Correct. that's what we have to do. We must strive to be independent without having to rely on assistance from the government in providing jobs. But I know that the most common obstacle for someone to build a business is limited capital. And this is always a complaint for most people. Having my own business without relying on jobs paid by the government is much better in my opinion. I think you already answer your question, you already survive without a government employment job, there are a lot of opportunities even if government will not provide any job there are a lot of private business company that needs worker and you can apply on them, but the best way to earn is through business just like what you did even if it is a small business you will earn huge profit on it. Many people blame the government too much when the government is deemed to have failed to fulfill what they want, we must realize that the government's burden is very heavy so we must think and act smartly to get a better job or income, especially now it's very easy to get any information because almost everyone is connected to the internet.

Government can not do everything for it's citizens, because it has it's hands full providing and maintaining basic amenities, protecting the territorial integrity of the country, maintaining law and order in the country. Governments can not provide jobs for every citizen of the country, except those that will carry out the civic duties mentioned above.

Society can't function without the government, and not all of the people have the privileged to be self-employed on something that pays well to put food in their table. There's a lot work that the government does, however it is true that they are mostly not solving major problems in different countries, that's why a lot of people suffer.
You can't say that people starve because they are lazy, not all of us has a good pay grade, for example, farmers here in my country are poor because the Government are not supporting them very well.

I agree that higher education should prepare individuals for their future and enable them to contribute to society in meaningful ways. If a man reads and writes to get a job, then he will get a job it’s good otherwise don’t get a job it’s harmful for him. So, everyone does a business or something different, it will be good for anyone.
Government job is the most reliable and consistent thing now and one should try his best to get one because they are permanent and you have alot of facilities in that. But along with that side business is very important for your survival too.
Government job usually doesn't take too much time, maybe only 5 days a week so the remaining 2 days or when we get home from work we can use it for other things such as working online, don't rely too much on one source, if possible then more sources are safer because many unexpected things can happen in our life.
