the fact is even in the past bounty can't be the only your source of income, you need a real job that actually needs a skill to at least survive and pay your bill.

and NO, bounty hunting is not gambling, if you think bounty hunting is gambling then you are doing it wrong, you can do research on the project before you decided to join it. And if you don't do that, than you just waste your time, and it is worse then gambling.

well bounties for some is full time job and for some part time / free time thing to do. as you said you cannot rely on bounty for your bread and butter, it's better to have an income whether it be online or offline. i enjoy participating in exciting projects, if they give good rewards for my participation that's fine if not it's fine too.

Truth be told. You can't be jobless and be doing bounties. You will starve  Grin

My advice is to just see bounties as a pass time and don't be too expectant. Find some other job that gives you money. So many factors determine if you will get good rewards from bounties. For instance, when it lists, the price is out of the control of the team (unless they decide to do a buyback which rarely happens). The price of the token can rise if there is a lot of demand for it when it lists. But most times (since the bear run) the demand is low and to make it worse, several holders set ridiculously low prices just to sell off which devalues the coin.

Another factor that determines your reward is the authenticity as well as the success of the team and its project. Many campaigns have closed down in the past after several months of working on them only to announce that they failed to raise enough funds for the project. Worse case is the team devs exit scam and no one gets paid.

Project owners can also decide to execute their "reserved rights" by changing the rules at the end of successful campaigns. Rules changes can usually mean bounty rewards are reduced, locked, subjected to uninformed KYC checks, or distributed over a very long period of time.

If you consider all this then you will see that bounty campaigns are a gamble and cannot be always relied on to provide regular income for people participating in it. Those that participated in Deex bounty campaign (which ended in January 2019) are still waiting for their rewards (3 months after) and the devs are not communicating any date for the distribution. If you ask them they will say "soon". They have been saying "soon" since January, by the way. I'm not trying to slander the project or anything. I'm just advising fellow bounty hunters to try to get something else to do that will fetch them money and not to rely too much on bounty campaigns for payments.
I really agree with you ! It is better to have a stable job in the real life, don't rely in doing bounty campaigns, for the reasons that not all bounties are successful and mostly we bounty hunters are not getting paid by the ICO development team. If you take risk on engaging your life on doing bounties , then there is a big chance for you to starve, so find some stable job and make bounties just a part time job.

I think this is one of the best advice you have giving to bounty hunters in recent times, i believe many new hunters will learn from your experience in the course of participating in the bounty hunting process. Thanks for your information

Bounties are at best supplementary income, though I suppose in some third-world countries they could be a full-time job. They are good as a hobby and to learn by exchanging ideas with other crypto enthusiasts.

Bounties can’t give you everyday profit so its not good to depend on thay if you are living pay-check to pay-check. You have to look for a more fix income that can support your expenses. I can’t just live and depend on any bounties, not right now but hopefully in the future because I want to gain freedom on my finances and one day I will become totally debt free. So for now, do what is right that can’t hurt your budget.

You own the pen
If you want to earn a lot while doing Bounties make a business that will last longer than the Bounties out there, Because when you out of money You will not get broke anytime You have a solid business and If the Bounty Fail You have a fall back. That's why we offen see on the Movie seen If they fail on plan A there always be a plan B. that is the same for us.

Who said bounty is a job?It can be considered as part time job if you are having lot of spare time to spend but having bounty is your only source of income is not a right thing but many bounty hunters in this forum are from third world countries who are earning pretty decent money than going to a daily job but it is not permanent so invest those earning into some passive income method to secure your future.

it is purely common sense. How can you depend on bounties for your daily upkeep? Bounties are unregulated and as such there is no guarantee that any will pay you well (if they even pay you at all)

To me, bounties are a way to gain extra experience with the type of work that I do, I'm always trying to branch out.
And with my country's economy, even "low rewards" tend to be a good chunk of money.
Though, I do appreciate your insight, gotta be careful and well informed on projects that you wish to participate in.

Bounties are not more than a hobby, especially on such a market. 50 percent are going scam, 30 percent are not going to distribute coins, 15 percent are going to be worthless and if you are lucky you will get 5 percent of your earned tokens by the ICO price.

Of course, you can not be jobless and you can also participate in bounties (only if you have main job). Just be careful to pick a bounty so you won't get scammed.
