If you have other things to make your mind and body busy then perhaps it can really help you out removed gambling in your mind. And perhaps if you experience successive loses to lets say in a month, perhaps you might think of slowing down and not gamble because you are in a losing streak and it's better to just channel your energy into other things.

Yes, it's going to be difficult, but just think about it. If others can do it, then for sure you can also accomplished it as well. You just need to be mentally tough and learn how to fight the demons inside of you so that you can quit gambling for good.
Or perhaps you really need a vacation in advance for a while. Apart from refreshing your mind, you can try to find other things that you can use to avoid gambling. And after your vacation time is over, you won't start looking for gambling but will do the last thing you did during the last vacation. And if it turns out that you can find something interesting from doing that, your mind will start to focus on that and will slowly forget about gambling. This must be started immediately to be able to stop gambling before you experience gambling addiction so you don't have to experience it. We can do it if we want to try it, especially if we can ask for help from the people closest to us. Perhaps the process will be over quickly, and we can recover from gambling addiction.

A vacation is indeed good if you're looking for something to divert your attention away from gambling but that is only good if you also have the money to spend for a long vacation just to help yourself. We all know that there are more people that are not that rich who are also having the very same problem, the only best thing they could if they cannot afford a vacation is to keep themselves busy in a much interesting things or make another habit just make yourself forget gambling for a while.
Making yourself busy by doing other activities is a good option if you don't have money to afford taking a long vacation. Because there's always a way if a gambler really wants to minimize his time spent in gambling or really want to stop for good.

But you don't have to be hard on yourself. If gambling can give a gambler a certain level of fun, excitement and satisfaction then so be it. Just keep in mind that you need to discipline yourself to have self control so you don't have to face a hard consequences due to your actions the way you treat gambling.

So I don't know. This is a very interesting topic buy my knowledge on addiction treatment is too limited. The best would be to cut one's gambling obsession from the beginning before developing anything more serious, either through self-control or using some features that many casinos have to limit the time they can be online etc.
The will to win is the path to addiction most of the time. Then, there's chasing the losses which leads to two different situations. Losing more which means more chasing and winning it back which means betting more for trying to make profits, again, back to winning.
As long as the mindset is there, more gamblers will be addicted to gambling. IMO, only discipline can help out in this case. Pauses. Taking breaks. Knowing when you are losing. Giving it time to analyze why the heck are we losing.
I've known this by experience, surely even losing a small amount is a stressful day and all I want is for the gambling site to give it back by the use of RTP but sometimes we get unlucky and it won't happen for a long time.
There is nothing wrong with having a will to win, however people need to know in which activities this is a very useful tool and in which activities this can be a serious drawback, after all in the activities in which your performance has a direct impact on your results such a will is key to get far, but when it comes to gambling such stubbornness will only cause us to lose a massive amount of money, and as such we need to be ready to change the way we think in any activity which has similar characteristics to gambling.

Now, if you still want to gamble but you don't want to become addicted to it, one of the things you should do in my opinion is:

1. Only set aside an amount of money that you will use to gamble in a casino.
2. Don't think that you will gamble to make money, because if you do that, you will surely have a problem later.
3. Just spend a few hours staying in a casino to gamble so you can avoid what you don't realize is wasting time that you should be spending on important things instead of gambling.
1. I think every addict starts like this. They set an amount aside that they want to use for gambling, but then eventually gets addicted and starts spending as much as they can on gambling. So I don't think this is going to help.

I believe it will help if the gambler sticks to it.  It also gives a reminder to those who wanted to moderate or control their gambling activities.  But obviously, to those who lack control overthemselves, these suggestion will not work.

2. Sadly, most people gamble for the money and the profit. If only people gambled just for fun...

Uncontrolled fun can also result in gambling addiction.  Most gambling addiction is caused by dopamine which is produced when we are having pleasure.
3. True, having a hobby and keeping yourself busy or distracted can help you avoid gambling, but I disagree with "spend only few hours". If you want to stop gambling, you have to stop and don't gamble at all! Spending 1 hour today, you will see that you are spending two hours tomorrow and at the end of the month, you will end up gambling 24/7.

