i think i have made all the mistakes possible so far except for investing in cloudminings.

i have gambled my bitcoins and lost and i have a little regret now but not going to stop Cheesy

i also have invested in a lot of altcoins which some of them lost their value and lead to big loses, but at the end of the day i am happy with my overall trade related profits.

and as for cloudmining i have never trusted any of them or any person except myself with my money so i was safe that way and never lost any bitcoin in cloudmining.
i have only bought GHs at cex.io back when they were working (before pause) and that was mostly because of GHs price rise so i guess that counts towards trading.

The worst mistake I did with bitcoin in terms of actual dollar value loss was probably trusting a scammer who pretended to be a very trustworthy borrower on a lending site.  I broke my normal lending rules and allocated too much BTC to this person even when I noticed he was taking out too much debt.  If you are going to lend money to someone on the other side of the world with BTC, then you should do the sort of investigation you would do on them if they robbed you well before they rob you to make sure you don't find suspicious details.  That will save you a lot of losses in lending.

Not buying when I thought I should buy some, had the money, but waited till I had my paycheck so I had a bit more reserve, it went to $1000 at the end of that month, that realy hurt  Cry

Did some small time gambling, lost more than I gained, but it was bits and most of them 'free'. So no big losses there that make me regret that, but learned my lesson cheap I should never ever go gamble with higher stakes.

But why the emphasis on the mistakes? I think all the good it did me has more value to me than the less fortunate events which are past and out of my hands anyways, no turning back, only the bright future of this economic revolution  Cool

I was looking for investments in 2012 and completely forgot that Bitcoin existed by then. I needed a national TV to remind me so I could put the pieces together.

Not buying some the first time I became aware of it in the $10s. It seemed too hard to purchase back then...it would have been worth the effort.

My biggest mistake was thinking I was a alt coin genius.   There is just a lot of unpredictable behavior in some alt coins.

I made good money on some, others I took a loss.  Needless to say I mainly stick with BTC these day's.  Just much more safe overall.

Ahh. That was one of the worst mistake I make other than cloud mining. I made a thread saying that I will update it once I make a profit (or maybe not) during June on YoBit.Net. The first week went good. Make some profit ~5%. The second week was bad.. I almost lose all my Bitcoin. So I stopped updating the thread. Wanted to start training on Bittrex but.. Afraid that I might make the same mistake again. Currently, I'm holding Bitcoin and some other Altcoin with good daily volume such as Hyper.

My worst mistake is I didn't believe what my friend say about bitcoin, although he has shown me the profit he got at that time. I really regret about it and when finally I believed him, the price bitcoin was dropping.

sending to the wrong btc address
what happened is i'll be sending BTC's to 4 different addresses and I just copied and paste the address to my wallet then send
after a day I received an email saying that they she did not received the BTC
when I checked the transaction id's I sent BTCs to an  address twice and left 1 with no BTC sent

Edited (27 May 2016): This thread was moved from Bitcoin Discussion to Off-topic by someone with the ability - not me.
I am not going to post in meta because I do not want trouble. Hopefully someone with a much higher position will look into this matter.

What's the worst mistake you did with your Bitcoin? It can vary from starting to use Bitcoin to buying dumped Altcoin to gambling.

The worst mistake I made with Bitcoin is... Buying cloud mining hashrate. I bought 0.02 GH/s CEX.IO hash rate voucher at SEOClerk for $2 USD - or maybe $1 USD. I thought with 0.02 GH/s, I would be making a profit in half a year.. And I was wrong.

Well, I bought using the free five dollars coupon. So that does not count as making a mistake with Bitcoin. However, the slow profit lead me to buying hashing power from CEX.IO and later on.. ZeusHash using the Bitcoin I earned from signature campaign.. Again, I thought I would be making profit in a few months. Till today, I'm sure I have not make any profit from both the company yet. CEX.IO stopped their cloud mining operation and.. ZeusHash.. What do you think.?

Edited (15 May 2016):

First edit since this thread was posted. Anyway, after reaching more than 100 pages (103 to be exact), today I will list down some common ones.

1. Gambling
2. Not knowing Bitcoin earlier.
3. Participating in HYIP & Wrong trading technique (both Altcoin and day trading).
4. Sending to wrong address & lost of wallet.
5. Cloud mining & scammed trade.
