Hello guys,

i've set up a full node and everything seems to work fine (90+ connections) except one strange message :

Code:
WARNING: no two valid MoneroPulse DNS checkpoint records were received

Ubuntu 14.04 x64

Any ideas?

Are you running 0.9.1?

I got the same warning when I updated from 0.9 to 0.9.1 and basically was told to ignore it as it would right itself which it did.

If you want details somebody will probably oblige.

Drop worksize to 8 - should help just a little bit!

In the meawhile I looked at your config and did it. Now with worksise 8 I am getting ~ 770H/s

Code:
[18:46:19] Share accepted: 7/7 (100.00%)
[18:46:19] Total Hashrate: 772.70H/s

I am getting around 750H/s with defaults not changed in xmr.conf  "rawintensity": 1336, "worksize": 16 etc.

R9 290x Windows 10, driver AMD-Catalyst-15.7.1-Win10-64bit. Card is also on its default settings GPU Clock 1030 MHz Mem Clock 1250MHz.

This miner gives me 2 degrees lower temperature than Claymore's miner. Claymore's miner in comparison shows varied speed on its default settings from 720H/s to 780H/s.

Ah, and now with Wolf's miner driver not crashes when closing miner window Smiley

Claymore still has upper hand.

270x
wolf-xmr-miner-0.3b 360H/s
claymore 420H/s

Keep in mind clocks in my config file ARE NOT SET - you need to use an external application. Same with powertune and fanspeeds.

Additionally - driver version, rawintensity, and worksize?

catalyst 15.7.1
clocks 1105/1475
rawintensity 672
worksize 12

Yeah, worksize is usually best a power of two, or at LEAST a multiple of 8. Try 768 rI and 8 ws.

Anything over 672 gives me error.

hi i'm new to this. How do I get the xmr.conf file to work with 2 cards? I can only get it to run with one for some reason no matter how i try and add another GPU id "1"?  thanks!

edit - is this even the right thread? Tongue

New updates to the open source XMR miner, reaching over 800H/s on 290X in some configs; they can be found at my github; I'll probably be making Windows binaries shortly

Great news! I am looking forward for windows binaries to try.

Here they are (also on Github and posted on Reddit):

https://ottrbutt.com/miner/downloads/wolf-xmr-miner/v0.3b/wolf-xmr-miner-0.3b.zip.sig

Great news! People that mine on AMD, can we see some screenshots and let us know about stability etc. It'd be great to put together a how-to for the total noobs. Now that we're at claymore equivalence (I think), this should probably be the one people end up using...

@GingerAle, Thanks for the direction and motivation you provide.

Time to update your "<<>"  link in your signature Smiley

same sort of fork happened to shadowcash when they implemented adam back's ring signature improvements. interesting.

It is a clear risk any time you have different implementations on the network, as during an upgrade process. If the same implementation forked against itself (also possible, but not what happened with Monero) that is different sort of bug. I don't know which happened in SDC.

Seems like the malicious fork did no damage to the hashrate / network -> http://monero.net/xmr_network.html

No it is not going to go in before the next fork. It would need a fork to support the new signature method.

Just to reiterate - the idea is to code-freeze 7 months before the hard fork. This time we didn't code freeze as timeously as we would have liked, but even if you grabbed the code from like October you'd still be fine till after the March fork. Even the malicious fork from Friday wouldn't have affected you, as long as you gave it a few days for the fork to resolve.

More like a few hours even due to the hard work of the real developers. I was helping by drinking whiskey.

New build of Wolf miner on Win10 using a 270 and 7950 with stock clocks (1080/1400 and 925/1250, respectively):
Code:
[12:36:06] Share accepted: 9/9 (100.00%)
[12:36:06] Total Hashrate: 759.68H/s
[12:36:07] Thread 1, GPU ID 1, GPU Type: Tahiti: 411.24H/s
[12:36:08] Thread 0, GPU ID 0, GPU Type: Pitcairn: 347.20H/s
[12:36:09] Thread 1, GPU ID 1, GPU Type: Tahiti: 406.03H/s
[12:36:12] Thread 1, GPU ID 1, GPU Type: Tahiti: 411.58H/s
[12:36:12] Thread 0, GPU ID 0, GPU Type: Pitcairn: 348.14H/s

Total hashrate with Claymore version:
Code:
Speed: 837 h/s, TotalHashes: 133K, DevHashes: 2K Mining time: 00:02

So, ~10% lower hashrate with Wolf's new version.

Is that the unreleased one he's waiting to release? It's gotta be.

It seems like Shen is going full steam ahead! Some updates regarding Ring Confidential Transactions for Monero:
....

I'm curious...

Let's pretend Shen completes RingCT at the end of next week...Semi-production or something like a RC.

Would this be code that we could expect to be implemented in a point release?  Could we see it go live before the hard fork?  Or would this be post-hard-fork and pre-the-next-hard-fork?
