Based on the article, it's not yet confirmed that it's an actual collateral. It's like the bystanders were the ones to tell that to the reporter and police that the mother has left and likely made her son as a colletaral.
But the article says that, the mother just leave and left her son and it's just a rumor that the kid was a collateral. The policemen are still looking for some information about the woman and they're having hard time on gathering that because the kid can't talk.
My take on this is that the girl can't just accept the fact that she lost a lot and out of mind to leave her child.
You got a point there. Why would a casino accept a kid as collateral. That's a crime for both the casino and the parent.
A good mother don't normally leave a kid behind. So there must be something that pushes this woman. Strange but it could be that the kid is not hers.
Also, a 4yr old kid but can't talk, its either the mother is really this crazy that she forgot to teach the kid?
That means that she's not responsible and is a bad parent. Oh, I've realized that too late, yeah a 4-year old and still barely talks. That's already late for talking and there's more of an alarming issue with the kid by having a late speech recognition.
Seems like this news is another sensationalized article to gather people interest. I don't think that a license gambling establishment will allow such kind of thing. I hate it when the writer put up this kind of news and making rumors as the base of their story. No legal business will take people as a collateral especially those that are owned by the government. This news is just a click bait, IMO.
It's a way to attract readers and many of us got hooked and those that are only reading the headline would end up having their thoughts already that why a casino/lottery allowed it.
Well, in a sense of the situation there, it's probably that the mother just left the kid without talking out of frustration with her losses.
