Sorry for the man and his wife. It is a terrible situation. But, XMR is at fault the same way cash, gold, diamonds, cars, houses used for hideouts, radios, cell phones, etc etc would be... It's just a tool... and if you think about it, it is an inevitable tool.

Pretty shaky start of the year. First Fortnite, then Kovri drama, then Fortnite denial and now 1% supply ransom. If this year will continue like this, my hearth might not make it to the end.

Anyway, I'm bullish on Monero for obvious reasons. If any crypto other than BTC is successful, IMO it should be Monero.
I would hope to see 100usd by year end, with ATH reached by 2021.

whales are the only thing that moves the price of any cryptocurrency. These markets are razor thin in comparison to actual markets.

I am a long term supporter of xmr - but the market manipulation on poloniex is sick.
Always been like that long before Circle was involved, kinda disappointing.
And it's not just poloniex. Nothing is new when it comes to so called manipulation of prices by the whales and other big institutions. So the best way here is to study in order to join the waves or to hodl a great coin.

It's not stupid to consider stocking up over the next few weeks and scalping some profits, or extra coins - depending on your preference.
Personally for me, it's extra coins, but each to their own, eh?