I highly agree if someone is to stop to gamble it should not be half-baked, and triggering gambling addiction only needs exposure regardless of the amount of time since gambling addiction is not a thing that one can catch in an instant, it is a process.

No one wakes up and say, hey I'm going to be addicted to gambling. As a matter of fact, the ones who would later become addicted to gambling are those who feel that they are gambling addiction-proof. These ones think that they have become gambling -lords and they often do not know when they start to abuse gambling and sooner rather than later fall into the gambling addiction spectrum. If you think you can be addicted yet you do everything that could lead to gambling addiction, just know that you are the perfect candidate for it.
It is obvious that no person would know that they will be vulnerable to an addiction and that they will get too deep into it and wouldn't be able to come out of it very easily, maybe people who live with them like their family members and friends might know that their nature is like that and they will surely get addicted if they like something too much or if they become connected to something they simply can't control their emotions after that.

So someone never plans an addiction because everyone knows that it's not a good thing, even if what you do is a good thing in general, but if you get addicted to it and start doing it excessively, it will be harmful to you in the long run, so things like these happen without any planning or anything.

Remove the stigma? That is beyond the control of any (unskilled) gambler. You definitely need to talk and be open about your problem, however the better thing to do would be ban or remove yourself from any scenario where you end up near a place of gambling. Maybe take a week or two holiday to a different destination when you've decided to quit, so you can get used to the separation and habits that you may have formed over a long time. That is a really important step to take and one that you can fully control.
Without a doubt removing yourself from your current environment is a good idea as a way to shake things up and avoid the same behaviors that lead you to the path of addiction, however those which are trying to overcome their addiction need to be prepared to do anything in order to improve, and if this means leaving a friendship or other important relationships behind then it has to be done, as there are many people out there that will not want to help the addicted gambler to solve their problem and will keep tempting them to go back to their old habits, and in that case there will only be two options available to them, to keep that relationship but go back to becoming addicted or to lose that relationship but continue on the path of recovery.

In addition, as the last posts mentioned ambition as a source of problems and distractions as a way to overcome it, I don't know what experts would say on that: on one hand, if ambition is something static and the individual can't change that trait of his personality, then a solution could definitely be to focus his attention as long as possible in other demanding activities, especially if they are also productive either emotionally or rationally (because it would be easy to fall in other addictions while trying to forget about the previous ones).

If we refer to the word "ambition" then it contains a very broad meaning. I don't know if any of us in the community have ambitions to get rich from gambling. or, the desire to always win the bet. This seems a bit biased, because for me ambition and desire don't have the same definition. So I'm interested in what you said, "ambition as a source of trouble", in this case it refers to gambling. which is my question, is ambition static for everyone/gamblers, it seems the answer is no. even if, someone has ambitions that seem difficult to change like a trait that has taken root into personality. then, the solution is to visit people who are experts in this field. it's hard, if only to focus on other activities. in particular, acute gamblers who fall into the compulsive category.

On the other hand, if ambition can be tamed, then I think that a phase of introspection, especially if guided by a professional, could grant more profound and lasting benefits in the form of resilience. Of course, there could be also inconveniences, as it would be like trying to end an obsession through another obsession; but in the first solution based on distractions too!

Actually, for me it's not very ideal with the word "ambition". rather, is a high desire.
However, we agree with the points you said. well, I also just want to add. besides the introspection phase, plus getting guidance from a professional person. In essence, a person must first be aware of the problems he is experiencing. therefore, it takes strong determination and intention to change and change the way we think and think especially about obsession.

So I don't know. This is a very interesting topic buy my knowledge on addiction treatment is too limited. The best would be to cut one's gambling obsession from the beginning before developing anything more serious, either through self-control or using some features that many casinos have to limit the time they can be online etc.

By the way I was part of a gambling addict in the past. in fact, maybe right now I'm still a gambling addict. because, so far I still like to gamble. however, now it is more about sports betting. To be honest, I don't know how to cure an addicted person. but as far as my experience, we ourselves determine it. I mean, we are in power over ourselves, what we do is will. every will, requires awareness. Likewise with gambling, with high awareness and responsibility, at least we will have self-control.

