Gold has never been replaced as a store of value and probably never will be by another look alike product. So i dont think BTC will ever be second, but other Altcoins will be used for everyday shopping or to use Ethereum platform or Lisk platform etc. World needs more than one digital coin.
Yeah, this is how things work, bitcoin won't be replaced and if it does, the possibility is very low. Bitcoin is just gonna hanging round among other cryptocurrencies and it may not be used as much as now in the future but one thing for sure is that it won't die out, at least for a long time.

I agree with you on the latter, but i see it is a bit of an unfair to compare gold and Bitcoin in this instance. Since Bitcoin could have an technical issue one day and lose a lot of its value, while another crypto might be just fine and surpass Bitcoin. This can not happen with gold. Gold could only crash if we found new cheap ways to create it or find a big and unexpected amount. So i see Bitcoin failing as the more likely scenario of those two.

Eventually in the future, bitcoin will be replaced by another crypto currency but not soon. Bitcoin will be available till 2023 for mining. After that bitcoin will remain the costliest crypto currency. However, those who have already set up their expensive mining system, what will they do?

They will obviously find another crypto currency to mine and that crypto currency will become the next big thing after bitcoin. Everything in life, has a expiry date and bitcoin is no exception. But that is not going to happen anytime soon.
You will have to explain some details. Why mining will only be available until 2023? Because we should still have a good 100 years until no new blocks are mined. Also the fees will take over as the reward. Altcoins use different algorithms, with ASCIs it is not possible to switch to the next best coin.
Probably people will not look for another system anymore, they trust bitcoin so much that is why the price that we see now is rising. That is the statement of the majority and create some good demand to make it happen. If there is a specific altcoin that will replace bitcoin, we cannot ascertain what it is due to their huge number.
it is obvious that there are thousands potential coins out there and I do not know why you can see which one can replace Bitcoin. According to my experience and my knowledge, ethereum is the most suitable for this place. Ethereum has provided a lot of benefits and advance technology to us and if we know how to use it appropriately, it can help us in many ways
I think many people make the same mistake as you. ETH is the second biggest in market cap and known, so people see it as first alternative. But ETH is not and does not want to be an alternative. Just like you would not call a car an alternative to a 18 wheeler. They are both cars/crypto currencies, but serve a different purpose. And you and many other probably do not know which one could replace Bitcoin, because you have no insight into the technical aspect of every coin.

Bitcoin is getting a lot issues recently around the confirmations i wouldnt be surprised if some investors switch to other altcoin that hasnt such delay to confirm the transactions as bitcoin is having. Without any upgrade this will keep happening, and looks like miner farms doesnt agree at all wich is the best thing to follow. Its getting boring already make and be at bitcoin with those issue not handle yet, how long can bitcoin survive if bitcoin dont upgrade into better system?
I do not think so.  I am sure that bitcoin will never replaced by another crypto-currency, even etherium could not replace bitcoin.  Because most of people are thrust to bitcoin. Altcoin could be dead anytime.
As mentioned bitcoin will never be replaced by bitcoin. Few coins similar to eth, monero was found with high growth in user as well technology. But it has not come close in terms of usage, acceptance and price volatility. So bitcoin never bows down to other Altcoins.

Yeah, In real life everything has an expiry date and bitcoin does not have exception on that. Bitcoin supply is very limited and year after years the supply are being lessen by the investors and the miners, so after at least 4-5 years we will experience some changes on bitcoin because those who will get benefits in bitcoin for long term are those investors and miners who invested a lot of money. After 10 years bitcoin will face its best enemy and the miners might transfer to another cryptocurrency because of the volume of users, money and other kind of small issues that can cause for them to not earn a decent amount.

until now have not thought about it because it is very difficult for others to cryptocurency could replace cryptocurency bitcoin my knowledge there because bitcoin created as a benchmark to price cryptocurrency.
I don’t think that any other cryptocurrency can compete with bitcoin currency do to their so much achievement and success. It seems to be impossible according to the present situation.

If any currency try to do so they required so much time to come on to the level of bitcoin because is not organization which is new made it is established since many year so conclusion of all discussion is that not possible to compete with bitcoin currency rate and come on to the level of bitcoin.

The bitcoin has the largest user community. No other altcoin can match that.

SegWit may be the only way for us to solve this problem. Sadly, most of the miners reject it because they believe that SegWit will lower the fee and they will not have the same profit as they do at the moment. well, we have to do something to encourage them to use this feature or Bitcoin will be self-destroyed

It seems that most of them are rather short-sighted

Though this had to be expected in a market which has a cut-throat competition taken over. Any update which would somehow affect the transaction fees (e.g. SegWit) would likely change the status quo and shake the mining industry. While it is certainly rational short-term, in the long haul the present state of affairs is inevitably set to change in the nearest future and then it could potentially render more damage to miners than the proposed changes. for example, Bitcoin may start being abandoned on reaching a certain point, after that the fees will still decline massively

I don't agree, bitcoin is not abandoned at certain point and as we can see these several days this month it shows good performance and it continued to flow smoothly. I don't see good benefit to those miners around but what I am focusing is the strong foundation of btc as of this year. Because of that good standing I must stick to my principle that bitcoin will still be bitcoin, and cannot be replaced other cryptocurrency.

Do you have a time machine?

I'm talking about future, namely, what could happen if Bitcoin doesn't get updated and starts seriously lagging behind. More specifically, I say what is likely to come about if Bitcoin user base expands but Bitcoin itself is not able to cope with this growth due to rogue miners not willing to accept required changes to keep the system up to date. We have already seen multiple transaction jams in the past, but these are said to arise because of spammy transactions overflooding the network

We discussed about possibility of potential miners focus moved to altcoin because of cost and others. Especially when bitcoin has been exhausted to be mined. No matter how good bitcoin to maintain a solid structure, they will be eroded gradually by market. A strong foundation depending on market demand. All potential competition wide open every day and in future. We just need an optimistic attitude towards bitcoin.

The mining era of bitcoin - which will last beyond our life times - wasn't meant to be the end of bitcoin, but just the beginning.

probably not possible because bitcoin is the father of all alt coin and without bitcoin no other alt coin have value because sites and store don't accept alt coins they accept only bitcoin and this is possible only when we have bitcoin so bitcoin will always rule the world of cryptocurrency.
I agree with you completely. If bitcoin will disappear he will disappear and other cryptocurrencies. Though of course this place for a long time will not be empty. I think that even if bitcoin will disappear in the time it will be another cryptocurrency. It is possible that the Federal reserve will try to run in a turn, something like that.
There is no other scenario about that, Bitcoin is the most successful cryptocurrency and I don't think someone will replace it because until now it is still developing, I can't think of any scenario that Bitcoin can be replace or even grow together with another Altcoin. Because Bitcoin is still on its growth stage in that stage people are still grasping or still learning Bitcoin and I don't think people need another Altcoin for Bitcoin to function as a currency.
