That is great that someone has found a block on this pool! I pointed one S1 to this pool and will do more soon.

Three testnet blocks solved today by n2U7mXV4HFumkKLt7jz8LhNqKHMszTP39c on http://testnet.ckpool.org .  I don't plan to post these regularly but it's just to remind people that the service exists and how the technology works.

They may not be worth anything, but they're a good test platform for people to see what it's like to solve a block or test their mining equipment.  Wink

Yeah, that's why I donated to both ckpool and cgminer. Have been using cgminer on and off for more than a year now and I believe in supporting these kinds of projects. If I use the software and like it then I should donate to support the developers. Actually, I should have donated earlier (maybe not this much Wink) but somehow never did.

Mine at Jonny's Pool
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to rent 6.25 TH on betarigs for 3 days (well actually 5 TH for 3 days and 1.25 TH for 2 days; total cost 0.48 BTC) and directed it to CKPOOL. Purely as a gamble and it paid off within a day  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Thanks Ck for setting up this pool.

EDIT
CK, I would like to send you a donation (besides the 0.5% you already got) for the work you have done on ckpool and cgminer once I can spend the btc. Should I sent it to 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ from the OP?

That was a hell of a nice payout on your gamble!  Congratulations on solving the first block on ckpool as a "regular" miner!  Also, awesome job donating some of it right back to ckolivas.  He and kano have dedicated a ton of their time and effort over the years developing the software so many take for granted.

Yup, pretty expensive but I got refunded 5.3 BTC saturday from the dicebitco.in debacle which I didn't count on so I thought why not take a chance with 10% of it. Figured that 6.25 TH had a much better chance to find a block than my own 1 GH Wink. I'll send the donation to 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ once the block matures.
Very generous donation received, thank you.

Dear "Trademan1", you cannot authorise on this pool with a username like that. You MUST use a valid bitcoin address as your username. The pool will continue to reject your attempts to mine here as you would otherwise end up mining for someone else if I didn't reject you.

Anybody know where the pickaxe picture in multibit came from? It looks a lot like the diamond pickaxe in minecraft.

Firstly, congratulations!

Second, holy crap that rental rig was fucking expensive. That was some serious gambling there!

Third, sure, send it to the same address or the address in the cgminer readme. I like to keep track of what people are contributing for.

Finally, enjoy your reward! And make sure not to gamble it all away  Wink

CONGRATULATIONS!

The first regular miner on this pool has solved a block!
https://blockchain.info/block-index/465383

And it appears the miner was running a bit over 6TH. While that is possibly the largest current regular miner on solo pool, the 24.98354801 BTC they earned is so much more than they would have earned mining with 6TH in that hardware's lifetime!

Do you support testnet?
No I don't but I could easily set one up on a separate VPS. However these servers do have running costs and there's not much in the way of incentive with running a testnet pool is there?

No:) Just asking.

Since you asked...

http://testnet.ckpool.org

Now offering testnet mining on its own node for people wishing to test their configuration only or for hardware development testing!

Note that you must be using a testnet bitcoin address to be able to mine on this edition.

If you find this additional service useful, please consider a donation to the author since there are no fees to be gained from running this pool.

Lightweight C based pool software, and open source! I'm really excited about this project and interested to see where it's going. Great work!
Thanks. While I've made the link to the source publicly available from this thread, I have not yet made a public announcement or a "release" version for the software, but that will be coming soon, now that the first of the comprehensive mining pool options with ckpool at their core are starting to come online.

To the person trying to mine with an asicminer tube on this pool, the tubes have a broken stratum implementation and will not work on the regular pool, but there is a special instance for these devices alone on solo.ckpool.org:3334

Statistics:
To access this, enter your BTC address at the end of: http://solo.ckpool.org/users/

I entered my wallet address at the end of this URL and all I get is:
{"hashrate1m": "0", "hashrate5m": "0", "hashrate1hr": "0", "hashrate1d": "0", "hashrate7d": "0", "workers": 1}

Do I need to be hashing for a certain length of time before the hashrate data values get filled in?

EDIT:
hashrate data values are filling in but don't make a lot of sense
{"hashrate1m": "389", "hashrate5m": "389", "hashrate1hr": "389", "hashrate1d": "684", "hashrate7d": "1.3K", "workers": 1}

{"hashrate1m": "194", "hashrate5m": "194", "hashrate1hr": "194", "hashrate1d": "453", "hashrate7d": "1.18K", "workers": 1}

{"hashrate1m": "97", "hashrate5m": "97", "hashrate1hr": "97", "hashrate1d": "300", "hashrate7d": "1.08K", "workers": 1}

I'm running a 7GH BFL Jalapeno - everything looks fine when I run it from a command line..
Have you gotten past the initial 1024 difficulty and all of the subsequent drops? It might take a bit for the stats to stabilize.

So when I rotate I lose a little bit of work. Is it dependant on various factors or a set number of shares/percentage, so to speak? I haven't seen rejects or stales when switching thus far.

EDIT: also hashrate doesn't seem to dip when switching, though worker difficulty goes down then back up.
It's only a very small amount lost (I wrote the failover strategies to be as seamless as possible), and happens with every switch. If you're not switching frequently like every minute you almost certainly won't notice a thing so it is the best option.

Alright that makes sense. I'll be rolling the dice then for 1 hour out of every 20 Smiley
