It's okay buddy, regret is bound to come and it's always at the end, you've tasted all the bitterness in gambling and thank goodness now you're aware of the mistakes you've made in the past, regret is natural and instead of continuing to think about it with various assumptions that the reality you get is like unfair I think it's better to look forward because time will not be able to turn again.

So it's better to try to make peace with the situation and the reality that has happened, and then think about what positive things we will do next, and of course that can have a good impact on ourselves. You can start from zero and with a healthy mindset and also not overdo it, it's never too late for a better change. Yes, it's better that way, gambling is only for yourself because whatever happens only you will feel and bear all the risks, if you try to invite other people then it is very likely that if the person is addicted and experiences a lot of defeat, they will come to blame you, it is very possible.

Old people like senior citizens already have a lot of free time or we can considered that most of their time is already free since they are all retired or not capable of working anymore.

Old people that gambling during their young age usually spend their free time most on gambling. In our local bingo shop, most of the players is old people that regularly playing since most of them is already living on their own since their children already have their own family. Old people is actually the one that is not prone to addiction since they are not aggressive anymore on achieving huge win.

It true that there no problem whatsoever with gambling into old age as long as you can still have limits and gamble just for fun but at least it would be better in old age to gamble once week just to fill your free time and entertain yourself so you don't get bored.
After all gambling is choice and a right of each person and no one can prohibit it.
There are quite a lot of people out there in old age who still carry out active gambling activities either using savings or money given to them by their children but this should be more strictly limited and controlled because it can also cause child misunderstanding of parent.
Wouldn't you also be little disappointed if you gave some money to your parents for the purpose of holding on when you wanted something to buy but instead the money was used for gambling.
Personally I would oppose what my parents did when they were still actively gambling but if it was just to get rid of the boredom of gambling once week or once month with small amount of money then it wouldn't be a problem that should be discussed.

Yes, I agree that it depends on themselves, if they are still very happy to do it then until whenever the habit will continue to be done, I'm sure they also don't really know how long it will happen, and certainly various pressures, especially financial, will continue to bother them. For those who have never fallen into the trap of addiction, then surely they will only gamble according to what they want, I mean any temptation they will not really care because their mindset from the beginning came right that this is not a place to earn income but only for entertainment. For those who gamble just for fun and to fill their spare time, of course in terms of budget they will not really plan it, maybe they will only gamble when they have money left over from monthly shopping or money left over from their snacks, and even if they end up losing they will be normal and continue to do other activities as usual. True, as I mentioned earlier the age or time factor cannot be fully targeted to stop, because it depends on themselves how long they want to do it.

Well assuming to quit in old age could be a good option, because you wouldn't want to be stuck in that cycle forever, and it's true that it depends on the person's decision.

I do not really see anything wrong with gambling at old age. If you do that responsibly and for fun without being addicted to the point of becoming a headache to your family then its okay as long as you are okay with it.To some point you should know when to call it a quit because at some stage at ones old age, you would not be able to engage in some kind of activities so it is better you start early enough to limit your gambling life style so as to enable do away with it at old age.

Gambling till you get old is somehow not a good thing for yourself, family or relatives. Getting old means you don't have that much time so why not spend it with your loved ones instead of gambling. Maybe you gamble with your friends but it would be better to enjoy life with the family, laugh together, eat together, literally give all your time for them as you grow older.
So, I will definitely stop gambling by the time I grow older. Even if its fun and entertaining, even if I have much money by that time, I wouldn't care anymore as long as I enjoy my time with my family. Much enjoyable than gambling.

Well, I clearly understand the point you are coming from but honestly, you don't actually have to do something until it harms you before you stop, and besides, gambling can harm if for what ever reason, you gamble excessively by staking or betting funds you cant afford to lose.

But all the same, as long as the rules of responsible gambling is adhered to always, rest assured that ones life of gambling will be nothing short of good experience.

Now speaking of myself, in as much as i do not see any harm in gambling even in old age, I personally don't think i will be gambling in old age, as I believe I will be having a lot of activities, business to take care of even when old, I may never have time to gamble by then, this is why I am enjoying the game right now that I have the time.

Somehow I see the point you are making. At old age, we cannot be stressed anymore due to a weaker body or it might kill us earlier. I guess I will join you on that decision, I will also stop at some point but I still don't see it right now. Perhaps, when I see my grandkids, that's when I can tell that gambling should be enough and just watch the sports that I love. Because in my last posts here I think I shared that I won't be stopping because I do love sports like basketball and putting in a bet makes the game more thrilling. Maybe there will also be a point in my life that the thrill of the game will be gone and I will just watch it like a normal game.
But right now, this is a decision that is difficult to make because we cannot see the future. My Grandpa still made bets on the national lottery at 82 years old and I am the one who is taking his list to the lottery outlet. We cannot tell how we will end up, especially with gambling sites access got a whole lot easier.

Why not? as long as you don't have a heart attack disease or something that can occur because of adrenaline or surprise in gambling, you can gamble entire of your life. For me, as long as my financial is always good, I will keep gamble until I'm old.

Why need to stop when gambling didn't harm me?

When someone has found pleasure in gambling, it may be difficult for him to stop gambling even though he does not have a gambling addiction because he can control himself when gambling. Apart from that, he only gambles occasionally to prevent himself from getting addicted to gambling. When gambling, he always has a special budget for gambling and will not exceed his limits. So there is a possibility that he will continue to gamble but periodically and will not exceed his limits because he knows the consequences of gambling excessively. That is why someone may continue playing even though he has reached the age target set for him to stop gambling.

But maybe it's best if someone is over 40 or 50 years old, he can stop gambling and look for other activities so that he won't return to gambling. This is to refresh his mind and be able to enjoy his life well without gambling. But it really depends on the person because someone will stop gambling because of their own decision.

