ethereum and ripple will not be able to replace bitcoin because maybe too much influence from the amount of supply from ethereum and ripple will make prices not as expensive as bitcoin.
Maybe that won't happen, the market capitulation of bitcoins with all altcoins is very different. I don't think about how many years it must pass and with a significant increase for one of the altcoins who want to replace bitcoin in the first position. In addition to the price movements that always occur, bitcoin is always the beginning of an increase or decrease for altcoins, if bitcoin goes down then the altcoin will also decline.
Neither Ethereum nor Ripple are anywhere near of bitcoin, so at present, i don't see any of them would replace bitcoin in near future. However, Ethereum is a very good project, i believe it has a high potential in future.

And in fact until now when the price of bitcoin is down, there is no altkoin that persists and can outperform the bitcoin which altkoin follows the movement of the price of bitcoin and now the eth position has been shifted by xrp which is previously second to now eth is in the order three.
It'd be possible if ETH price high as last year and it would still be the best altcoin but at the moment, ETH is not the best altcoin anymore, it lost its 2nd place on CMC to XRP while XRP price is too low and both BTC price and marketcap also much higher than XRP so I don't think there is any chance for ETH and XRP to replace BTC in the future.

I think ETH position will be in near future the 2nd place... I think ETH will resume its position but it is far from replace BTC, I think BTC is the king and it is a very strong king.
I think that bitcoin is unlikely anyone will compete in the near future. all the more altcoins depend on the price of bitcoin
If one of these two cryptocurrencies ever succeeds in catching Bitcoin, it's possible that Ethereum will succeed. I hope that no one will ever trust so much in Ripple and will soon collapse.

They'll never understand this. Every time there are new crypto's that are pumping out, they can imagine quickly that it can be replaced by that emerging coin. They are forgetting what's the position of bitcoin to the market and on how many times it was planned to be pushed away from its post.

and perhaps without bitcoin, altcoins will not exist wich mean ethereum and ripple will not born my friend

Bch was the biggest coin which can be first with big manipulations but after fork I don't think it can be anymore, I don't think eth or ripple can be first, btc is like a king for market.
I don't know why OP wants to replace the Bitcoin with the other coins like Ripple/ Ethereum, We already know how potential the Bitcoin is going and there are many major companies wants Bitcoin as ETF to sec. I hope very soon SEC will accept Bitcoin ETF and once it is accepted no one will defeat the Bitcoin. Bitcoin will stay always a dominant currency in the market.

I hope that ripple will never be the leader of cryptocurrency. We don’t need a centralized cryptocurrency at the head of decentralized cryptocurrency. But whether ethereum will become the leader of cryptocurrency depends on bitcoin itself. He urgently needs improvements, including, finally, he needs to solve the long-standing problem of its scalability. Nowadays, a throughput of seven transactions per second is just ridiculous when some coins already have a million transactions per second. 
I doubt it. Bitcoin will keep its dominance from other coins, bitcoin will remain on top. As you can see, bitcoin and the other coins still have a large gap and I don’t think altcoins can easily shorten the gap. I also am glad because ethereum and ripple are one of the top coins now.
Not in a million year! If ripple and ethereum will go to a x1000 bull run and so do bitcoin and maybe it will run twice as much as eth and ripple do.

All of those thinking any of those coins has any chance to replace bitcoin are simply obsessed about those coins and are not seeing the reality right in front of them, bitcoin will never be surpassed by another coin that uses the blockchain and that is a cheap copy of the original.
impossible. This is impossible. the leader and the king of this market is the bitcoin. no one can pass. If one day is replaced by another, that day will be very bad. bitcoin should always be in first place.
yup, I agree with you because until whenever bitcoin will not be replaced by any coin and still be the parent of all coins in cryptocurrency, this topic should be replaced with ethereum competition with ripple which has a difference in marketcap which only becomes very exciting for the second position.It's not impossible since there's plenty of room for evolution in this market. It may not seem likely for now but any of those two may evolve and btc may stay stagnant at it's current state. If there's one thing you can be sure about crypto, it's the fact that anything can happen.
