Is replacing the executables (Windows) the only requirement? Is blockchain resync required?

If you have previously downloaded or synced a blockchain, the updated version will use your existing blockchain and catch up from there if possible. If not possible (unlikely) it will tell you and you will have to download a new one.

Looks like I am good then. Thanks.

Ok, all binaries updated, this is a mandatory update to 0.8.8.3 -

››› Windows 64-bitOS XLinux •  Source code ‹‹‹

SHA sums for each download:

monero.win.x64.latest.zip - 7b89c14891cab57aa292d3826227c99bd2c8e203
monero.mac.x64.latest.tar.bz2 - 10854bbc549de5eff6609e102a8f778d6e99af29
monero.linux.x64.latest.tar.bz2 - a55945606238ce28f03079691619ae11ca18efc7

Please be advised that after releasing binaries we bump the build number up on github on the staging repo, so if you're building from github you will end up on 0.8.8.4.

smooth's Monero quick-start bundle for new installs (Windows 64 bit, Mac, Linux 64-bit)

Easy one-step download for new installs via BitTorrent containing the current version of the application (0.8.8.3) and the blockchain as of 2014-09-07!

For updates download the application from the original post. To update you don't normally need a new blockchain.

This is an unofficial bundle and unofficial service. Blame only me.

RentaMouse, you are right, i just switched TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service  &  allowed to share the folder Bitmonero. Now sync work with --log-level 2 wery well & i even sometimes don't have time to see the incoming data stream! RentaMouse, you're my hero, yep! Thank you very much!    Wink
I tired and exhausted so much. I go to bed.
Thank you all that were patient to my posts here.

I verified the SHA-1 for both of these files - the same!

What command options are you using to launch bitmonerod?
RentaMouse, I just launch bitmonerod.exe. What's wrong?
Quote
Tried running bitmonerod.exe from a "Run as Admin" command prompt?
I'm Admin of this PC & have all rights... I've done the same before, it worked.

If you're just running bitmonerod.exe with no extra options then that's fine.

If its Windows 7 or 8 then just being admin of the PC may not be sufficient, you still have to right-click bitmonerod.exe and select "Run as administrator" for it to actually have admin rights too.

I appreciate it doesnt make much sense if it just worked before but then this is a newer version of the bitmonerod.exe so maybe something has changed.

searched the last few days of posts, but could not find anything, but anyone else having problems with Extremehash payouts?
I currently have 20+ monero there waiting to be paid out. all confirmed.

Really you should try asking on #monero-pools on IRC, or emailing the pool admin, but I've heard a couple of other people say they havent been paid for the last couple of days. I think they may have frozen payouts after the network attack, but they should be able to re-enable them by now.

I assume you updated your Monero application to the current release from yesterday? Assuming you have done that you will need to get in touch with extremehash about any payment issues.

Aaxx - What command options are you using to launch bitmonerod?

I'm wondering if you still have several exclusive nodes set and that is confusing it, I know you said you tried it without earlier but the peer IPs looked familiar in the log...

EDIT: Looking at it some more, I dont think that's the problem if its freezing at that point in the log because we can see it has connected to peers and requested blockchain data. I thought RAM shortage too, but sounds like you have plenty, and you say its not antivirus software either. Is it possible you have strange permissions on your appdata folder and it can't create a new poolstate.bin file or something? Tried running bitmonerod.exe from a "Run as Admin" command prompt?

I try to sync with & without 2 files - simpleminer.exe & connectivity_tool.exe -the same result...
I delete OLD files: p2pstate.bin, poolstate.bin & myXMR.bin before starting the daemon.

Smooth's Monero Windows 64-bit quick-start bundle downloading little by little.Speed don't exceeds 2 Mbps...  Sad
I hope it isn't the same as 2 files on OP...

It is exactly the same. If you already downloaded from OP you are wasting your time.

I don't know what it does mean "relevant portion" BUT anyway
this is WHOLE my bitmonerod.log
http://pastebin.com/uu922LDN

It looks like you are not syncing at all. The only blocks you have are the ones that get read in from the file. As soon as it is about to sync, that's where your log file ends, and presumably that is where you are stuck. I don't know why this would happen, but perhaps someone else has an idea.

Firewall?

I'm guessing not because he is able to connect to the peer and exchange a few messages, but once it is about to start syncing, it stops.

smooth, It looks like bitmonerod freezed after the third second flight! Game over!  Cry

There has to be more in your log file. Put the past 5-10 pages on pastebin and post the link.
