I don't think that bitcoin would be outdated by any other currency in near future, but a few currencies have got very good prospect in future such as Ethereum, Monero, and Neo.
You're right that bitcoin can be valuable because bitcoin is a currency with a belief principle. many issues are circulating about the negative about bitcoin and people still trust bitcoin, and bitcoin prices are getting more expensive. but I can not be sure that bitcoin will survive or be replaced by other crypto bits, because that's very difficult to predict
People have to rely on Bitcoin because technology has so far supported Bitcoin, so Bitcoin prices will be valuable as technology integrates with Bitcoin. I believe that Bitcoin will do many more innovations. 
I think it might happen in the future, if some cryptocurrency shows up which people finds better than bitcoin. But for now, I guess bitcoin is still the top cryptocurrency, people around the globe are aware of bitcoin nowadays, but they dont know any other cryptocurrency besides bitcoin, only those who are in the cryptocommunity are aware of these other cryptocurrencies. So in my opinion, bitcoin wouldnt be outdated by anyother cryptocurrency yet.

So far no technologically superior currency has emerged to Bitcoin to the point of provoking an abyss between technologies and will hardly emerge.

Every cryptocurrency in the market has the chance to replace bitcoins in the future depending on the platform because some of the developers are really trying for the price of their coins to grow even more.
I never thought bitcoin would expire. Bitcoin has survived nearly 9 years And has a very high value. And until now there is no altcoin whose value is almost equivalent to bitcoin. The most likely substitute for bitcoin is ethereum. But I'm optimistic bitcoin will not be replaced and expired.

It’s actually possible that this may happen but for now I think that Bitcoin is going to be King for a very long time and since the other crypto haven’t done anything that different from what bitcoin already have it’s going to be tough for any crypto to usurp the position of Bitcoins. we cant say for now, probably because its the first crptocurrency and no other currency for now has been able to meet up with the way sellers and buyers demand for bitcoin. All i can say is the future is brighter and anything just anything can happen.
Well yes, I think you are right. There is no other crypt currency that could have met the requirements and fame of bitcoins. They are the first crypto and this is making an addition to them being supreme. Eth and other altcoins are there too but people will choose that one who is most friendly with them in profits. And there is one most friendly coin, the one and only bitcoins.
Overall on the market, the coin that made the outdated BTC is probably ETH or BCH. Two coin strengths and can compete with BTC. But ETH still prevails over BCH. ETH is a pretty popular coin nowadays. In future ETH price may be on par with BTC.
I also dont think that bitcoin would ever by outdatet by any other coin. I think bitcoin will lead the charts of the most alued coin for a long time. But i think there will be a coin in future, which will be more famous and more used. This coin im talking about will be the coin that will accepted as daily payment method by the mainstream. So this coin will most the time have the same price and will not so volatil like bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency right now.
