Its a big NO for me now that I saw that the transaction fees of bitcoin has gone way down and not as high as it is last year. Probably some didn't see that but I saw it because I transferred some of my bitcoin in an exchange account and the fees are around 4 digit only. If you are saying ETH will beat BTC this year, I don't see this is happening and once Lightning Network will be implemented Bitcoin will be use more in transactions because of faster tx speed and lower fees. so I will say NO for this.

Is there any chance that Ethereum will cost as much as Bitcoin in 2018?

no because even the biggest pumpers in the world can not pump a useless token that has an unlimited supply to a 10x pump after it is already in a bubble.

I think it's too much dificult to climb up bitcoin by ethereum in only 2018! bitcoin is older then ethereum and at present it's price is tenfold then ethereum! so I think it's too much impossible to overcome this price in 2018 by ethereum.

Is there any chance that Ethereum will cost as much as Bitcoin in 2018?
Who knows? I mean, everything is possible to happen. But on this case, continuous increase for a long time is needed for Etherium to beat Bitcoin. Given that Bitcoin has a high demand as well as a higher market value compared to ETH, surely it won't be easy for it to surpass Bitcoin which is a strong and considered to be the number 1 crypto for a long period of time.

Well, I don't think ethereum will beat bitcoin in any chances because bitcoin is always a founder of these cryptocurrencies.

I think ETH won't surpass BTC in the future. The market cap of BTC is so huge and it's still growing. Also, BTC is more famous than ETH so people will invest on the most trusted coin on the market.

Small chances in my opinion. I dont know what should happen to make ETH the biggest one in cryptocurrency in 2018
ETH hasn't been able to beat even BCH a spawn of BTC itself so i really don't see a chance of how it's going to be able to beat BTC.

There is a big possibility that it will. With the market value of Eth nowadays and its status in the community, time will come that it will have almost the same or exceed the Bitcoin. But, when it happen, Bitcoin holders should not be worried because it is the pioneering coins so it would be difficult to make it completely disappear.

No, Ethereum won't be able to surpass Bitcoin anytime soon. Ethereum network can be easily overloaded e.g. CryptoKitties or huge ICO. Ethereum is indeed great but these days, Bitcoin transactions are cheaper than Ethereum's so I don't see any reason why it would be better for payments. Ethereum was mostly designed to support ERC20 tokens, dApps and smart contracts which all are quite useful and have many purposes. It is wise to buy some and keep for the future.

If both segwit and later this year lightning network would be in full implementation, Ethereum won't surpass Bitcoin this year.

Ethereum is completely different so implementing these two things is not possible.

ETH is now approximately 10% of BTC value in $,so only way to ETH value go up is to BTC also go up.Maybe one day when BTC price reach 100 000 $, 1 ETH will be worth 10 000$.Of course this is only an assumption based on trends that are actual today, but ETH is relatively new coin in comparison to BTC.It may eventually become more valuable then today, but I think it will be difficult to take over BTC.

Depends on a number of factors but even it happens it will take a lot of time. I suggest you to focus on other alt coins if you are looking for returns in short time. Both bitcoins and ethereum are for long term investments.

I do not think so. This is especially unlikely in 2018. Bitcoin is the basis. Many consider their incomes in bitcoin. Different alts are also count in bitcoin, not Ethereum or the dollar / euro.

Bitcoin is always maintain a first position in crypto market because many altcoins are also good potential altcoin but most of the investors and companies are looking the Bitcoin so it will always peak in the market and it is maintain are constant position in every year. I believe no one should replace the Bitcoin value.

Ethereum will be able to achieve bitcoin value, but for 2018 it will be difficult for ethereum to achieve bitcoin value. I think by the year 2019 ethereum will be able to achieve bitcoin value.
