By the days when price continued to fall, ethereum and bitcoin were showing similar growth percentage. Now things has changed with bitcoin leading the track. This trend will continue with more growth on bitcoin and ethereum possibly show gradual growth and the same won't cause Eth beat bitcoin.
It is really possible, ethereum has a lot of positive aspects to achieve bitcoin price but in this year it can be hard. I think maybe in next year

Someone is speculating on a potential "flippening" where ETH could take over Bitcoin's marketcap, ETH has more token supply than BTC so if it reaches a certain value it may happen. But it all depends on how much BTC is worth, if it goes back to ~20K each it will be really hard for ETH to do that.
So much happening this year for both BTC and ETH I don't mind either, so long as they both improve and help promote crypto and blockchain use to the masses I am happy with it. Price is relative, it's the tech that counts.
It is inevitable that it'll. Only a matter of time. Probably the most rational reply is that all people here hopes, but of course nobody knows for certain.
Ethereum is still lagging behind bull market for bitcoin. I think ethereum has its own type of investors. Bitcoin investors generally love to hold longer but ether investors aren't that patient so NO.

I think bitcoin and ethereum are the best coins of the cryptocurrency world. Of course, the bitcoin is the pioneer and has a great volume, but I don't think that no coin can reach its popularity and price in the future. I think ethereum is the most powerful altcoin and has a really good potential for the future.

I think the eth will grow well in the coming years and after some time become more expensive than bitcoin. I can not say that it will happen in 2018, but in the coming years it will happen

From my personal point of view it's hard to get rid of it
I will put this simply. The reason etherum has a huge marketcap is because it is used for speculative icos inn witch a only a handful are legit and yeah for transferring money between exchanges. However etherum isn`t nearly as reliable as bitcoin is and before that happens they will co-exist with bitcoin probably on top. Ether um might throne over bitcoin if it seed substantial media coverage

What about capitalization, i thin ether beat bitcoin. if not in 2018 so in 2019. the technology is very unique and versatile in use. And bitcoin has essentially only one purpose, payments and then with this he had problems because of the high commissions for the transaction

You were right there, ethereum cannot beat bitcoin. Actually this has been asked many times but my answer would still btc is the best and top in this market. But, both bitcoin and ethereum are really the best supporting in crypto market.

Eth is a very good alternative to btc but i don't think it will surpass btc now or in the near future. It may be next to btc in terms of value. Market cap will always be btc.

There could be a chance but I really don't think that ethereum will be having an easy way for it to beat btc at its position. Bitcoin is the coin any alternatives might find hard in beating. Also ethereum, but in a way just like ethereum trying to beat bitcoin. I believe that this two coins might be hard to take out of place.

Ethereum is at time the most valueable currency to hold and have great potential to reach new heights in coming time but i doubt whether it will be able to beat btc in future or not but one thing is for sure that it is going to most profitable altcoin to have so make sure you must have it. Although Ethereum is very useful crypto-currency for ICOs and, as a result, for the bounty campaigns, I think that Bitcoin will stay at the first place on capitalization yet. In addition, for example, NEO and Cardano, which support smart-contracts too, are competing against Ethereum and are taking some part of potential ETH capitalization. 
Bitcoin was released in 2009, and Ethereum was released in 2015. In that short space of time Ethereum has managed to achieve 50% of Bitcoin's market cap. I would say there is a reasonable chance that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin by 2020. There is space for both of these coins, and I don't see any real competitors for the crown of king of crypto.
Not now I think. There's a chance for ethereum to take over bitcoin someday, but not in 2018. It's still a long way to go as high as bitcoin in this year. Maybe it's next five years that ethereum will reach today's price of bitcoin.
