Hi cryptx,

Could you confirm people who wish to keep their order still get the chance to order bitfury's before the public?

Just to inform you about our services.

ASIC HARDWARE:
ASIC Hardware is a fully owned subsidiary of the Belgian based company CryptX. ASIC Hardware provides a platform were Bitcoin mining hardware can be ordered. We will be live very soon.

The Bitburner Fury
We will offer fully assembled and tested Bitcoin mining board. The board will hold 16 Bitfury ASIC chips. Our chip order is the first order in the queue of the delivery of 20 September. The board will have an external clock which makes it possible to overclock the chips. The board is designed by Burnin Electronics.

Burnin Mining customers
The existing customers can log in with the same login and password from burninmining.com. They are presented with 3 choices:
•   50% refund of your entire order
•   Recover 70% of your boards + 100% of your shipping costs and accessories as a discount on a Bitfury board order*
•   keep your original order

*If you choose this option, you will automatically receive a coupon that can be used on a Bitfury board order. The coupon will give you the discount you are entitled to.

New customers
We also welcome new customers to our site. We offer the same product to them.

My Roadmap:
end of September to November - Bitfury 55nm
from early January 2014  - CoinTerra - 28nm

Regarding the BitBurner XX -> Bitburner Fury process:
CryptX will provide the chips.
Migrated customers will be able to order before the public.
ETA of the boards: early October.

Hmm, that's almost enough to make me cancel my Bitburner XX order - if you're saying cancelling is the only way to get an early Bitburner Fury :-(

Seems an odd way to reward those of us who decided to hang in there with you rather than bailing on the project

EDIT TO ADD: How about allowing all existing customers early access, whether or not they choose to keep their Bitburner XX orders open?

roy

As far as I understand, ALL migrated customers (those that are actually in burnins database) get the chance to order an early version of BitFurry, so you don't need to cancel your previous order.

Ah, that would make sense - I hope that's what it means....  (I took 'migrated customer' to mean customers who had migrated their order from a Bitburner XX to a Bitburner Fury - but I think your interpretation makes more sense.)

And sorry, burnin, for jumping to conclusions here - you're doing a great job, and I'm looking forward to mining with your products.

I appreciate that, thank you Smiley

When and how can we migrate to Bitburner Fury? I assume this will happen through CryptX' site: http://www.asic-hardware.com/ ?

Only if the chips are pin and protocol-compatible it would be possible to use the old boards for them.
(Maybe even remove the old chips and replace them for the delivered ones)
But i think those chips will have a different pinouts/interface/package.

Also with the Cointerras on the horizon i also doubt the Avalon 55nm chips will be available fast enough to compete with them.
Additionally we already have 55nm chips available to us NOW, those are the Bitfurys.

Thanks for the update, glad to see you working on the new chips!

The 2 bitburners I received have been excellent -- hardware (and interface to cgminer) is rock solid which is impressive for a first version product!

Now I just need more to add to the stack!

Anyone else have chips shipped to Burnin 2 weeks ago as part of Zefir's Batch 2 and are waiting on a response from Burnin? The only updates I have seen from him are about how he has been processing refunds and working on Bitfury project. Has anyone heard anything about the Zefir Batch 2 chips that were sent to Burnin?

I've tried contacting via forum, PM, email. nothing..

They are all finished now and i should receive them tomorrow.
To get shorter manufacturing time i need reliable AND exact information when i will receive the chips.
But as german customs were involved this time there was no way to know when i would receive them.
My contractor received the chips on Monday last Week, actual manufacturing began on Thursday that week.

My manufacturing partners offer short reaction times in comparison to the rest of the industry but i can't afford to have the machines rigged up and waiting for the Avalon chips.
The machines have to be rigged up prior to assembly, that takes time and costs money.
Also if i have the machine standing still waiting for a chip delivery that would cost me per hour.

Thank you for the update.

More interesting would be the migration of the Bitburners to the 55nm chips.

@burnin
I know you can't tell us if its possible as long as there are no specs released,
but would you be willing to put in some effort if it would only include to change
the software part to the existing hardware layout?

I poses a preorder of some chips and i intended to hold them, but with this
whole PR stunt of some 400 thousandish chips which we will probably not
even get the slightest glimpse of, plus the announcement of their 55nm
chips, i am seriously considering getting rid of my chips.
Would be a nice bonus if you could recycle the boards to next-gen and
of course my orders with them Grin

Linux since 1997 RedHat 4
When I run with --debug I see tons of:

Code:
[2013-09-10 20:26:11] BTB0: Get avalon read got err 0
 [2013-09-10 20:26:11] BTB0: Get avalon read got err 0
 [2013-09-10 20:26:11] BTB0: Get avalon read got err 0

...and so on.  That's not normal, is it?

That's normal.
0 = no error.

I've got a 1.0.2 firmware that forces the 20 chip count
I'll PM you a link.

Kano is that firmware the same as 1.0.2? I have 1 BTB that is half the speed and was wondering if that will cure the problem. Ive spoken to Burnin about it and he said to send it back but there is no point as Diff will increase so much by the time the board is back and will have 1 btb less for hell knows how long.

..yeah
Could anyone update me on the achieved hashrates? Whats the best one could achieve, power draw, warranty voids? Any bitburner gone bad? How hot are you guys letting them run? any specific piece (except for the chips) that needs an extra eye on (extra cooling)?

GET IN - Smart Ticket Protocol - Live in market!
Here's a picture of my setup, while not completely finished with tidying up all the wires and going to relocate it off the table once I have everything ready to go. Unit will have 3 140 mm fans pumping heat out the top, 2 140 mm pumping heat out the Left side, and 3 140 mm pumping heat out of the right side, and 1 big box fan pumping air in from behind. The front of the case will get covered back up if or when I get bored of the flashing lights or after Christmas....LOL

For the Case I used a NZXT 810 Switch that I got for $68 as it was a showroom model that had a few scratches which didn't bother me since I gutted the inside. I spent about $100 on aluminum to house the psu's on the bottom and that rack supports the tower, along with the aluminum to make the sliding racks of each set of 8 bitburners.

32 Bitburners with 3 1250w XFX Gold Psu's and this setup gets around 250 gh/s on average (varies from 237-267). I have 3 more bitburners that will be in a small housing once I get them fixed. One of them keeps popping fuses instantly, and the other I can't update the firmware since it has a broken micro usb connector from shipment. The 3rd one is good to go now that I got the replacement capacitor among a few other parts I had to gut on one board to get the other damaged boards in shipment working.

I'm going to go with Option 1./ I have 2 boards on order, so amalgamating 70% of the value of both of these and adding some of the BTC from my chip refunds should get me something pretty good.

Not optimistic about the 5GH/s a chip, but we'll see..

Looking forward to seeing the new site live
