we don't know, maybe the ripple is only in second place for a while, or it lasts a long time replacing ethereum in second place, in my opinion, ripple and ethereum are just as good

In as much as xrp have taken over etherum in terms of volume but that does not make xrp any better and one question I keep asking about the xrp is where is its utility? What's it xrp been used for? For about the trading volumes let's look at their real use case.

As of now, I can say xrp is better than eth. But what we have seen on eth is that it is dropping in price so it does testify that xrp is almost stagnant in couple of months. So differentiating these two coins is not a big deal on crypto world because they have different usage.

You're misjudging the role of the table. Ethereum is no worse, and even Vice versa to some extent. These are completely different cryptocurrencies, and you should not compare them. I keep them both in my wallet, but I have a special attitude towards Ethereum and expectations.

These two have the hottest competition these 4th quarter of the year but I will always give my vote to Ethereum. Ripple is centralized and controlled by the bank so I will not be surprised why these altcoins receiving criticism on thousand of investors. Both of them are good to invest with and for long term Hodl so there no need to choose actually. It is always advisable to not to put your eggs in one basket but invest smarter and not just because of speculations.

actually I prefer ethereum as a much easier and wider platform, but if we talk about usability and convenience of transactions, the ripple is much better, ripple also proves they are better prepared to face market pressure

No cryptocurrency I think is better than one another. Their market value and standing is really based on the people who is using it and trying their best to put the market value of XRP to the top. Also, listing to a new exchange affects its widely since many investors are attracted to it.

Just because XRP is no 2 doesn't mean that it is better . As i always say that XRP and ETH can't be compared because they don't solve the same issues. As for the ranking, i don't think it will last for long.

How are you quantifying "better"?

They are different coins with very different purposes - both can be (and are) good at what they do to a certain extent. Is XRP a better currency that ETH within the Ethereum ecosystem for executing smart contracts? Is ETH a better means of sourcing and moving liquidity on demand within the banking sector?

in my opinion, i think that eth is better than xrp because eth is the most adopted protocol out there and vitalik and team is working really hard to implement something better on the ethereum platform on 2020 which is called the ethereum serenity which also moved the eth protocol into pos from pow to be more efficient. And xrp on The other hand really does not needed in able for the ripple to operate. in my own opinion only. DYOR

I feel ETH is no longer a big choice after Bitcoin now. Which Ripple is the subtle choice when traders choose it a lot to invest.Ripple is actually better than ETH at this time when XRP stands the second position.

Tell me exactly what does better mean. Is XRP used more than ETH? No. Is XRP less centralized than ETH? Absolutely not. Is XRP more transparent than ETH? Also no.

Do we have XRP developers discussing and engaging with community? Not as much as Ethereum.

So how can it be better? Because it lost less value? Because it is now higher ranked in market cap than ETH?

because it is a real business. That is the real value of XRP and it will not easily be manipulated value. Sometimes the true value of XRP is higher than the BTC. Because XRP has 6 cooperative banks to create, so its value is real. Bitcoin does not have a founder, it is manipulated and we can not know what the real value is.
