To commodify ethicality is to ethicise the market
Man.....I feel the need to keep buying up XC.  I ran out of BTC this morning (officially), and I've been wondering for the last few hours what I should do.  I'm thinking about decreasing a long-term hold by 50%, to put into XC.  I hate to say it, but since I've started accumilating XC, my other long-term crypto assets just haven't looked the same.  They feel very expendable.

see it as a flight to quality.

im in same boat as you, didn't think i would get to buy more at 148. The current prices are silly.

Nice. I'd say do it. Prices are at the low point of the ascending trendline. Best time ever.

I would only worry about the low MP volume if i worked there, lets face it, people lost a lot of trust in them. withdraw a lot of coins & started trading elsewhere. Personal see no link with XC

mintpal is were the most xc's are traded
it is 10x more than bittrex (wich is second)

source: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/volume/24-hour/#xcurrency

Do you have historical data, eg mp volume last month?

I guess you can find that here:
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/xcbtc
choose 1 day interval
in settings set volume currency in (quote)BTC

You have answered your own question m8. Let me suggest, if 50% is the threshold for you, if I suggest you do 20 or 40% conversion, it wouldn't hurt you the least, by your standards!

They probably bought in on a competitor coin and accumulated much more than they have in XC, however they still hold a substancial amount of XC. XC's price may severely limit their profit margin if they were to buy back in and accumulate more ATM. Because they probably acquired the competitor's coin for next to nothing, they will do everything they can to keep XC's price low which may divert more investors to their coin and increase the potential for profit

+1. This is a solid rationale. Important that it doesn't necessitate a competitor either.

Let's help the ol' dumper out by giving him some nice solid support. There's no better way to get drain his funds, get cheap coins, and remove obstacles to the inevitable ascent of XC.

Well, the way I see is that almost all of the alts saw a decent 10% decline on average in the last 2 days. My guess would be that there is an upcoming BTC breakout on the way above the 654 resistance area and as trends dictate, they will be hopping on the BTC train for quick profit.

That would be sweet.

Thing is, holding XC effectively means holding BTC since BTC will be mostly traded against USD and CNY. So by holding XC we all stand to profit from BTC's upcoming bubble.
Agreed. The only thing that worries me is the lack of volume on Mintpal since the VeriCoin attack. But, let's hope, traders attract more traders like virus comes to fruition soon enough.

Btw I think Teka needs to fix the new content problem in forum asap, it is a serious deterrent in using the forum :/

Good work sir!

Was just thinking actually, there's probably quite a lot of news that has come out that should really be posted to that reddit. last thing I posted was the video and that got a lot of discussion going, but im sure we've had updated wallets and various things since then.. ?

Yeah. True. You're very welcome to post a bunch of stuff.

In fact, it would be better coming from a community member than from the XC PR guy.

Would you be up for it?

Yeah no probs. I wont spam the front page with it all now but I'll try to keep XC near the top to some degree, and certainly share all the future announcements. Smiley

Thanks G-bert. Superb.
