[...] Monero is most fundamental coin to the day. Not only it is strictly anonymous, it has double-spend proof even in case 51% attack. [...]

That's new to me. Is this true? How is that supposed to work?
Man you know this coin has got to be good.  Just read the whitepaper!  Then read through the entire thread.  Much more educated than many on Bitcointalk..

You can still doublespend with a 51% attack, nothing has changed about that attack vector

Guys can anyone please help me?

cant sync my daemon..its been 48 hours since it worked..

Unable to connect to seed peers means you have a firewall issue going on, looks like you are on Windows - when you first ran Bitmonerod.exe did Windows Firewall ask about network access? If you didnt allow access, or you have another security app blocking its Internet access then you need to change it. If its not being blocked on your PC then it will be your Internet connection, domestic routers are usually fine but some corporate firewalls and public/shared wifi hotspots can block traffic for example.

This thread is my last hope, as all my attemps to install wallet and miner in lubuntu 14.04 failed.

This are the errors I got:

I would be very glad to find help here, but have to say that my knowledge in Linux is pretty limited.

It shouldnt be too hard on Ubuntu 14.04, have you been following the instructions or using the install script from http://monero.cc/getting-started/index.html ?

I havent bothered to put the foreign bits through translator, but at a guess you might just need to try "sudo make"

This is pretty much the manifestation of my concerns in one post. XMR needs to be so easy to use that we no longer need to watch this forum for help from people trying to do basic things like store their money in a wallet or transfer it. The faster Monero reaches that level of one click usability, the more likely it will be that it succeeds.

Keep your eyes open, fellas.
I am an investor who has bought heavily into xmr.
I asked a question in this thread, and didn't get an answer.
You guys have to be on the alert for the opportunity to reach out to people like me.
I asked a question that was so simple it was apparently worth ignoring in the high level discussion going on here.
If I can't get up to speed on the wallet I then must choose between leaving my holdings on an exchange into the indeterminate future or dumping, which is bad for me and bad for everybody else.
Please make monero useful to people who know less than you do.  It shouldn't be beneath you to give a beginner a helping hand.

Thank you, Mumbles, for voicing these constructive concerns.  In my experience the core devs are quite diligent in monitoring these matters, and prioritize them carefully.  You can be assured that the software is progressing well, and the foundations for ease of use are already coming together, although the end applications will take a long time to achieve their full potential.  iPod usability is not something that just falls from the sky.  There is a lot of carefully managed complexity under the veneer of exquisitely designed usability.  I think that in XMR, so much is at stake that the happy end-point is quite sufficiently motivated.  You can have confidence that it will arrive, although perhaps not as quickly as you would like. Do please contribute your own efforts and other forms of support, including constructive criticism, on an ongoing basis!

did your question get answered? is your problem solved?

This is who we are.
@username, rather than some superlong string of alphanumeric characters.
Landrush anyone? Cybersquatting, now playing in an alias near you.

It's not really a landrush if you have to solo a block, unless you're cbuchner1 you're probably not gonna be soloing a shitload of blocks. And if you want to call it a shit feature, that's up to you, I'm sure you've innovated many new features yourself that are far superior.
Si my name is David Ford. Say there is another David Ford mining BBR. I'm sure you see where I am heading.

we can't all be [email protected], but it seems to working out ok for them...

Will David Ford be my Friend.. I only want exclusive friends man haha

one neat feature is the aliasing. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you have to solo a block to create an alias, but once you do, you can have people send their coins to @username, rather than some superlong string of alphanumeric characters.

This is reference example of as I say 'shit-feature'. Just look at vericoin, how many shit features it has, especially their version of
'anonimity'. Smiley

We also have other stuff that needs testing

What is the best place to report on testing, specifically and especially problems observed?

To incentivize testing, there should be a bounty pool for bug reports, based on severity of the problem, closed to developers and their associates.  but the reporting channel should be closed, private, to avoid the possibility of exploits coming from that channel.

For now, raise an issue in the github where you find them (or query those branch authors and tell them to allow issue reporting if it's not enabled).

Part of the current money received to the donation address should be allowed to rewarding bugfinding and bugfixing, I agree.

In general, I agree with your comment, but on this point I must differ.  There are some interesting and useful features in bbr, and crypto_zoidberg is a top-notch developer.  I don't see a need to own any bbr, but I think it's a cool project, and can see why someone might want to participate in it more than I do, on that basis.  Anyhow, there are better threads for discussing other coins.

Can you describe shortly that interesting features of boolberry? I looked at their thread, and found nothing interesting.

But Tacotime said interesting thing - there are lot of bugs inherited from so-called "reference" cryptonote coin source - bytecoin.
And to fix that bugs - that is fundamental goal on this stage of cryptonote, not other insteresting features. To verify cryptonote white paper, and proof it - that is the goal on this stage.

Do you agree?

That boolberry top-notch developer to join Monero team? Wink

1000 blocks downloaded, 103k to go  Lips sealed
If this does not get the thing to work, I DON'T care if it would be even a golden coin.
Dev team should think about it BEFORE they even started publishing anything.
And if dev team fails - success is equal to zero.

as was already explained, the software is in alpha

your posts sound like you feel you're entitled to something...