There are lot of things to deal with if one want to quit, certain disciplinary principles should be enacted without any form of hesitation. There's no such thing as gambling lords in this system, but we have the successful gamblers, those who have earned enormously from the system without any further complain. Addiction is an unplanned scenario that hits an ambitious gambler who tend to make things easy for himself in gambling, but unknown to him that he just crossed the borders. Everything have a specific period which we engaged in, doing it excessive will only bring possible negative outcomes, that's just the truth about the space.
And only by reducing the time to gamble by replacing it with other activities that can distract him from trying to forget gambling. But only a few can become successful gamblers because successful gamblers already have many things that can prevent them from becoming gamblers who are addicted to gambling. And when they want to learn to have restrictions so they don't become addicted, that's what can help them get out of difficult situations where they will see that they still have many options to reduce their gambling activities. And if you feel that gambling has almost made you addicted, you really have to rest for a while to get rid of the urge to gamble and do other things that would be highly recommended.

Gambling is full of different moments but when you play by the basic principle of its safety, you will go far, you will last long because your winning moments will be more than the times you will lose in gambling, you mentioned some but some of them are not even needed, gambling doesn't habe a straight rule just the basic ones we can practice to stay safe in order to avoid money and don't gamble to the point we make wrong decisions that may end up in addiction and debt.

Lets go over your list from beginning to the end; Recognizing the problem will help any gambler that is having hard time in gambling, I will rather confide in a buddy and friend than a love ones because they will be emotional towards decision making and will likely tell you to quit especially if the hate gambling, seeking a professional health is another cost, I think a friendly help is enough except for chronic gambler. Every gambler need adjustment when needed.

Your last 3 point is also helpful but whether you think about making money in gambling or not, your decision and choice depends on what you play, if you win big, you likely make money and if you lose, you wouldn't make anything, there is no way out of this and lastly, to avoid addiction, staying away from casino is really helpful to the health.

All these are some notable risk management gamblers need to consider while patronising a gambling platform, gambling shouldn't be seen as an everyday activity, so therefore you could look towards other forms of entertaining yourself, for those who claim they gamble for fun and go to the casino everyday or use an online platform everyday when they're on leisures, what they fail to understand is that the more you visit a casino regularly there are chances that you'll be tempted to place a bet, maybe due to another gamblers success or to add up to the funds you have and them when you lose you'll try to recover and that's how the addiction for it develops gradually.
Therefore gamblers should minimise the time spent on gambling because it's something that easily get one addicted and cause distraction from other important activities, sometimes it even distract you from communicating with love ones because your attention is on thinking about different strategies of winning, setting a budget is another way people could control their addiction now most casinos have included features like deposit limit to help bettors minimise the lose and also recklessly spending in gambling so gamblers should learn to set daily or weekly spending limit on gambling cause it would help reduce the addiction for it.

After starting the gambling,it will became an addiction to most of the people. So being a gambler one should not get addicted while playing the gambling.Because not all the gamblers will win all the time,So they use to do repeat the game till their loss was recovered. But the thing is most of the gamblers will do repeat of the game till the loss was recovered.Sometimes they win and recovered the loss. But some time they will loss the new investing money. So it's better to hold for certain period of time. When your motion was changed to normal, you can start to gamble. The continuing after the loss is most probably leads to the loss,So avoid of loss by being patience at certain period of time. Most of the gamblers will not follow this and get into the loss of huge money.
Gamblers are less likely to become addicts than vice versa, because if those who enter gambling tend to become addicts then there will be no country that legalizes gambling, so only a few percent are addicted.
And it is almost impossible for players to be able to recover from losses it is such an activity in vain, it would be better for the player to no longer care about the money that has been lost due to losing in gambling and if the defeat is enough to damage the mind it would be better for a while to stop gambling and return to playing not because you want to recover losses but because you really want to return to playing, because gambling will have a greater percentage depend on luck if you are lucky it is not impossible to get profit, but it would be better never to target to recover losses.

If you think you can be addicted yet you do everything that could lead to gambling addiction, just know that you are the perfect candidate for it.
