as far as i concern there are more cryptocurrency exist right now about a hundreds of them... but right now talking about replacing bitcoin by other crypto is not sure... other people trying to overtake bitcoin and taking it down but that will not happen as the there are many users and miners of bitcoin all around the world. In other words no one can replace bitcoin as of this day...

There is no way to know about it, currently we do see bch being pumped, and market is a bit scared to see such coin being more traded then bitcoin as well eth, that lost top trade volume on the last days, the future can bring better coin but for now there is no coin to compete with it.

Replace the bitcoin is not so easy  work. bitcoin is leader in the all crypto currency. so i think, it will be a hard work  to replace the leader.

No, that will never happen. The sole reason why Bitcoin is so popular is because it was the first and is what people know. Many altcoins are technologically years ahead, but they are worth a lot less than Bitcoin for the simple reason that a payment system do not need a card game included in the wallet.

I think this is not easy. At least in the near future. The most important competitor of bitcoin is of course Ethereum. But Ethereum and other altcoins are not popular for the ordinary people. On the other hand, relatively more people are aware of bitcoin, follow it and even invest some money in it. One day I am sure one coin will replace bitcoin but the real question is when?

Agree. The altcoin which rivals Bitcoin itself is Ethereum as it is the second most largest cryptocurrency by market cap. While we cannot predict what will happen in the future with it, all the latest development and business interest into Ethereum, will definitely make it a strong competitor against the pioneer cryptocurrency.

However, all of this is up to debate, since there could exist a possibility of another coin taking over Bitcoin's place as top cryptocurrency by market cap. Bitcoin Cash had a nice uptrend in price lately, and it is currently more profitable to mine than Bitcoin itself. If it manages to gain traction from businesses and individuals alike, then it may overcome the pioneer cryptocurrency as the top coin in market cap.

Bigger blocks means more transaction throughput, and if Bitcoin Cash can deliver this, plus other advantages such as lower fees, then it may become the top cryptocurrency of choice between many crypto enthusiasts and ordinary people alike. The only downside is that bigger blocks may further decrease decentralization as the blockchain size grows at a faster rate than the original Bitcoin. But other than that, if BCH becomes successful, then it will be a major headache for Bitcoin Core.

Nevertheless, the possibilities here in crypto land are endless, and some coins can experience massive increases in price and market cap, while others get left behind. It is up to you, to make the right decision by choosing a cryptocurrency which will remain in the scene for many years to come with its active development, and popularity. Just my opinion Smiley

Yes it is possible for bitcoin to become obsolete and be replace by another cryptocurrencey, it can happen if the demand in bitcoin will suddenly crash and people will tend to look for other currency. But looking at todays status of bitcoin it's really obvious that it is in a good standing in the market and we hope it will just continue in the future

Another coin will probably replace it because nothing stays forever especially now that its not generally accepted all over the world

Well, I guess it depends on the timeframe you consider.

Who in 2000's would think that a coin would have a market capital almost as big as PayPal currently do?

I guess it is a matter of time. In the next 5/10 years another coin will arise. Bitcoin will still have its value of course, but new options will emerge.
New coins are always going to to be created the issue is if they have anything new to offer, when bitcoin came out it was revolutionary, now while some coins have some good ideas the truth is that most of the projects do not offer anything new, at best a new coin is created for a very specific need  but at the moment there is not a coin being developed that surprises me.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

Not so I think. Bitcoin is the backbone and the mother of all cryptocurrency available today. Should it be replaced by another currency, I think it would be very hard to tell knowing that a lot of cryptocurrencies are now circulating the market making it very hard to attract users.

It impossible if bitcoin will be replaced by altcoin, bitcoin is pioneer and most successful. Altcoin has many constraints to beat bitcoin, for example many merchants are more receptive to bitcoin. But, maybe it could happen if bitcoin investors switch everything to altcoin.
Nobody can replace it. Bitcoin  has the most number of user and number of investors needed. Bitcoin cannnot be replaced nor not be gone because of the other alt coins. It will never be.

Yes, this makes sense. Bitcoin is probably not suitable for replacing every and each fiat coin in the world right now as it is and make an unique, universal coin... So another coin will probably replace it, or Bitcoin will evolve so much that it will make no more sense to call it Bitcoin. Only future will tell.
We could not tell what would happen unless it happened in reality. Meaning that the future of Bitcoin is actually broad and not specificm it could make a huge development, progress and growth by simply increasing its people support or by developing through the age of time and technology. So if this happens we do not know what is the next thing to do. So for me the best thing to do is to trust and believe on Bitcoin fortune by simply having investment and trading so that you vod have a chance to have profit and earn out of Bitcoin development.

There is no altcoin that will surpass and obsulute the bitcoin. It is very impossible.

In terms of price and value, yes, but in terms of features and development, there are a lot of digital currencies far more better than bitcoin does. For example litecoin which has a good transaction times. Bitcoin is the digital currency so I don't think I will be seeing another altcoin that will be making a good competence with bitcoin.

We cannot say whats going to happen on tge future, maybe yes maybe not, we cannot say whats going to be true. We can just only assumed that it will never be replaced by anything or any coins. Bitcoins are the pioneer and the most used and most successful cryptocurrencies among all. And with that fact people will never want to replace what they considered the usual. They do not want to start again and have a new coin back to level one. But we cannot say maybe in the future much successful coins will appear.

I think the Bitcoin is the foundation of all cryptocurrency that exist currently. Developers can make potential virtual currencies but  I think it is impossible to replace the First and the widely used and supported Bitcoin.
The time will come that bitcoin will get a lot of issues and the foundation of bitcoin will get weaker and that is the perfect time for another cryptocurrency to shine and replace bitcoin, there is no consistent thing in the world but change, so things will change as well as bitcoin that will be replaced by another cryptocurrency.
It is not as easy as that, you cannot replace a currency the same way you replace an old phone even technology that you may think was replaced long time ago was not, a few years ago the most popular operative system for PC was Windows XP, microsoft does not even support it anymore and something similar is going to happen with bitcoin, bitcoin is not going to be replaced just because a new coin appeared.

I still think yes, it cost to much to produce a bit coin and as difficulty goes up and more mining power is required it will work out that it costs more to mine than its worth. It has shitty transaction times and now cost more than any other fiat payment to process. This is still in the infant years, another Crypto will become main stream as a payment process. BTC is out of date and out of touch as what it was meant to be.
Oh man oh man..! Have you gone crazy? Or are you drunk? Because a stable minded person never say such shit opinion. Bro it cannot even be done in imagination or dreams. There is no crypto that can compete bitcoin. It was, it is and It will always be the best crypto. It will always be ruling the world. And no matter how costly it is, people will still invest in btc.
He is entitled for his own prediction but looking at the recent success of bitcoin we can easily say that it will not be replace soon.
When bitcoins are on the move to and uptrend, we see the opposite to most of the altcoins, that clearly shows how dominant bitcoin is and as its power is increasing due to increase of adoption, we should trust it will be worth for our money to invest in bitcoin.
