Great news. I'm remembering NHZ, it was just Nxt clone, but they've got lots of people running nodes for rewards. I think it would make a lot of sense to reward the first batch of users who want to register a delegate. Later there most likely will be a competition between people who want to be a delegate, but at the very beginning you'd need to encourage people somehow.

Delegates get a share of the registration fees of all later delegates.  That's one reward.  We have been discussing that and many other ways of involving the community, and rewarding their support.

There are great things in the planning and programing stages.  So, hang in there.  It gets better.

We would like to show you previews of things we are working on but our ideas have already been copied by NXT and NODE prior to our official release.

As I mentioned previously, I brought it up in our meeting today and we took a vote. I think you will all be happy with the changes being made. We will update you all soon but in the meantime, don't register any more delegates if you are reading this!

I would appreciate it, and so will you IF YOU DONT REGISTER ANY MORE DELEGATES for the time being.

We are having an update scheduled for Friday.  I cannot give any more information, so dont ask........... PLEASE.

This is in response to the community and discussion in the foundation.

GreXX: "If we can push in our meeting to get the delegate registration fee down to 1k XCR (or less), then I would like to offer a few bounties for community members to try to drum up interest either in the Bitshares community or others. I would be willing to pay the registration fee for respected members of BTT to try out Crypti and register as a delegate. I would be willing to fund 10 or 20 registration fees at the lower rate for sure if it gets people in the door and reading about Crypti and looking at our Roadmap and see our dedication. We could use a little positive word of mouth around the threads."

I'd also pay fees for 10 delegates.

I would pay a 1K fee for 10 new delegates as well.

Wulf,

Your uptime is still 100%...... what are you using to host the delegate?

I'm using DigitalOcean. I've got probably the lowest-end droplet, but I'm running it on Ubuntu 14.04 (64-bit), on a New York Datacenter. Full details here : http://forum.crypti.me/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=27&p=85#p85

@Wulf

In regards to this, can you create a delegate thread at the official forums here: http://forum.crypti.me/viewforum.php?f=17 and maybe post some details on how you are hosting (i.e. datacenter location, hardware specifications, etc). Thanks!

Quick update, I've noticed a decline in Uptime in my node, so I made a few changes. I am now running Ubuntu VS instead of a Windows Server. I will give it a day and see how it affects the Uptime. If nothing changes I will move regions and start testing out the different regions offered by Amazon Web Services.

I have made a post in regards to the arguments about Starik69 and his delegate candidacy. I invite you all to join me in discussing the merits of both sides of the argument and whether or not he warrants votes on his official Delegate thread at the Official Crypti Forums here: http://forum.crypti.me/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13&p=78#p78

I would like to say while some people think that starik69 is troll, he always finds all the little bugs and bring light to all dark corners that others prefer to ignore.

Yes, its true...... the cockroaches show you where to clean.

Starik69 has had some posts that contributed to the community.  He has a delegate on standby status.  He has only 590000 votes.  half are mine.

He needs more votes.

Is there a way (API?) to see who voted for who? Huh
And today i see uptime numbers for some active delegates are not so good as it could be Cry
how starik69 expresses himself...
First of all english is not my native language. Second - i have (some odd?) sense of humor and can not write without sarcasm Grin

I have the same dry sense of humor....... can be hard to tone it down sometimes, especially when the issue is something you are passionate about.

As for your English....... In the US, we are not critical of how foreigners use the language, and actually find it cute and charming at times.  An american will never laugh at your misuse of the language.

100% agree that Americans are NOT critical of what non-native-English speakers say or how they say it.  We are mainly in awe that somebody wants to learn and use our language.

Americans as a group certainly don't work hard at all to learn anybody else's language, and I think that's a big problem.  We are isolated by two oceans, the longest border in the world that we share with another English speaking country, a love-hate relationship with Mexico and a whole lot of smugness.  I would be lost on the Internet without Google Translate and the auto translation feature in the Chrome browser.  I would be lost on world affairs without the British press (Telegraph, Guardian, Daily Mail, etc), The Economist, and the BBC.

And of course, www.zerohedge.com .  Everybody in the world should read Zero Hedge daily.  The comments in particular will do wonders for your dry sense of humor.

Yes, this is correct. These past 2 days I have been closely monitoring my delegate node and have seen it drop down from 100% towards 75%. For now I've switched forging from the virtual servers towards my home computer to try and pinpoint the problem. I'll be working on fixing this all day. I'm also currently running it on a Windows Server Instance, which could be causing some problems.

We have found that the closer the hosts to the internet backbone, the less the latency.

We started with delegates on hosts in Amsterdam, which resulted in low % for the stasDelegates.

Matt moved his to servers near the Google servers in Georgia.  He is on the 90s now.

The 10s blocks are just not home computer connection friendly.

My node is also hosted in Amsterdam, though in a datacenter, not on a home connection, and has not missed a block yet.
Amsterdam is a very central place in internet infrastucture.

EDIT: a single block was missed, yeah i dont know :s

PM Eric (samsmith16) at https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/samsmith16-303285 and he can help you set up a $5 a month hosted delegate like mine.

Today is the staff meeting..... an API to see the delegate votes and the node votes is in the discussion list.

Uptimes are not ideal....... we are learning much this way.  The uptime is never reset, so runs from the beginning of a delegates entry into the 101 Club.  My delegate, Litoshi, was running on a home computer with a DSL connection, and had really bad latency and thus low forging %.  Then we switched to a hosted server, but it was down for 12 hrs.  That really lowered my % up time.  Now i am hitting 100% of all blocks, but it will take months of 100% to raise my low of 25% to the 90 area.

Two of the newest nodes had latency problems when they were first graduated to the 101 Club.  We watched the delegates go from 100 to 33 to 25 and then up to the 50s.  They seem to have settled in the 75% area, but again, t will take lots of 100% to bring it to the 90s.

I have the same dry sense of humor....... can be hard to tone it down sometimes, especially when the issue is something you are passionate about.

As for your English....... In the US, we are not critical of how foreigners use the language, and actually find it cute and charming at times.  An american will never laugh at your misuse of the language.  Other cultures are not so forgiving.  BTW, "english" is a language in transition to a new language, due to the exposure to the international community and the incorporation of new foreign words, news speak, and acronym usage (CPU, GPU, MPH, DSL).  The new language that is forming from this melding is called TERRAN.