Of course so, gambling should only be for fun and not be the main goal in seeking profit but most people think gambling can provide big wins to change their lives, this principle is in gambling addicts. but in my opinion this is the wrong principle. they should have a principle only limited to entertainment and nothing more than that if they think gambling can change their lives then it is likely that they will lose some of their assets or even all of their assets.

Especially in young people, it is true that they say "As long as you have the funds or money to play then it won't be a problem" but their mistake is to keep betting even though they always lose, they are sure of victory if they continue to play, small or large they play, of course it will drain their money unconsciously because they have been consumed by the victory promised by the gambling admin. The thirst for victory in a gambling addict is so high that they are even willing to sacrifice whatever they have, instead of realizing the defeat they got but they even bet bigger to be able to turn things around, it is not wrong to expect victory but even if you win it is not equivalent to what you have lost.

Gambling is really just that for fun but its true that losing money is never been a fun thing and this is why on the time that you do deal up with gambling then you should really be that trying out to convince yourself that winning is really just that a bonus or something that would really be that speaking about on how lucky you are and since we cant really be lucky all the time then losses is much more than on chances of winning and this is something that we should realize since from the start. Gambling doesnt really restrict out about the age you do have whether you are old or middle-age but not something recommended for young ones. As long you do have the funds or money to play with then it wont really be that an issue. As long you do make yourself that doing that responsible gambling
then it should really be just fine. We do know about imposed risks that it could have if we do tend to be that impulsive about it and this is why we should really be that careful.

Gambling is a fun, entertaining game, but we can turn it into stress and pressure from gambling. Of course, gambling will not be suitable for people who care about winning and losing. I agree with your comment ''just focus on family or invest in retirement fund''. I can apply this to myself because I am passionate about this game of chance. So stopping gambling can help me be in better spirits when I get older. I will have a plan in place until I get old and will be determined to stop it.

Gambling is my passion but I don’t see myself growing old with it. There’s definitely a time that I have to stop gambling and just focus on my family or on my retirement investment for good. I believe gambling is too hard to manage anymore when you’re already old. Your heart gets even weaker so you need not to be exposed anymore with stress and pressures from gambling. But for now, I’m still enjoying gambling, and I can’t tell exactly as to what age I’m going to retire from gambling.

The trouble with old age is that your income will be limited. Since you are not going to be working, or at least most people hope that they won't be working and just hoping that they would end up with something like a special case, I am guessing that there is going to be limited amount of income. This doesn't mean it will be zero, if you invested smartly you would have some money to retire, some retire at 45, some retire at 75, whatever age you retire, since you are not actively going to work, there is no way that you could make it back.

So, it would be smart not to keep gambling at old age, or even if you do end up doing it, just like how old people play bingo or something, doing a thing like that would make more sense. This should be the most important difference because it would be a small amount that wouldn't hurt your budget. If you keep gambling the same way as you did when you were young, that money gone would be a dangerous thing for your future.

The answer to the question though is who knows??  I remember being a kid and playing with my toys and thinking to myself "I love playing with toys, I will always do so even when I grow up" but of course I phased out of it.  This is also sort of like the question I've always asked, will I keep listening to hip hop when I'm older.  Well I'm nearly 40 and love it just as much as I did when I was 15.  Just like with listening to hip hop, I can't see myself stopping gambling because I'm getting older.  And man, 42 is not old! lol

For as long as I continue to watch and follow my favorite sports, athletes, and players then I will also continue to gamble regularly. Unless I am suffering from a massive financial problem which I hope won't happen. Or maybe my betting activities seldom happen because I become very busy with some other stuff that I also love doing.

So generally the plan is to continue having small regular bets. Stay in this forum, have fun, and join tournaments or maybe make tournaments again if I have the luxury of time.

Sometimes remember feeling unfair with the bitter taste I experienced before, until now, sometimes my heart is not yet at peace with reality. I experienced a lot of wasted time and creative work in the past. Now try to be patient and rise again from zero even though it will take a lot of sacrifice.
Yes, I never invite people to gamble, mostly because of the environment and social media circles that make other people get carried away

As I said above and you have repeated here that whatever condition you are in in gambling honestly other people will not care too much about you, except maybe your closest family who will be a little encouraging to get back up, there are only some friends who are still close to you, some of them will stay away because it is very likely that they are afraid of being affected like you feel there. This is a very valuable life experience that should indeed be made into lessons, take lessons and change everything into something better, that's all we can do for a better start.

To be honest, there is no prohibition for anyone to gamble, therefore only you yourself can create various restrictions including self-control so that everything does not go out of control, which can really cause something unwanted to happen to you. If you have agreed with yourself with whatever risks that will occur there, then go ahead and do whatever you want, as long as you don't invite other people to come to your lost path, whether good or bad, only you will feel it. I'm sure all gamblers don't want to experience a large amount of defeat so therefore always set a healthy and realistic mindset, after all this is just a place to seek entertainment not income, don't let you get trapped.

Yes, that's the fact, there are absolutely no restrictions and regulations regarding how long they have to do this activity, it all depends on themselves how long they want to do it. And I think for gambling problems like this that are clearly there are many high risks there will not make them too long in this gambling activity, because there will definitely be a lot of significant things happening to them including many losses, and that condition is not comfortable at all. Even if you have targeted to stop gambling at the age of 40 and when you have reached that age it does not mean that it is impossible for you to break it, as we know how difficult it is to exercise self-control when gambling even though we have previously planned it and it is not uncommon for them when they reach the time to break the limit.

It depends on the person and how interested they are in gambling, so I don't think it can be measured in terms of time, and only awareness will make you not do it anymore and really think that this is just an activity that is a waste of time and money.
