Thanks.  I appreciate the help.  To be clear.

1.  I'm a newbie.
2.  I was GIVEN the antminer.
3.  I read the manual and dozens of posts/sites.

I'd actually put these details in previously but didn't know I had to wait 5-10 mins for it to kick in.

No worries  you got it to work!

good luck!

beginners luck is always best.

Does this sound correct now?  I just put the below into the URL and nothing in Worker and Password?

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1JuHMs8FZTzazq7B9B9Eg6oYpSQ9ADSTL9.0 -p x

Getting Socket connect failed: Connection refused error.  Bloody thing.

I don't want to sound mean, but you mentioned that S17 is your first gear but you can't even set up the pool details, maybe get a cheaper gear to play with first?

anyway, to make it easier for you, here is exactly how to do it.

Thanks for the input.  That was one of the million things I tried to get it going - turns out I have to wait about 5-10 mins and I didn't realise.  If you read my original post, you'll see I said I was given the S17 and that I'm a newbie.

I'll switch over the pool tomorrow so the https server can finally rest on the correct port, and with it restart the pool for minor updates. As always downtime will be negligible. Is there any demand at all for port 80/443 mining? I'm not planning on trying to support it unless anyone says they want or need it.
Spent the day unwell, nothing happened.

not to worry -ck

do it when you get better.  pool is running smoothly

Complete newbie here.  I've been given an Antminer S17 and wanted to try it out.  I think everything is connected up ok, but can you tell me if I've got this right to operate:

URL:  stratum+tcp://de.ckpool.org:3333
Worker:  xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Password:  123

nope  .

since I have no idea what you put for worker.

a suggestion is put in a real btc addy and show us the BTC addy.   we can show you if it is working.

If you want privacy do it again with a real btc addy but do not tell us the one you use for keeps.

here is an address I am mining to right now

https://solo.ckpool.org:444/users/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

note I disabled this
https : // solo.ckpool . org: 444/ users /   use your address to check  not mine 146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

Oh man, I'm such an idiot.  BTC address, not wallet Cheesy  Thanks!

Got it now.  Seems to be working Smiley  I was looking at it all wrong.

Oh make sure it is your wallet that you control as 6.25 btc = $50,000 plus

That will be because the proxy is mining at the pool diff, 10k, so your hashrate is too small to show up.

Undecided in lack of better Equipment because of high prices for electricity, that was my only choice to test it.
Cheesy but all good, now might be another one, with more hashpower, may report (Phil where are you).

Busy with real world shit. I will try more hash then this. Later on today.

It works like a charme!
I installed it under Debian Buster accordingly to your advise, and it installed and compiled without any issue.
Tested the function afterwards with my 2 U2 (shame on me) and it works great.
Thanks for the feedback.
EDIT: but it did not show the worker or hashrate under user/btcaddress Sad so there is something to look after.

I've created a script for Ubuntu (suggest 20.04) or Debian linux which should automate the setup, configuration, and install of a ckproxy to mine on the solo pool, though you can edit it afterwards to mine wherever you like. I do not suggest using something like an RPi as you want reasonable performance from your proxy to avoid any added latency.

Download the following script:
Code:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/soloproxy/setupsoloproxy.sh

It will not be directly executable, so execute it with
Code:
sh setupsoloproxy.sh

And follow the prompts. Tell me how you go.

We are not retail.
Yea, a solo blockfind would be a lot of bitcoin going to someone else if it's custodial wallet/address.

i have a question, when i want to configure my miners on solo mining so how may i select a coin base address?i have select an used bitcoin address or an

By coinbase you mean the centralized exchange of coinbase and not the block reward transaction right? well to answer your question, a used address or not makes no difference at all as far as mining is concerned (it does in terms of security "hypothetically" but that is off-topic).

Ckpool or any other pool for that matter doesn't care if your address is used or not if it's a valid it works, now in theory, you are supposed to own both used and unused addresses and have full control over them, but in reality if that address is given to you by an exchange like coinbase, then you don't own anything, all you have is Coinbase's words for it.

If you want to solomine and you are lazy or don't want to spend money on a hardware wallet, the least you could do is download an IOS/Android app on your phone, don't solomine to an address owned by someone else.

hello all
i have a question, when i want to configure my miners on solo mining so how may i select a coin base address?i have select an used bitcoin address or an unused address?segwit format or each format?
please tell me anything i have notice for select a bitcoin address to configuration my miners for solo
thank you so much

personally I like to use a legacy address to mine here.

You must have full control of the address.

So do you have a core wallet on your pc?

Do you have a hardware wallet like Trezor?

No other addresses are in your full control

I have a Coinbase account. I could use an address from my account.

But. Coinbase has the keys.  and if they fuck up you are screwed.

I could use my bittrex account. and they control that money. if they fuck up you are screwed.

This is the address I use

http://35.192.6.83:3000/d/JmhHccgGz/ck-pool-user-dashboard?orgId=1&refresh=1m&var-user=146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

and it is a legacy address on my trezor.
