Just in case people haven’t seen this yet, Theymos just added grin for acceptable payments towards copper memberships, donations, etc. on the forum:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/grin-is-now-accepted-for-forum-payments-5098450

Lots of trust in a coin that is a couple days old... lol.

In the past hacks and exit scams have sometimes had an effect on the XMR price.

https://www.coindesk.com/new-zealand-crypto-exchange-cryptopia-goes-offline-citing-major-hack

Big mistake for the 'hackers' *wink wink* not going for XMR to move their loot around.  Now they got some of it, prolly most, locked at Binance.

SHUM, LOL

I'm surprised it took them this long to exit scam.

Anyone care to discuss even a single particular type of voodoo they've used throughout the years to determine exactly how loud the crickets are getting?

I think one of the ones I always liked was navigating to bitcointalk's altcoin section and, at various times of the day, observing exactly how deep the number of posts that show up as the last post having been 'TODAY', was always one of my old favorites.

I think it possibly has a bit less significance now than say 2014 being that there are many other increasingly popular avenues of collaboration, but still that one's definitely within my top ten favorite voodoo's.

Like now, there are 8 topics extending into the second page of the altcoin speculation section .. whereas during peak frenzy mode there have been well over 15 pages worth of posts indicating that 'TODAY' was the last post.

Is there a way to automize gathering these voodoo metrics, drawing a graph? For comparisons along other market metrics like trade volume.

Tracking twitter activity has been another one, but that got gamed pretty easily by the usual parties.

thanks, I forgot there was a third.

I would like to see a rebuttal as the guy who wrote that also says he has written what we are looking for already although when I read that info (I think it's called loki) I saw one gapping attack vector but I'll not mention that unless we are considering using it.

Something called LLARP?
There's also Sekreta.
Bunch of random letters and syllables to me.

I think we need a consensus from the Devs on what they think on this subject.

I personally would like to hear @Smooth thoughts on this.

Honestly I am staying the hell away from the Kovri drama. I've been wary of it for quite some time.

That is not meant as a comment either way about whether any action should or should not be taken. It is simply my position that until required by some sense of governance (such as the core team being called upon to weigh in on whether FFS milestones have been met), I will exercise my prerogative as an unpaid volunteer to not get involved with it and to work for a better Monero and a better world in other ways.

Pretty shaky start of the year.  First Fortnite, then Kovri drama, then Fortnite denial and now 1% supply ransom. If this year will continue like this, my hearth might not make it to the end. Sad

Oh and what I would add to the kidnapping thingy: Privacy is the first pillar of security. If these criminals would not know she is a multimillionaire they would never kidnapped her.

Whoa whoa whoa...  What?!  Nothing bad seems to be announced in here or I may have missed them.  Care to share more info on the 'Kovri drama' and the 'Forthnite denial'?

They did seem they got warned off "crypto" by some government goons. The press blew it up too huge the scrutiny came down supposedly.

Its all small steps in the right direction.

^  Noice.  Thanks for adding XMR...  And with no KYC required.

Fortnite is sort of the most popular game of 2018. And their souvenirs store, not the actual game, used GloBee payment platform where you could buy things with Monero. Few days latter they decided that their costumers are to young for Monero. Tongue

Kovri developer hopes that part of founds that were reserved for kovri gets transferred in his new project named Sekreta.

Wow that sucks.  It's like you're cumming and the chick decided to pull out and leave you with a bad ejacuation.  Lololol.

But the Kovri developer is still pushing thru...?

FreeBitcoins.com has added XMR to our faucet!  (Get .00005 XMR every 5 minutes)

We are adding XMR to our "Swap" exchange as well (1/14/2019).  This will allow users to buy/sell XMR without creating an account.  We do not KYC.

Guess the yellow vests aren't buying Monero with their withdrawn fiat, and the Norwegian billionaire doesn't want his wife back
No way someone would buy e10MM from an exchange.  This would be an OTC trade.

Perhaps Aminorex is interested in some piece of exotic art. Wink

Having come to see what he is currently implementing is not good enough. Sounds sensible to me to be considered. I like he at least comes with positive suggestions.

Usually problem is that you dont run the latest wallets and you send on old chain, so your Monero never left your wallet. Get new wallet here: https://ww.getmonero.org/downloads/ Current Version: 0.13.0.4 Beryllium Bullet
