Unlike my previous estimation, this coin would probably disrupt the current crypto market and compete with well known coins.
As it would be backed by other large enterprise like VISA, mastercard and Paypal it is sure to have it's own card and be used in banking sector.
With Uber on it's team, it would also be an utility token. So, it could really be the first global cryptocoin.

For me it will be a big success as Facebook has lot of users around the globe and as one of the most famous social media they could easily promote their FB coin to the business world. Hopefully they would really become a success as i believe that it will help the market to become more healthy than before too.
FB has sold their nodes to some handful of multi national companies, which imo is against the concept of decentralization.
Libras what they call them is gaining popularity faster than a wildfire. In my opinion, this is what people need nowadays, a crypto that will be as stable as possible than any other crytpto currency in the circulation. It is a good thing to know that big finacial firms and brands are looking out for it enough to back them financially.. With this, people are noticing the trend having trust in this coin even before its release.
I forsee a major Boom in the crypto industry with this project. Facebook already has a global audience and this will only serve as a proper marketing tool for crypto thus, introducing it to a lot of people all over the globe. This will in turn lead to more investments. The crypto industry is set for a major Boom.

If this is a shitcoin, it would not create a headline in the crypto news, just think about that. It's better if we welcome them as they are embracing crypto, this is a good news for us and even if you and me will not buy this, I'm sure there's a lot of investors out there will see a positive thing for this coin, and will buy.
Out of the over a billion users that has been recorded to be Facebook users, 10 million adopter is more than enough to make use of the coin for whatever purpose it will be created for which I am sure will just be a stable coin for utility purpose as against the global coin people thinks.
I heard about it and they have over 100 personnel working on it, from what i read the white paper will be release on June 18 but its not final, facebook are being ask about it but no further comment have been given so it might not launch this year but surely they are preparing for there own crypto currency.

It's hard to say what effect it will have. I for one am skeptical about it, because as a basket of fiat currencies I'm unsure it's much safer than the U.S. dollar and other major fiat currencies. It might get the public used to cryptocurrencies, however.
From what i am read, this global coin or coin made by facebook can transfer via whatsapp or others application made by facebook. If this happen, people can make transaction more easier and faster because more people in the world must be using whatsapp or facebook or messenger

If this global coin like stablecoin, i think its not an investment. But if global coin have limited supply like bitcoin, even centralized coin, i think the price could increase and could be an investment because most people in the world become facebook member

I doubt about it, since facebook coin was managed by one party, price movement will be same with dollar movement price and it will be use as a tool for payment system. And this is different with bitcoin, as far as we know bitcoin is not managed by one party and its movement price based on supply and demand which mean everyone who knows about facebook coin will ignore bitcoin and even maybe the user of cryptocurrencies will move to use facebook coin to be use as payment system, but for an investment place they will choose cryptocurrencies.
