That is the sudden surge of XRP. I was quite surprised when I opened the CMC and found XRP passed ETH but nothing is definitely better here because ICO people still run on the Ethereum platform.
I don't think xrp is a better coin than ethereum besides they have a different purpose. XRP is defending the centralization this is the reason they are getting this much of investment.
It seems to me that both coins are worthy. But we must choose the right time to invest in each of them. Now ETH is rapidly going up.

Comparison between ripple and Ethereum is so much irrelevant. They have their own project and they are very different from each other. XRP is a payment based protocol based on blockchain. Txe XRP is connected with banks. In other hand ethereum is a platform based token and it is the most used platform based token. Till now. And the whole ico market or 80% of all icos are based on ethereum. So they both are very popular and working project. But they have nothing to compare. And you can compare them through position according marketcap and growth. For a long time ethereum was in 2nd position and and xrp is in 3rd position but few days back back they changed position. That's it.

I think Ethereum is still better than Ripple, because I am sure that soon Ethereum will return to its original position and defeat Ripple (position 2 in coinmarketcap), so in my opinion until now the best is Ethereum rather than Ripple, therefore I invested all the money I had in Ethereum, because I'm sure the price of Ethereum will increase in the near future and give me profit.
As I remember such topics always exist on the forum. Before say who is better we need to define criteria. But what parameters can help us to understand who better? I don't think something. Net performance for XRP now is better than ETH. But with Raiden ETH will lead without any doubt. And in this case adoption and dApps can make our choice

Ripple is a coin that is quite clever in its ability to maintain its rank even though crypto conditions are deteriorating. But that growth was not accompanied by crypto's popularity which also increased. So that the ripple community cannot produce a large number of customers. The price is really not matters to pick the top coins,only the rankings in the coinmarket cap based on the market cap values so if you want to pick the best of any coin then it should be based on the usage of it.
if it's a matter of price, now XRP is indeed better than ethereum, but if it's about technology and platforms, then I think ethereum is still better than XRP and therefore, ethereum will be able to regain its ranking in the crypto market, especially when ethereum will experience hardfork which might just return ethereum to a high price

At this present situation, XRP looks better than ETH because XRP is the top place in the coinmarketcap. Personally, I like ETH because it has decent technology and potential even it has a huge price in the market.

I think it is crazy that comparisation between XRP and ETH. This both are not same thing. We shouldn't compare two different things. Like a car and televison.
