Dear bitcointalk users!
We encountered a problem: a critical bug was discovered that allowed some of the players to get access to the server seed.
Unfortunately , the users didn't report the bug , but attempted to abuse it instead. Due to the fact that windice.io has instant withdrawals,  our hot wallets were drained for over 3 bitcoins in total.
After we detected a suspicious activity , we temporarily turned the withdrawals off and contacted one of the exploiters , who refused to return the coins obtained by the  bug abuse
and asked for a 1 bitcoin payment in exchange for cancelling his  pending 2 bitcoin withdrawal and revealing the bug.

The bug description: 1.Server seed (secret seed) is revealed after a player changes his server seed to a new one.
2. Windice has a function to change the client seed only , without changing the server seed.
3. After the client seed was  changed , due to the bug , some of the players were able to see the server seed in their past bets since it was identical to the one from the previous session.

Due to the aforementioned , we decided to reset the sessions and/or reset the balances of the players with the following nicknames: ( not all of the accounts reset abused the bug )


At the moment we turned the option to change the client seed to a custom one off . Only randomizing of the client seed is possible.
Payouts and deposits are paused for  several hours until we investigate.All your deposits and balances are safe.

This is common users mentality. He is into early days of gambling. If he have spend good into gambling earlier surely he should have never let the entire funds won to be lost on the consecutive games. Same as this I've seen courageous gamblers who spend 50 btc into gambling and took a return of more than 300 btc.

Yeah completely agree with you. Now the rain has been adjusted and it's random.
So now the users of the site be ready as anytime the Windice can make raim on you if you remain active on the chat.
Moreover i also agree that the site has more generous quantity of rain, like i got almsot 5k satoshis rainfall from the bot. I have also witnessed that many people are collecting the rain and are not too far away from making a withdraw from the freebies. Moreover WinDice also need to consider that, they must allow only the withdraw if the user makes an deposit.
Else they can make a restriction of wagering atleast some amount of btcs in order to catch rains.

the rain was not deactivated , it is random and depends on many factors
pretty sure it happened   that day , just  was not as heavy and was far in between , but if you check the site today , for example
the rains are plentiful and bountiful and happen often  
the number of users grew because of the agressive promo campaigns run by Windice
and it doesn't mean that rains depend on the number of the users in chat - its probably the opposite , haha
number of users in chat depend heavily on the freebies and bonuses they get for chatting

Hi everyone. Made a new account for this as I unfortunately used my real identity with my account on windice and dont want it associated with my bitcointalk account - so take this for what it is.

That being said, I would like to say a few words about this site and my experience. I decided to give it a spin - its fast, responsive and overall very well done. The security options are comprehensive and the chat allows for direct mesages - all features that I love.

I have managed to end up about  0.6btc in profit. Withdrawal was instant and, again, a very solid experience.

This seems like a site that will become on of the greats like PD. My two cents.

I think it is okay if there's no rain because faucet will be fine for those who want to try on site. I saw that it's too crowded you can't communicate it will because there's a ton of reply. Some are doing spam just to be active on chat box and receive rain. Indeed, good gambling site especially those who want to try rolling they can do for free.

Just a couple of days ago the number of users increase and the windice rain was deactivated. I don't know what's the main reason about it, but I guess it is because of the rain catchers. Now that there's no more rain, the chatroom is now back to normal 

Today I visited windice after not being there for several days and it was nice to see that I was rained by 2k+ satoshis while I was out. I've noticed that there are more players online(142) than in previous times and that the chat is much more active than before. Also one can set an avatar now, which I did, but I lost my one green star after updating. I think the number of stars below your avatar depends on the wagered amount, but I'm not sure, because it can also depend on date registered and number of chat messages. Is this info available somewhere?

In short that as long as your referrals won't make deposits although they are under your referral link, there's no commission. That's how the referral system works, they sign up through your link, they deposit and you get commission from them.

But if they just signed up but did nothing, you'll also get nothing. Yes, they will be listed under your referrals but no progress made until they deposit, I hope it's clear now.

Sorry, it's my mistake dude, i am going to correct it in the OP. I meant that their fees for withdraw is just 10k satoshis, not the withdraw amount. Their withdraw amount is still 0.002 BTC. I am really sorry for my typing mistake lol.
