Your friend wasn't wrong theoretically. It is just very nature of bitcoin can't be tamed and you never know when price will go up and when bubble pop.
It was not a mistake you just entered the scene in a bad moment.
Yeah actually I never blame him, in otherwise I should thank him  Smiley  I just regret didn't get into bitcoin early, when its price was at around $1,000.

My biggest mistake was to trust some bullshit crypto company. Later they turned out to be not really that great and untrustworthy. All promises were lies.
But I learned that way that you could never trust bitcoin 3rd party service fully.
Most of them seems obviously as scammers, especially the new companies. The first thing they will do is gain your trust little by little, then if you fully believe, they will get your money.

I "invested" some BTC  into first GAWminers asics followed by GAWminers hashlets. About 20 BTC worth or $10-15k at the time.

1. Trusted BFL and Cointerra (I know, I deserved it)

2. Didn't buy more when I learned about it first Smiley

3. Wasted about 5 BTC on "cryptostocks"

What's the worst mistake you did with your Bitcoin? It can vary from starting to use Bitcoin to buying dumped Altcoin to gambling.

The worst mistake I made with Bitcoin is... Buying cloud mining hashrate. I bought 0.02 GH/s CEX.IO hash rate voucher at SEOClerk for $2 USD - or maybe $1 USD. I thought with 0.02 GH/s, I would be making a profit in half a year.. And I was wrong.

Well, I bought using the free five dollars coupon. So that does not count as making a mistake with Bitcoin. However, the slow profit lead me to buying hashing power from CEX.IO and later on.. ZeusHash using the Bitcoin I earned from signature campaign.. Again, I thought I would be making profit in a few months. Till today, I'm sure I have not make any profit from both the company yet. CEX.IO stopped their cloud mining operation and.. ZeusHash.. What do you think.?

Same for me. The big mistake i have been made was to buy cloud mining hashrate. With the first site I earned about 1 bitcoin but with the second I lost 1.2 bitcoin. First site was PB Mining and the second Cloudminr.io. This one pretend that was be hacked and will come back again but the hopes are few. It it will back maybe I will have my bitcoins and even earn. But this doesn't mean that I made a mistake participating on it. Even in the first. Bitcoins must be used for sure purposes because it's a sin use them in unsure ways.

I tired to buy "loaded" paper wallets on eBay...THAT is a bad idea.  I don't recommend ever trying that.  Long story short I filed charge backs, police reports, etc, and only because the scumbag deleted his ebay linked email account, then I got my money back when eBay asked me to contact him and I couldn't.

That and trying to buy ltc when it was at $4, only to have btc-e never get the money transfer.  Then I transferred in some btc a few days later when ltc hit $40 and traded btc for ltc.  That was a mistake!!

My worst mistake? I think it's pretty obvious.. gambling. I lost really much BTC on Primedice, Rollin.io, DaDice and LuckyB.it ( My favorite :3 ). I'm glad I learned how to stop with gambling and I won't start again. I wasn't addicted but I just wanted to take my loss back and with that in my mind I lost more, and more, and more... It was really high amount, at least for me and I don't want to talk about it anymore. But people, don't gamble.

Sound like you would be a rich bitcoiner if you did not gamble back then. Anyway, I'm sure if you continue earning Bitcoin from signature campaign, in a few months time you will be able to get back what you lose to those dice site. Just make sure you dont gamble away again.

waiting too much for selling some altcoin garbage like community coin and huntercoin(which i still find a good coins because it has a game inside), i waited so long that their price plummet heavily and they become worthless

then i understood that altcoin are scam to dump fast and forget

I have a similar mistake in pump-and-dump coin. Not waiting too long but can't wait to sell. Bought Arbcoin (not sure what's the name) during June when it's cheap. Sold for a small amount of profit - 1.5x or so. Whereas, if I wait for another ~24 hours I could 100x my Bitcoin on YoBit.Net.

I started with Bitcoin just to make profit. Didn't care about what it did or how it could change the financial system. If I realized that before, I would have kept my coins that I bought in early 2013 instead of selling them for a lame profit  Embarrassed

Gambling is for people so don't forbid people this. People just have to understand some rules and laws behind gambling. Gambling itself is not a crime or a mistake -
if you start betting you must be prepared that you can lose your money, if you are not prepared for that, or you're betting your last money - then it is a problem.
If you have clear set of rules and budget for your gambling needs every month.

mine is use it to buy some altercoin Cry

It's honestly a very easy thing.  The part that makes me sick on altcoins is knowing some I could have sold at profit.

Greed or optimism kept me holding on, thinking they would be worth more and more.

In the end of 2011, i heard about btc and silk road and i checked it out. It wasnt really my thing and i thought that btc is somehow related to this illegal site and i lost interest. I was convinced that this "currency/magic money" wont last after silk road ban. Mistake...  Undecided

First time when I heard about bitcoin, if I'm not mistaken it was like in 2012, and at that time I really didn't take it seriously. I was skeptical and my biggest mistake was probably I didn't take the time to really read about the technology and understands it. Had I did, a small investment would have  given me a sizeable amount of stash. But never mind, it's still not too late though.

My worst mistake is I didn't believe what my friend say about bitcoin, although he has shown me the profit he got at that time. I really regret about it and when finally I believed him, the price bitcoin was dropping.
