It is not a good thing to gamble for a long period of time. I think just like other bad habits (smoking and drinking alcohol) the sooner you quit the better it will be for you. If you think you’ll be very very wealthy in your late age then sure, it won’t hurt to gamble sometimes but most people will need lots of money to pay for the healthcare. When you get old, you’ll likely to get lots if health problems and healthcare isn’t cheap. If you want to receive quality treatment, you need to pay for it. Youngsters usually don’t plan that far ahead and that’s why they usually struggle financially when get old.

My question is this, will you continue to gamble till old age, or you have planned to stop gambling at a certain age?
I am not referring to addicted gamblers that will learn a hard lesson before the quit, but only responsible gamblers that are taking all prevention measures to addiction.

To be fair, I never thought about gambling until today. Although I go into gambling. So I don't plan on gambling until old age. I will try to get out of the gambling platform before that. Although all my friends gamble and earn a lot. But when I tell them to gamble for the rest of their lives. Friends say he will play for 40-50 years. So if I get addicted to gambling then it will take a long time to retire from it. Which is a lot of trouble. If I consider the good of my family, I should hope to return before old age. Because gambling can be played till the age of 40. After 40 years can not be played under the pressure of family or children.

I was a irresponsible gambler but now trying to becoming responsible or will quite if possible, but it's fun to play with money which i can afford to lose, or extra money which i go to waste every month on unwanted things.
I will play for fun until i have that extra money, once my responsibility will increase like after marriage or so, I will become short on funds or may I find a better job with high salary. then i will consider according to the situation.
But, when I eventually have kids, I'll need to either quit gambling entirely or be very discreet about it so they don't see me. It's probably best to quit altogether and focus on enjoying life with my family once the kids are grown up.

I dont think so, I think I should have a limit for it because I want to spend and enjoy the time with family more once I'm getting older. I've reduced my gambling activity since the pandemic till now. Unlike in the past when I spent some money every single week for gambling but now I'm able to not do gambling for few months. Maybe it is just my start before I will stop gambling completely in the future.
The most important thing is to limit everything, limit betting and also limit your budget and limit your time for gambling. After all, why spend your old age gambling and as technology develops, of course casino games will also become more advanced, plus old age doesn't seem to allow it. To gamble and have fun, there must be certain limits to stop so that you don't really become a gambling addict until you get old.

You have done a good job reducing gambling activities, it will indeed make us lose the desire to gamble, especially if you have hobbies and other activities that are more enjoyable than gambling, maybe it will help you slowly stop gambling, really learn to do it from the start so it's not too difficult to stop when you get old.

It means you were seeing gambling as a part of your daily activities. I never try to do that coz im seeing gambling as entertain for me. It depends on how you are seeing it. I don't have a specific age to retire as i didn't even need it. I play when i need it for entertain purpose only and i don't play when i don't need it. Don't take it seriously and see gambling as a way to get cheer up your life. You shall take it easy. Never try to see gambling as something that will be really hurting your life. You can even spend a few dollars for fun only.
Gambling is still safe as long as you will not be addicted. Just try to control yourself and everything is fine. I don't even know why do we need a specific age to retire from gambling.

Gambling is about luck and entertainment.
You make good points. I find it intriguing that you gamble for fun. Many allow it to control their life. Good to hear you've achieved equilibrium. Remember that not everyone has your self-control. Some are drawn in and become immersed.

Your position on gambling retirement without a set age is intriguing. How you see it matters, you're right. However, dont you suppose priorities change and individuals lose interest as they age? What if your "lucky streak" fades with age?

Everything needs balance, and you've found yours. Enjoy it, but be careful.

What can determine when one will start not giving interest in gambling can be not having interest in sports, the way we engage in sport is one of the reasons we play gambling by predicting. Their is no specific time when people must stop playing gambling, the urge for gambling dies up for different reasons and different time for every individual.  But it is assume that by old age gambling urge is supposed to reduce because this is the point of life in which people don't have time and interest to do what used to be fun for them. It is rare to see people keep playing gambling till their old age.

All of my commenters here are more or less related to this. It never occurred to us to leave it because it is a means of earning money instead of enjoyment.

You said here that you will left it in old age but do you think you can give it up. It will slowly leave your enjoyment medium and become an absolute addiction. Yes you can skip this because people are only changelings. You can get out of it if you want but I think it will be hard for you in old age. In my opinion, those who are attached to it from a young age may never come out of it in old age. Because it is a means of enjoyment as well as a means of earning money.
If a person is going to leave gambling at a certain age, he should leave it without any reason because that is his plan. It's hard to leave something we've done from a young age, but we already have a plan and must do it even though it's not easy. However, we must leave it when the time comes so we don't gamble again in old age. But we can still gamble occasionally with friends our age to reminisce about the past. Giving up gambling can be done if a person has good self-control to give up gambling easily.

