Guess the yellow vests aren't buying Monero with their withdrawn fiat, and the Norwegian billionaire doesn't want his wife back
These protesters in France are more of the hands-on experience, prefering tangible values. Paper bills, and gold.
This hijacking case makes a poor excuse for short timed pump'n'dumps.

I'm reading the comments there, I felt really bad for the man and wife.
Entire 1 of total market cap of Monero is the ransom? LMAO that's a lot of money.

But, XMR is at fault the same way cash, gold, diamonds, cars, houses used for hideouts, radios, cell phones, etc etc would be...  It's just a tool...  and if you think about it, it is an inevitable tool.
And those who don't understand Monero, privacy coins or entire cryptocurrency will say that its only used for situations like this.

The kidnapping news is the type of thing we have known would happen from the beginning...  This will not likely be the only time.

How governments and markets respond to this is what we have to learn from.

Sorry for the man and his wife.  It is a terrible situation.  But, XMR is at fault the same way cash, gold, diamonds, cars, houses used for hideouts, radios, cell phones, etc etc would be...  It's just a tool...  and if you think about it, it is an inevitable tool.

- still bullish Febo?

We should always be bullish on privacy. You see here: https://www.coindesk.com/security-researchers-break-ledger-wallets-with-simple-antennae   More information's attacker have easier will get your coins. No information's attacker have. Your coins are perfectly safe.

Pretty shaky start of the year.  First Fortnite, then Kovri drama, then Fortnite denial and now 1% supply ransom. If this year will continue like this, my hearth might not make it to the end. Sad

Oh and what I would add to the kidnapping thingy: Privacy is the first pillar of security. If these criminals would not know she is a multimillionaire they would never kidnapped her.

1% supply ransom?
kidnapped her?

Found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/ae4keu/kidnappers_demand_monero_ransom_for_wife_of_one/

What's that about?

Starting to slowly feel like we may have bottomed.

Which shouldn't be any kind of celebration at -90 fucking %.

Anyway, I'm bullish on Monero for obvious reasons. If any crypto other than BTC is successful, IMO it should be Monero.

I would hope to see 100usd by year end, with ATH reached by 2021.

I'm mostly holding but also have a bot syphoning a little off the whales as the price grows and shrinks

Are you sure it's the whales you're syphoning from?

whales are the only thing that moves the price of any cryptocurrency. These markets are razor thin in comparison to actual markets.

I am a long term supporter of xmr - but the market manipulation on poloniex is sick.

Always been like that long before Circle was involved, kinda disappointing.

And it's not just poloniex. Nothing is new when it comes to so called manipulation of prices by the whales and other big institutions. So the best way here is to study in order to join the waves or to hodl a great coin.

Actually, Fortnite’s brief foray into crypto was accidental. We worked with a partner to open a merchandise store, and somewhere along the way Monero payment was enabled.

Just how popular is Fortnight...?  As popular as say, Dota?

I wonder who from within the Fortnight gaming company is the Monterean.  Would be cool to have XMR logos in game.  Lol.
