is the coin that is the main part of all cryptocurrency, the price of ethereum and ripple also has price movements depending on the movement of bitcoin.
And in fact until now when the price of bitcoin is down, there is no altkoin that persists and can outperform the bitcoin which altkoin follows the movement of the price of bitcoin and now the eth position has been shifted by xrp which is previously second to now eth is in the order three.not ethereum or ripple, or no other coin.

The thing is bitcoin will not dead very soon, i think if bitcoin dead then it means cryptocurrency will be in danger too, because bitcoin is like the father of cryptocurrency and if something bad happen to bitcoin, it always affect other cryptos.In my opinion, no altcoins can replace bitcoin even ethereum and ripple too.
I don't think bitcoin is really in competition with ripple or ethereum because it has been proven in the past that those coins cannot really create the market of there own and there depends on what happened to bitcoin for both grow and fall. I think bitcoin is leading and this leadership is going to remain with us for long.

yes . many are saying that xrp is too different from other cryptos and some even says that this coin is centralized since it was backed by banks ? etherium on the other hand is a full crypto . eth is i think have more potential to de throne bitcoin than ripple . not just on the price comparison between xrp and eth but also because of the purposes as well . eth has a lot of uses , aside from a currency and an investment asset .
