I don't think ethereum coin will beat or surpass the currenct standard of bitcoin because it's far from behind if the basis of value is differ to current ethereum price now. Alternate coin depends only to bitcoin that is my perception because like what the correction is still going on you can notice the price also affect to the whole crypto currency once the bitcoin is going down. With this situation it only the demand and supply of bitcoin is concern.

I don't think so. I don't think the bitcoin will be surpassed by ETH, and the development trend of bitcoin is very good. Bitcoin is still the king of all altcoins, and it is the basis of all altcoins.

I think it is not about the price it is about the market capacity on capitalization. We all know that in this digital currency world anything can happen and the impossible might be possible sooner or later on, Ethereum might surpass bitcoin on capitalization or Bitcoin might remain the top crypto currency in terms of capitalization. But if you guys mean that Ethereum will reach the price of Bitcoin like one bitcoin is to one ethereum it seems impossible in my opinion even if I have said that the impossible might be possible, just do the math on it and you'll know why. Grin

In a point of market capitalisation? Well maybe.
ETH blocks are mined in average every 15 seconds. And the supply of ETH is not limited as far as I know.
So I can imagine that ETH will become something like the future form of crypto payment, while bitcoin is a crypto investment.

With enough people are willing to pay with crypto currencies, the combined value of all ETH can be higher than combined value of all bitcoin.
But that will take a very long time. If the current prices would stay stable, and number of newly mined blocks as well, lets say about 15 to 20 years.

Why do you think that Ethererum is trying to beat bitcoin? And even if it was, why would it have to cost as much as bitcoin in order to achieve that. If you are just talking about price, getting a higher marketcap than bitcoin, even with a lower price, wouldn't count as well? Since the number of ether coins in circulation is much larger than bitcoin, then it doesn't need to rise as much in order to achieve a higher marketcap.

Anyway, I don't really think both coins are competing for the same space, so I don't see one coin beating the other. It simply doesn't apply in my opinion.

I speak from the research and from the vision of the total supply in both coins is very different, BTC only has a total supply of 21 million BTC, while the ETH has a total supply is not visible or countless means that there will not be a significant increase in price means ETH is still can be obtained easily, because the more rare the goods or the more difficult to get then the price of an item will be expensive, and it applies in the BTC so I say ETH does not seem to beat BTC and like it is impossible.

could be, if the ethereum has a price like bitcoin. even the cost will be more expensive ethereum than bitcoin, if the price of ethereum dominates higher. because in some exchanges ethereum fee is 0.0095 - 0.01eth

Ethereum has their own advantages over Bitcoin but i do not think that Ethereum can surpass the milestones that Bitcoin has achieved. Maybe Ethereum can be at the side of Bitcoin and still has its value next to Bitcoin but surpassing Bitcoin is somewhat still not possible. If they start another way of developing and utilizing the use of Ethereum, then maybe it can surpass Bitcoin.

The possibility of Ethereum beat the bitcoin I think is very small, Ethereum just still follow the bitcoin so it is not possible bitcoin will be defeated by ethereum.
The value of ethereum with bitcoin is so far so it is impossible for ethereum to beat bitcoin in the near future.

I think the Ethereum will never reach the level of Bitcoin in terms of capitalization, since Bitcoin is the founder of crypto-currencies and the oldest crypto currency.

In 2018? Of course not. Probably not in the next two years. We all know eth's potential and it's use which is already being applied today, but the gap betweem these two in terms of market dominance is still quite big. Bitcoin will still be the face of crypto in probably 3-5 more years

I think the ETH will not be able to beat BTC Because we can the difference the level of the price between BTC and ETH,the Price of BTC we can say,for example, the price of BTC to $150 while the EHT the price is only $10 from that alone we can see that the ETH will not be able to beat BTC,but it could happen if enthusiasts BTC switch to ETH,if that happens maybe ETH can beat BTC.

yes bitcoin value is too high if your only basing in the price but when you based on their overall performance and statistics , etherium is the actual clear winner here. Why? because eth is stable and has been grown a lot ever since it was released in the public. Etherium is also fast and inexpensive if were talking about transactions , while bitcoin on the other hand is too pricy and slow. Overall if etherium will be given a time, for sure its value can grow more and it can now then totally compete in bitcoin.

Ethereum have very promising potential and great value as well, but I don't think it can beat BTC in the near future at least. Bitcoin is the first successful and valuable crypto currency right now, and its community is bigger than ETH community, despite that ETH community keep growing up fastly in the recent months.

yes, there is a chance Ethereum can have same price with bitcoin or maybe higher. if there are positive thing happen on ETH and bad things happen in BTC. only that 2 is the factor to change cryptocurrency price
