I agree that public shaming is a bit hasty. Personally, this is the first time in a while I have been in the forum and it's been even longer since the last time I opened my wallet to sync. Life happens, and mine has been quite busy these past 6 months or so. Perhaps a more reasonable approach would be to post a reminder every so often to include the address the bounty should be sent to.

Seems that war was declared on Zeitcoin at 1 satoshi. All for sale at that pittance seem to have abruptly disappeared.

Let us not get into publicly humiliating those knights that have not yet contributed. Those knights that have not yet contributed may have valid reasons for their delay. Perhaps they're simply detained in other realms and haven't yet heard the call or perhaps they've suffered personal misfortune and could benefit from our support rather than our scorn.

Far too many Knights have neither donated yet; nor said why not.
...Perhaps it's time to start thinking about a healthy dose of 'name & shame'?
What say the community?
...

Speaking as an outsider (my Zeitcoin holding is negligible), if someone has signed up to be a Knight and the intention is to act as an effective unit to further the Zeit cause, then they are honour bound to comply with the conditions of being a Knight.

Naming and shaming could be counter-productive and could make others think twice about becoming a Knight, but maybe that could be a good thing in that only dedicated people will in future apply to be Knights. Personally, I wouldn't make a big thing out of naming and shaming as a punishment. A simple, unvarnished statement of accounts showing who has paid and who hasn't should be enough.

EDIT:

A better way might be to issue several reminders and if there is no response, the defaulters should be considered for suspension until such times that they feel that they can contribute again.

Do you Knights swear an oath of allegiance? Maybe Knights should have a clear Knight-exit capability if they find that after joining they unable to meet their obligations. That way those in admin would know better where they stand and are not messed around so much.

ABOUT THE TITHE

I see it, at its' heart, as both the practical expression of the Knightly virtue of charity, and a statement of faith in the future of our beloved coin.

As I understand it, the Tithe is a voluntary act. It's not a condition of Knighthood that an exact figure is calculated & required to be paid. Yes, there is a guideline of 10% of the interest gained on the 100,000,000 Zeit needed for Knighthood - which for the year up to March 2016 would be 1,500,000 Zeit - but as

a) The fund has not had the chance to gain interest on those donations due to  - let's be honest here - apathy 'at the top'; &

b) Most of the Knights are actually holding substantially more than that 100 million,

my own feeling is that a somewhat greater show of generosity is in order, so that's what I've done. I hope other Knights feel the same.

Please remember that the PURPOSE of the fund is to both contribute towards the costs of maintaining the services essential to our continued growth; and to build the ability to create &/or support projects which are 'in-tune' with the long-term ethos of our shared vision of a better future for all mankind through the intelligent use of technology.

Also, there is no bar to any other holder of Zeitcoin from making a voluntary contribution to the fund - just because.

All that said, the address for this round of donations to the Knights' Fund is:-

MrLionJW5cAok3Es6CWiXD6W8kHm5YCygk

(Thanks to Ray for creating the custom addy for me. It will, of course, be locked with a secure passcode at all times.)

Remember that everyone can see the balance, and how many payments have been made, by using one of our block explorers ... or even from your own wallet.

OK, now that you've read all that, here's the easy-to-cut-paste version of the donation addy:-

MrLionJW5cAok3Es6CWiXD6W8kHm5YCygk

Please PM your TX IDs to Kiklo so he can keep a track of the who's & what's Wink

Thank you for your reply!

Did several restarts, left wallet running for several hours, no change. Will try the bootstrap now.

EDIT: Bootstrap works like a dream. Quick too! Wallet is syncing now.

I get errors like the one below:

Wallet Restart will normally clear that up ,

Is your Wallet Encrypted , so it is not trying to stake while synced?

The Date of the Block is 2016-05-10 14:41:36

We have a Blockchain Snapshot later than that

Stuck on block 2481297. Have 8 connections to the network. Ver 2.0.1.7.

What do I need to do?

Just restart the wallet.
If that does not fix it , take a look in the debug log and post any messages.

Brexit Takes Investors by Surprise

Quote
Global markets buckled as Britain’s vote on European Union membership infected every asset class.

The pound plunged by a record and the euro slid by the most since it was introduced in 1999 as the BBC projected a victory for the "Leave" campaign with most votes counted in Britain’s referendum on membership of the European Union. South Africa’s rand led slides among the currencies of commodity-exporting nations as oil sank to about $47 a barrel and industrial metals slumped. The yen surged and gold soared with U.S. Treasuries as investors piled into haven assets. Futures on the FTSE 100 Index plunged with S&P 500 Index contracts as Asian stocks dropped by the most in five years.

“It’s scary, and I’ve never seen anything like it,” said James Butterfill, head of research and investments at ETF Securities, said by phone from London. “We’re going to see outflows from basically any kind of cyclical asset. A lot of people were caught out, and many investors will lose a lot of money.”

Quick pump up and what usually follows afterwards is an elevator down. Rinse and repeat. See you testing the $500 support soon.

Well, I think we know where the Eth/Dao went ... >>> BTC ... price goes up ... >>>  BTC to $ ... price goes down. Nice bit of laundering.

The latest C-Cex shit-list.

- Though I admit I'm surprised to see DGB on there, was under the impression that it was fairly solid.

i like zeitcoin , but i dont understand how this coin is going to become famous like ETH

I hope Zeitcoin is never (in)famous like ETH. What a freaking disaster for cryptos. Fully support cryptopia's decision to ditch ETH and hope other exchanges do likewise.

Cryptopia ETH Markets are closing, please cancel all open ETH orders.

i am buying zeit , but dont think it will be 1$ for 1 zeitcoin , so how much market cap should be for zeitcoin to reach 1$ ? so Total coins 90 billion , and how long will take to Pos all coins?

It will be many many years before 90 billion is reached.
We drop to the final 5% rate in ~6 month, which will decrease our growth rate and decrease sell pressure on the exchanges

Our current number is ~35 Billion.
35,000,000,000   @$0.01           $350,000,000 Market cap  or  $ 350 Million
35,000,000,000   @$0.10        $3,500,000,000 Market cap  or  $3.5 Billion
35,000,000,000   @$1.00      $35,000,000,000 Market cap   or $35 Billion

 Cool
so it need to triple btc market cap ?
if so then it is posible ,but if we will have 60 bilions , to much money  Grin