Yes, I have seen gambling sites as a place to make money when I lost a lot of money. But I realized that was the wrong thing because the longer I gambled, the more money I lost

Stopping gambling instantly is not an easy thing to do unless we experience several things, one of the things that made me stop was that I almost lost all my money so like it or not I had to stop. After that period passed, now I rarely gamble, I limit my gambling activities to only once a week

Why not, right? There's no age limit to gambling, as long as you're mature enough (at least 18 years old), you're good to go. If gambling brings you happiness and you see it as entertainment, then sure, I'd keep gambling even if I got older, as long as I'm still financially and mentally capable. These days, you can gamble from the comfort of your own home, right on your phone or computer. It's pretty convenient, and it's a way to keep things interesting as we grow older.
I think I have different opinion from yours and that's because of the factors that should be considered before gambling at old age. I don't think it's an engagement that old people are supposed to get involved in because of how nervous it is to gamble. For instance, whenever one stakes his money, he's always nervous about it on wether he's gonna win his stake or lose it and that is unhealthy for an old man because the anxiety can be too bad for his medical condition. So people should gamble as much as they want but shouldn't continue at old age for the purpose of their health.
I totally respect your take, but when it comes to feeling nervous, I say forget about it! We're basically gambling day in and day out, and that ain't gonna change even as we get older. So why feel nervous, right? I reckon the most important thing is that rush, that thrill – that's why people dive into gambling in the first place.

And don't stress about money being on the line. When we're older, we'll be more mature about it, you know? We'll stick to the 'gamble what you can afford to lose' rule, always keep that in mind.

Personally, for me, if that vibe, or should I say zeal to gamble, is still there, probably I will keep gambling, and perhaps what age rank are you really referring to, apart from your own chosen age range, which is 42? While I was still growing up, and even now, I still see old people who are still gambling very seriously, My granddad is very old now; he is around 80+ now, and he doesn't gamble again, but I can still remember very well that during the time he was still around the age of 60–70, he was still gambling, and his favorite casino is one local bet company in my country that is known by the name Pool. We are all different people, and as we grow older each day, we change our tastes in things and also choose different lifestyles. I don't know when I will stop gambling; it might be when I am so old that my brains can no longer reason accurately.

are you going to gamble even when you are old, or you will quit gambling at a certain age.

I don't think anybody who started gambling at a young age will like to continue at an old age if they really experienced bad gambling habits. But for some people who always claim that they gamble for fun, I can't say they will like to stop at old age because that is where they do find some happiness. But as for me, I am even praying to quit it even at this young age because it hardly makes me happy but always makes me sad. And in my observations, gambling is just a waste of money and time because it is not a way of making money but rather than losing money.

We don't know yet our future if we can still reach in 50+ ages or not but For me if I have given a chance to get older then for sure I will still gamble for fun. Actually here in my country like what other said there are many old people still gamble not just because they are addict but they will still gamble because they will feel happiness when they are in a world of gambling .

Even at 50+ one can still find gambling to be more interesting to play, but when you begin to reach age 70+ i don't think there's anything fun in gambling as you would have gotten while you're still younger, when we get to certain age limit, we will by ourselves adjust without anyone to tell us what to do, gambling is for fun, but when we are old enough then it will be our joy in seing the younger generations and our grandchildren playing it than we doing it ourselves, that is why we just have to enjoy it all while it last and we are still young in age.
The love of gambling makes someone play even though they are old already and retiring. As long as they still see gambling as their pastime, they will go and play just like in the old days when they were young and strong. Of course, with their age, they still have the chance to win but I don't think they are in after with that because what is in their mind is to enjoy their life while still alive.
If my father is a gambler and is still playing now, I don't stop him either but to let him go with what he wants.

Agree with this mate people who are in aging 60+ then for sure they will not hunt profit anymore cause like what you've said above they all they need want is to be happy, all they want is to make themselves comfortable and once they are bored then they will choose gamble for fun and  for entertainment. And also as we saw that nowadays there are many old gambler still gamble band when they are lucky then they hit the jackpot and won.

My question is this, will you continue to gamble till old age, or you have planned to stop gambling at a certain age?

Gambling is a negative habit that can never bring good results in society rather gambling is responsible for social degradation. I can continue gambling up to a certain age in life then I will not continue this terrible vice called gambling in the later stage of life. As I live in a family it will never be possible for me to continue gambling till the end of my life. As my children grow up, my children will follow me into a career. So if I continue gambling as guardian then my children will see me encouraged and they will also involve themselves in gambling which is not desirable at all. So to secure my child's future and build a good career, I must give up the bad habit of gambling.
Not only gambling giving up on all form of bad habit when we reach certain stage in life make more sense most especially because it will have a positive impact on your general well-being and also make you a good role model to your kids and just as you rightly mentioned, designing and discovering a good career part is the best form of legacy to leave behind for our kids and if we find ourselves happily pursuing thay career, our kids will grow to see us doing what makes us happy and we can as well introduce them into such career part.
But letting them be exposed to gambling is truly an off parenting goals unless if they grow up to some certain age which by then I know the mental alacrity can comprehend such thing as gambling and understand its risk respectfully.

Surely I will gamble in my old ages, because I will save money to live in the old ages.So the money which I was saving also include for the gambling at the old ages.I will earn the money till my 55 years and hold the money to gamble above the fifty five years. The addiction is not the cause of this reaction, the affection towards the gambling was the main reason for this.If the gambler get the affection towards the gambling,So he plan to live the gambling till their dead.Same was the opinion of myself being the gambler.
I appreciate the plan you said, but would not it be better for you to save for something more important than saving just to have fun in your old age?
TBH, I might still gamble in my old age but I did not plan it that way or rather look at the conditions and situations in my old age and I also saved but not for old age but to build a lot of business to get a big income in my life. old age later. so even though I am not currently saving for my old age, at least I have a lot of business savings and in my old age I will enjoy the results and after that I am free to use the money for gambling or whatever.

and all of this is just my opinion, not meant to give you advice because I can appreciate that everyone goals are different.
I do think that it's not something that should be planned neither. It feels like if you end up gambling, that would be a lot better but without that I do not think that we could eventually do something like this, it doesn't feel like it should be all that much of a big deal.

I believe that the best thing to do would be arranging something that should be getting a better deal, and for that to happen we need to make sure that we could end up with a return that would be all the merry greater. I get that it's going to be harder to handle it, but we could give it some time and old age could show us what we want to do. I do not know what I want to eat tonight let alone know if I am going to gamble at old age or not, that's an important deal.

You might have a clear point of view, but I still stand on my ground that gambling doesn't have a maximum age. If a gambler is willing to gamble from his young age to an old age, that is not a problem for anyone, but as long as he's not an addicted gambler, he should be free to gamble.

Gamblers only have a minimum age, but I haven't seen a maximum age for gambling. Although it has been said over here that gambling is for fun, that means even an old person can also gamble. As long as the gambler is happy, he can still gamble. I also believe that every person can decide for himself more, especially when the person isn't a child anymore.

Yes, this is 100% true, the potential for gambling addiction should not be underestimated in any age group. Even at the age of 60, addiction can manifest itself in a more aggressive form than at a young age. But I meant that, on average, older people are calmer if divided into 2 large groups: young and old gamblers.

When I often see on TV or on the Internet when they show Las Vegas, there are a lot of retirees sitting at the slot machines, but I think they like to go out somewhere and spend time, which they have plenty of. Young people prefer to play online, and of course there are tens or hundreds of times more of them than those pensioners. This is also facilitated by aggressive advertising of gambling in all areas, even in games such as Dota 2 and CS, where rare items that cost a lot of money fall out of the chest. I would even call it a hidden form of gambling that minors are taught to do from a young age. I think this is a real problem.
Gambling addiction is age-neutral. Young or old, gaming can be highly alluring. Yes, older people may appear calmer, but it doesn't mean their addiction is weaker

We often assume Las Vegas retirees are there for fun. Who knows what's in their minds?
Of course, not all retirees always have the right mindset as I said above, and it's only right that no one can know what's really on their mind, it's not uncommon that they can think of something even beyond our expectations. So the point is that whether they are addicted or not cannot be measured by who they are, how old they are, only they know what they will do.
Those who are already old enough have the ability to analyze judgments. They know very well where to stop and where to go. It is difficult for an older person to get addicted to gambling rather he can manage gambling very well. They can be careful where others go wrong because they have more experience than a newbie. I am not worried about addiction especially for older ages gambler. But what I think is important is what they want to do at that time. If an old man enjoys gambling I will certainly let him do so. He can take the decision which he understands best considering his physical and human aspect.
